This place has always lived up to expectations of food. Be it earlier as Pallavi, later as Taste Buds and now as Local Bar & Kitchen, food has always been USP of this place.Earlier it was only a veg resto, now it has Bar as well as Non veg food too & it still continues to have all the reasons for Vegetarians to visit this place.Also there is separate section smoking and non smoking people.Tandoor food here is really really yummy. We had Paneer Hazuri Tikka and it was really really yum. Infact my sister usually doesn’t like paneer but she loved this paneer so much that she just didn’t taste it but ate all of paneer in her plate with love.We had Veg Banjara Kebab & it was also tasty and the best part of it was cheese stick in between the kebab.We had Burnt Garlic Rice Sizzler with Paneer Peri Peri and it was really yummy. The quantity of sufficient enough for 2 people to have.In drink we had Blue Lagoon & Spiced Guava and both drink are really really awesome.Ambience is very good.Food is very good.Service is good too.Must visit place.

Local Bar & Kitchen is akin to the adage “old wine in a new bottle”. It has donned 2 avatars so far; it was originally Pallavi then it turned into Taste Buds and now as Local Bar & Kitchen, however its core strength of serving good food has stayed unchanged since its initial days. It was earlier a pure vegetarian restaurant & a bar; it has now in its latest avatar started serving non-vegetarian fare as well.This restaurant is located on the busy Netaji Subhash Road, opposite Vishwa Samrat Fine Dine. If you are travelling from Mulund station towards Local Bar & Kitchen, keep coming straight on the one-way route till you reach a traffic signal, there you will see Vishwa Samrat on your left & Local Bar & Kitchen on your right hand side.This lighting of this place was a bit too dim for my liking; it seemed more like a dingy bar than a family restaurant. The tables though are well lit with soft focus light on the food. The décor is nicely done up with with artificial decorative pieces put up in the centre of the restaurant. If they can take up the overall lighting a notch or two up then it wont’t be uncomfortable for families to walk-in here.Detailed below is my take on the food, I sampled here:SPICED GUAVAA nicely prepared concoction which was spiced well by the addition of spices.RECOMMENDEDNAWABI ROLLThis dish was revelation and an innovation of the Kebab.A generous quantity of Parmesan cheese was stuffed inside a hollow in a vegetable patty and rolled in an oblong shape. The vegetable patty was made of finely chopped french beans, carrots, mashed potatoes and green peas. It was then rolled in vermicelli and deep fried.It was served across the surface in a slant position with green chutney which was made spicy and tomato ketchup. This dish was really nice & finished it off in a jiffy.RECOMMENDEDSTIR FRIED EXOTIC VEGETABLES [INR]This was a regulation Indo-Chinese dish. Exotic vegetables like broccoli, zucchini, bell peppers, mushroom, pokchoy & onions were tossed in chili garlic sauce. My only complaint is that it had loads of garlic, it can be cut down.VEG AFTABII was enamoured by this dish is to say the least about it.The dish was pretty simple apparently but it had layers to it, in terms of preparation & in taste as well. Veggies like cauliflower, green peas, French beans and Paneer were deep fried and set aside. They were then tossed and simmered in thick gravy based on tomato, onions & cashew paste. The use of spices was minimalistic, but they could be felt while relishing the vegetable.On the first bite, you can feel the crunch caused by the deep frying and then the flurry of flavours from the gravy.RECOMMENDEDVEG BIRYANIBiryani, was honestly, a let down in terms of appearance & preparation. The Biryani was nice to taste and had the right flavours. But what turned my opinion against it was that it was too sticky for Biryani, it more like a Masala Khichdi. Isnt Biryani supposed to have separated long grain rice?They need to be work upon this preparation and make it close to a regular Biryani. Though I understand that authentic Biryani may not be possible due to paucity of time but it surely can’t be sticky.I was welcomed, made comforatable and attended to with warmth; the service was very affable to put in a gist.Local Bar & Kitchen is a good place to hand around with friends & family in case you need to hang around at a bar which also serves good vegetarian food.

Good ambiance with big television screen. 7 minutes walking distance from Mulund west railway. Good quality and quantity of food . As I am vegetarian, I tried vegetarian food all were yummy.Starters, main course, juice are nicely served Staff is well trained and cooperative.I will suggest to try, you will enjoy the food.

Earlier this place was known as Taste Buds which served only Veg food, Lately changed their brand name to Local Bar & Kitchen. Now they serve both veg and non-veg food. Food quality is good with appropriate pricing, ambiance is fine, Staff is polite & cooperative, They also have a small banquet hall for 30 to 50 pax. Appropriate for small family events like Baby shower, Birthdays or corporate events. This banquet provides music system and projector which can be used for the events.

Just the name of the place has changed from taste buds to Local bar and kitchen though the owner and service remains same and even better.💠Earlier they used to serve only veg food but now they are open for both veg and non-vegetarian food lovers. The ambience is quite simple but very beautifully maintained.
