Jai hind lunch homeJai hind lunch home Is located near Hill Road Bandra West.Jai hind is famous for Malwani, Konkan, north Indian, Goan and seafood.Amazing place for all the seafood lovers out there..!Talking about ambience it was simple and decent with a comfortable seating arrangement.Staff was well aware about the dishes in the menu..!We had:πΉBharla bombil must tryππΉMeen gassiπΉNeer dosaπΉCaramel custard (BEST)All the dishes were delicious. Quality and the quantity of food was up to mark.!
I visited Jaihind Lunch home a few days ago. Having stayed in Mahim, its a well known fish restaurant at Bandra. Visited many times but was very disappointed this time. I had ordered prawn biryani & barle bombil. I took a small portion serving & packed the rest but sad to say the prawns was soo less. Hardly 6 mostly small only 4 big ones. Pls whoever is the owner kindly look into the matter. This would taint your restaurants image. I can understand cost cutting but not on our cost when we are paying you for quality & quantity food.
Must try for malvani seafood!!!If you have a craving for malvani food, jai hind is a good spot to try out seafood.I found all the dishes average but the quality and quantity is very much sufficient. You can try prawns sukkha thali, chkn sukkha and mutton sukkha thali.I would also recommended you to try suram fish tawa fry and bombil rava fry as well.Visit once and enjoy the malvani food
Surmai thali ok. Papad served was soft.Prawns Biryani ...could count the prawns. Just 5 . Returned it and they replaced it after a 20 mins waitSurmai green masala was too much onion base. This place was one of my favorite....will think twice now if have to visit again. They need to work on their service as well. Not how it used to be earlier.
This restaurant came recommended. The sea food is really good and the ambience is also nice. Judicious use of mirrors creates a fine illusion of space. The service is very good, speedy and efficient. Orders are taken while youre waiting outside itself and served once you are seated without waiting for long. The Bharla Bombil which is, stuffed Bombil with prawns is a definite must have!!! The fried fish was also good. The garlic crab was tasty and alright. The kokam milk was very well made. All in all an enjoyable experience.
I still remember hopping on this place during my college days when we friends used to visit mount Mary and honestly I wasnβt a die hard fan of Malwani cuisine back then so we usually used to order starters, solkadhi.Visited this place almost after 5 years with pure intention of trying out only seafood served over here as jaihind is very known for its fish thali and malwani cuisines.Weekends are Extremely crowded but the staff is pretty quick so donβt worry about the waiting saga.Neat and clean restaurant, very hygienic and courteous staff.Parking definitely is an issue so better to come by cab. What we tried:π΄ Prawn sukka thali - Fresh medium sized prawns cooked to perfection with fresh cocconut based masala extremely delicious and highly recommended ππ΄Surmai fry thali - fried big slice of surmai which could have been a bit more spicy and crispy but fish was very fresh.π΄Prawn stuffed Bombil starter - Star of the entire showπSmall prawn prepared in mild masalas stuffed inside bombil and rolled into tubes, coated in rawa and some spices and deep fried until nice and crisp. Itβs amazing. We repeated our order for this particular dish. Itβs that goodππ΄Neer dosa - Extremly thin, soft piping hot and divine.π΄Solkadhi - Though I find it a bit tangy then usual but was very refreshing. All thalis mentioned above was served along with a bowl of dry prawns sabji, solkadhi, fish gravy, a portion of steam rice, onion and spicy rice papad. You have option of ordering your thali either with chapati or bhakri and if you want to replace it with beer dosa then you have to additionally pay 30βΉ per plate.Overall we had a great experience and definitely going to visit again to try out their other delicacies .
Veg thali is not there, local chaat and chinese.Ok place for hunger pangs.
They dont have reservation system. Generally a lot of waiting but the taste of the food is worth it. The solkadhi is my most favourite and ofcousrse Kombdi Vade. The sitting is a bit cramped up but once your dish arrives youre just so indulged in eating that the ambience doesnt make so much of a difference. If you want to taste authentic Maharashtrian, this place is must visit π€€βΊοΈ
Jai Hind Lunch Home, Bandra, Mumbai: I would like to share my personal experience on Jai Hind Lunch Hotel and restaurant which is situated in Dr. Ambedker Road Bandra (west) Mumbai. So I was just planning to go outside for dinner then my friend suggested me to go in this restaurant. Then I have decided to go there for a lunch with my family.Jai Hind Food and presentation: So both were good and I liked there food serving style.Jai Hind Ambiance: So this was also good which I liked the most and it also helps us to take a fresh breath.Jai Hind Customer service: It was also good, they talk in a very good manner.Jai Hind Value for Money: So I dont think that they are charging too much money from us, they are giving you a great service in a really cheap price....
Nice food.. tandoori pomfret is a must try
The food is always good but the quantity has detoriated.
Its difficult to find a better place in Mumbai for fish cooked in authentic Malwani, Konkani or Goanese style. I have been a patron of this place for a long time and I can vouch for the freshness of the fish and the delectable array of curries. If you love nothing better than fried fish, once again this is the place to go. Try bombil fry, surmai tawa fry or prawns koliwada (my personal favourite). And when you step into the joint hot and bothered from the heat, order a glass of solkadi to cool your soul. Go for it.
Only good for fish food not for Chinese and chicken .
Great place to enjoy seafood. Excellent variety and tasty dishes. Hygienic and clean place.
Great Goan food.
Excellent seafood preparations.Great service
Food teast is excellent but staff not follow proper hygiene
Excellent seafood .. ample portion
Value for money sea food.Cramped seating.Delicious food.Good service.No washroom
Delicious crabs. But when they say not spicy, it still spicy π€ͺTake the waiters recommendations...
Ambience, Food, Quantity, Value for Money All Ok thats why rating it 3.
Before I write my review. Apologies for posting the pictures of food which I have already started hogging. Jokes apart. Jai hind is a small restaurant located in Bandra hill road. The restaurant lacks all the frills and extravagance. However, the food speaks volumes. I had great experience dinning here. We ordered Prawns thali which cost Rs. 340 odd (definitely value for money) and other dish was Pomfret thali Rs.350 odd (again value for money) the thali had curry, Sol curry, three chapattis each. We also ordered Bombill fry which was equally scrptious. Highly recommended this place. Budget friendly too.
Good dining experience!!
The only amazing aspect there was the food.. if you are looking for a great ambience you may wanna skip this place.. The tables are too close to the others and the place is crammed.. Youd wish youd eat asap and leave.. And no toilets either so ladies come prepared..
A very good place to eat a variety vegetarian food. North Indian and South Indian both are available. The quality, quantity and taste of the food too was very good. The service and cleanliness also scores well. The restaurant has a AC and Non AC section.
Awesome food. Especially seafood. Prompt service. Decently priced. Nice ambience. One of the Best restaurants to eat in Bandra
The food here is amazing. One of the best places to visit with family. The food too is so homely. Love it. One good thing about them is that the food here is not oily. The soul curry here is mind blowing. Must try.
Not recommendable, WORST SERVICE, I took my non vegetarian friend there but he hardly got any good options on top of the the extreme rude staff with very bad service we experienced there
Awesome place. Good tasty food.
Best prawnsDo try agri masala prawns
Bombil sandwich highly recommended
The most amazing seafood, its a lunch home so the place is simple but clean. The staff is very good. We frequent this place and take friends for the seafood treat. Very economical too.
Jai Hind is our recommended place to go for sea food in Bandra. We visit it regularly as we are almost guaranteed to have a good, hearty and tasty meal (weve had just one below-expectations experience so far but that can happen anywhere). The fish is fresh and cleaned well. The staff are polite and helpful. Prices were more pocket-friendly earlier but remain reasonable. Desserts are limited and arent worth the money though -its best to avoid them. Overall,
Its an excellent place to be if you are a fried food stuff fan. Its a must visit place and very popular in Mumbai. Chicken Tandoori, Seekh Kebab, Prawns Fry are my favorites.
Nice place for sea food. Reasonably quick service and the fish etc seemed fresh. Portions are decent, will fill an average persons stomach. Location is close to the MMRDA paid parking so thats a bonus.
Fooood is awesomeeeeeee
Awesome food
Regular at this place. If you want to eat some good sea food, then you should visit this place. The place is small but the food is good .
Good service, hygeine ,nice ambiance.
Food was great! Prawn thali had fresh prawns and some great food! I even downed the sol kadi and Im not a huge fan of it. The only negative is that the place is tiny so not ideal for big groups and they dont have a bathroom, only a washbasin. But theyll be kind enough to take you to their staff bathroom if youre not squeamish. Great experience overall!
Amazing sea food ..must try when in Bandra...
Superb food, Especially of you enjoy eating fish and want to try different varieties of sea food, its a must visit ....Dining space is little issue... But for foodies, thats manageable...
Nice food quality, service also good,
Fabulous seafood options and taste.. Professional service but slightly cramped.. located in a very key location.. Middle of the upmarket.. Great experience..
The food was very good and the service was with a smile. A small restaurant but comfortable. Reasonably priced
Great place for sea food and also chicken. The fish was fresh and all the chicken dishes tasted great, we were a group of 14 people .we were all from the coastal towns of goa n mlore and are used to eating sea food regularly, still we were amused by the quality and freshness of the food. One of the few places were there was a consensus on the quality n taste of the food, service was pretty decent. If you like sea food and malwan cuisine a must visit place...
Authentic taste of seafood will make this place your favourite spot along with your beloved ones. Courteous staff will make it at home for you. Enjoy!
Not good
Amazing fish and sea food... Try the fried pomfret and clams (dry curry), totally worth it! Its a completely non veg friendly place :-D
Awesome
Sea Food was top notch and up to the mark. We selected Rawas which was made in Mangalore curry and half was fried and tandoori. This place is must try for sea food lovers
Awesome
Looking for great sea food at great price. If you can overcome the fact that its not fine dining here...then just go in...its about the food...which is delicious here.
Small but good restaurant on hill Road, Food is delicious, specially sea food is very fresh, should visit here for sea food, very clean, staff is also obedient. Waiting period is bit high on Saturday and Sunday.food price is also reasonable. I loved solkadhi, nice pink coloured. Dont miss it.
If you are looking for small cordial restaurant with good seafood, no need to look more. One of the best pomfret I have ever tried.
I visited the Jaihind restaurant on Hill Road today, March 10, 2020 at around 8:30 pm or so. I asked the waiter if the Bombay duck thali was available to which he said a very confident NO. The other waiter also said no its not available and started mumbling something away to glory. I said, ok, then get me a surmai thali. After about 10 to 15 minutes I saw one of the waiters serving fried Bombay ducks to two ladies who walked in after me, and it was also served to two young girls who also walked into the restaurant after I did. I was shocked and called the waiter and questioned him as to why did he say no to me. Then he kept saying the fish just arrived since they ran out of it (what, did it fall from the sky in 10 mins all of a sudden?) Thats what I asked him. Then one of the managers came up to me and said sorry, only both managers know that Bombay ducks are available and the guy who took my order didnt know (ok, no proper communication ) This really confused me and then he kept saying the fish just arrived as they ran out of it. I mean who delivers raw fish at 8:00pm in the night? Dont know whether the waiter was acting dum, or whether he was just plain racist cause it seemed that certain people who spoke the language and certain people who looked probably rich or looked a certain way, or were regulars were served what they wanted. Toooo bad, cause i never want to visit your sad restaurant with really horrible staff ever again, and neither do I want to recommend your restaurant to anybody. There are a lot of genuinly good fish restaurants out there who respect people. I will definately go elsewhere. I visited your dam restaurant especially to have the Bombay duck thali because its my favourite. Its not that I came with the intention to get something free, no, I too paid the same amount of money everybody else paid. I have visited your restaurant many a times, but this incident shocked me to the core. One customer lost but I guess it doesnt matter to youll anyway. I generally ovelook flaws cause all of us are flawed in someway or the other, but this incident just takes the cake.
Quite congested for larger groups, but good place for a quiet dinner with affordable seafood. The ambiance is simple and clean though it does feel a bit crowded. Food is great, affordable and by no means lacking in quality. There is a staircase leading to more seating in an upper deck area, but the ceiling is a bit low there, so choose wisely.
Excellent place for great quality non vegetarian food with an emphasis on sea food. We ordered Rawas fry, Rawas green curry and bombil fry. The fish were really, really fresh and the preparation outstanding. The service, presentation and the ambience were superb. Will definately visit again and will recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely quiet place to have great food.
Authentic Konkan food, busy at lunch time. Try asking for any fish in season. Places like this important to visit if on holiday to Mumbai. Clam (tisyra) masala is not something we get often.
Jai Hind is very well known for its seafood. This was my first time at their Hill road franchise. This place doesnt have ambience as such or do not need ambience, as the place is small and people visit this specially to fulfill their seafood cravings. We ordered, pomfret thali, crab masala, bombil thali. Except carb thali all other dishes were upto the mark. Crab thali didnt taste as it was supposed to.
