This place has lost its charm. When we ordered their famous kheema pav, we were surprised to find a piece of hair in the kheema. The waiter did replace it but the new dish too had many tiny pieces of hair. It turned out to be a disgusting experience.
Must visit. Great kheema pav , biriyani and definitely order the caramel custard.
Cafe Military Restaurant & Beer Bar. A Parsi/Iranian iconic Restaurant, right in the busy street of Fort. It is just next to Central Bank of India Head Office.A very few Iranian restaurants left in our South Mumbai or what they call Town. The place was bought in the year 1933 and the then owner started with Brun maska, Omelettes, and Egg Bhurji – these mouth watering and tantalizing ones taste buds dishes were not available in those days – to Bombay. It became very popular with the office goers and College crowd.Later with other restaurants coming up in the nearby area. The Brun Maska didnt work much and the owner had to introduce certain non-vegetarian dishes to sustain.Slowly it introduced Beer. One can chill out with Beers in hot summer afternoons or can lurch the thirst in the evening while going home.Though the menu has limited dishes but each one is tasty and tantalizing. It remains open till 10 p.m. and us open now also. They do serve beer. The typical Iranian furniture - table and chairs brings in nostalgia. Chairs are very comfortable.Service is fast and the staff is cordial and co-operative.One must try their Mutton Cutlets, Kheema fry, Biryani & Custard.
A must visit for a person who wants to relax, njoy and have a good meal. Service is exemplary and environment is casual and soothing. A value for money at all times . A must visit place .
Food quality is very good 👍 👌 😋
Average place. Its like any other neighborhood beer cafe with one difference - it serves parsi food. Objectively, food is average. But, if you want to experience/understand an irani/parsi cafe vibe, its great.
Cafe Military is a Military theme based cafe located in Fort , Mumbai Maharashtra India. This Cafe located in very crowded places, Cafe military basically serves more Non-Veg item as compared to Veg one.Non-Veg items are Beef keema, Chicken bhuna, Mutton stew, Mutton Biryani, and many more along with Chilled Beer. And their have daily routine menu, I visit this cafe to tired out some delicious food and Chicken Cutlet is too good in tasteService is too fastPrice quite reasonable as compared to modern cafes.
It used to be one of the best Irani Food Place..But now quality-Taste is not that yummy and rich that used to be 4-5 yrs earlier.
If u r in South Mumbai and want to have alcohol in budget and cheap. U should visit this place. They only have beer and few starters apart from keema pav and biryani. The only turn off was thier ambiance. They should have a Air conditioner too. Although it has old school vibes which u Miss sometimes in our busy lifestyle.Good cafe..must visit if ur in South Mumbai..
The Covid effect has taken its toll, the staff is least interested in running the joint, had pallonji raspberry too much sweetened drink as other soft drinks were with rusty cap, as first had ordered only available sprite which had flakes of oxidised cap
A wonderful little corner cafe that is a great example of the traditional Irani cafes that are so popular in South Mumbai. Its not as old as the others this was started in 1933 but serves some delicious food. Highly recommend their kheema ghotala for breakfast along with their bun maska and chai. If youre here for a meal they have a daily menu with different dishes for each day and some weekly staples so the dhansak and mutton cutlets are what is recommend. If youve got a sweet tooth then the raspberry soda and caramel custard.
This is a superb place to enjoy authentic irani food and grab a beer ......... typical irani cafe ambience......... food taste and quality is superb ...... quick service ....... pocket friendly ..... serves a beer named kangaro which i have never seen in mumbai at any other place ...... overall a fantastic experience
The chicken and mutton fry masala was really good , wanted to try the chicken cutlet but it was unavailable.Drawback- only cash payments
The landscape of Mumbai cuisine would be incomplete without the vast number of Irani Cafés dispersed across the city. One of the most legendary cafés has to be Cafe Military.Located on a busy street in Fort, Mumbai, this café may not look like much on the outside but has character on the inside. Just enter the restaurant and seat yourself. You only have to wait for a few minutes before a server comes to take your order. You must have their Irani Chai. This is one of the best I have had. This light chai is packed with lemongrass goodness. And no chai is complete without some Bun Maska. They add tutti-frutti to their bread and slather plenty of butter.I do recommend their cheese toast as well. While vegetarians dont have a lot of options for a hefty meal, you have enough choices to have a light snack. Most people do visit Cafe Military for its affordable range of alcohol.Service is no frills. The servers are sweet. They come, take your order, and give you your food as soon as possible.I hope Cafe Military starts providing more options for vegetarians. For now, Ill always go back for their tea.
The legendary military cafe !! What can I say about this place that has never been said before!!! The perfect place to chill.. The food here is perfect. Cheap beer is an added incentive. The place just takes you back in time. A must go for anyone in Bombay who wants to have some fabulous parsi food.
Cafe Military is located at Nagindas master road, Fort. This place was on the list of top Irani restaurants, so I thought I would give it a try. So we ordered akuri pav and caramel custard. I just loved both those items, caramel custard was perfect. I would love to taste other items on my next visit. I loved the ambience, which was old school. This place is cheap, budget friendly when you compare it with other legendary Irani restaurants.
A heritage irani / parsi eatery tucked away at the side of flora fountain in South Mumbai. They have half the section with the old charm seating and half with the general seating. Good if they can change some broken metal chairs lying around.Their signature dishes include,1) Kheema Sali (Kheena with Sali)2) Akuri (an iranian scrambled egg, with masala)3) Mutton Sali Boti (Mutton Pieces in gravy with sali)4) Kheema Masoor Pulav (Pulav with Kheema and Masoor Dal on top)5) Caramel Custard for desertThey also serve chilled beer, sandwiches and a variety of other items.Their food is just AWESOME and they have different specialities, that change everyday.Rates are reasonable compared to the other irani / parsi joints. Dont expect anything fancy, besides the food.Waiters are always smiling and service is very quick.
This iconic place in Fort needs no introduction. Service is quick and items are cheap. Food is quite savoury. Two cons though are that they only accept cash and keep mild beer.
One of the few Irani Cafes where you get Beer. Salli Boti is recommended here alongwith Kheema Pav and Mutton Cutlet. Dont forget to have the Rasberry Drink quintessential to Parsi Cuisine
Cafe Military is a legendary Irani Cafe which has been around for almost 80 years now.It serves mainly Iranian cuisine & 95% of their menu is non-vegetarian but the vegetarian dishes that they serve are nice such as Dhansak, Dhandal & Masoor Dal.No meal is complete without the Caramel Custard or Badam Pak.
Jast go and Child out.Child Beer Maind Fresh 😍
Its an old cafe serving Irani food and beer too that too early morning 😜 Had chicken cutlet and keema ghotala and obvious Irani drink i.e. Pallonji Soda. Cutlet was dry and tasted okay. keema ghotala was good served with bread. Nothing so extraordinary and not so bad too. So you can surely give it a try. Wont dig a hole in your pocket like Britannia 😜
Good food, prompt service, pocket friendly.
A shadow of its former self. Limited menu, no specials of the day, beers stills feel good on a hot afternoon
Very old, historic parsi joint in south mumbai. Traditional old furniture, chairs, high ceiling. They serve only beers in terms of alcohol. Not a big variety in menu but one can relish differently tasting veg & non veg delicacies like Keema, Chicken Fushka, Dhanshak, etc. Everything is highly affordable & easy on pocket. The menu & availability changes daily. Only drawback is for everything, there is a bread(pav). They do not serve roti. Keep it as a thing to do in Mumbai, thats it.
Quality of food gone down. Visited only for sake of nostalgia.
Good to spend time with friends...
1. On a rainy afternoon we hoped into this cafe. A perfect place to describe as a classic. The restaurant has maintained the old rugged look.2. Chilled Beer and some Parsi delicacies is what makes this place a must visit.3. We tried the Chicken Cutlet with gravy and Keema Biryani. The one last star was not given as I have had better Parsi preparations.4. Just hop in and enjoy the food and ambience.
Its a beer place. You will get Parasi chakna and cold beer. A classic place with Parasi touch. Please carry cash when you visit here they dont accept cards or digital payment.
Authentic Irani food. Had delicious Sali Kheema and pav followed by Caramel Custard.🤤🤤The tough and rude signs 😁😁were there.Down nostalgia lane.
Yesterday I visited Cafe Military...is the chef changed? The taste is not upto the mark like earlier...
Operating from a limited menu but what they have is top notch. Great kheema
Its a quaint and quality spot in the heart of a very expensive real estate and is very reasonably priced
Authentic Irani food at good price. They serve beer as well.
Simple yet elegant cafe. One of few left over Irani/parsi cafes.Great tasteWarm serviceDecent ambianceGood QualityOnly challenge:STRICTLY CASH (NO CARDS/PAYTM
Budget hotel to hangout and chill with friends. Value for money.
Cafe you can visit everyday and not get bored
Authentic Parsi food along with the most reasonable rates of Beer in SoBo
Very sad place to go to post covid... Keema Pau their best in menu is now no more their best. Today it was served cold with literally no salt in it. I would recommend not to visit this place!!!!
Great Parsi place with a retro ambiance. Most recommended dish would be Keema Pav coupled with Raspberry Soda. Do try the daily specials as well.
Affordable price meal and they dont charge extra for beer and they serve only mild beer like Kangaro,Kingfisher, carlsberg,Turborg
Pretty good place. Doesnt make you feel bad about day drinking because lawyers are sitting there doing the same. Whilst the elder ones are having the Chai there. At 11am, their vast menu included three items. Omlette pav, kheema pav and bhurji pav. I chose the kheema, i asked which animal was sacrificed for this scrumptious meal, he grunted back. The portion is the same quantity it probably was when they were rationing out food during partition to the military.
Kheema pav and other parsi food.. Sali boti and dhansak are fantastic. Ambiance and decor of the old Iranian cafes which are hard to find nowadays. Cheap eats and great service.. A must do for any foodie in Mumbai.
Super Parsi food extremely reasonable and great turn around.Must visit if you happen to be in Fort Mumbai
Very good service
All time favourite . Beer and chill
Tried chicken salli and lime soda, 8/10 - will visit again
Best Parsi food.
The portion size is too less
E excellent service and yummy foods...
The place was shut but it is a fantastic place to eat as I have been there before the lockdown
Good place but due to lockdown no food but chilled beer available.
Use to visit this place twice a month around 2 years back. Visited it recently, the food quality/taste use to be so good earlier. Now its just bad. Would not go there again. Ambience and service is still the same.
Excellent place , food is delicious. New introduction of non alcoholic beer too.
Our usual cheat non veg lunch haunt! Doesnt pretend to be anything its not. Just good decadent parsi food at affordable every day prices with excellent and quick service!
