The Basilica Of Our Lady of The Mount, also known as Mount Mary Church Bandra is dedicated to Our Blessed Virgin Mary. The feast is celebrated on 8th September. The Holy church is very well maintained and is open to people of all faith. Not just catholics but also people of other religious communities also come here to pray and pay their respects to Our Blessed Virgin Mary. The church is also a very popular tourist destination.

Beautiful heritage building, reaching here requires good driving skills if you are coming in a 4 wheeler. Crowded most of the times. Enough parking space around.

Beautiful basilica Bandra - ornate and colourful and kept clean. They have some candle shops around the area and good parking as well.

The Church is shut for now due to Covid. But worshippers are going and praying. The place has the same spark and peace.

It is divine.. Just go here, even if you have to travel a bit.. tell the taxi/auto that you want to visit the church. I came after 4 years to Mumbai and I took my motorbike for a ride after the heavy rains in Mumbai stopped. I didnt realise where I wanted to go for a ride.... I stay in Andheri East and almost like instantly, I just took the bike out on the highway and near the Bandra Sea- link and the next thing I know I was at the Mount Marys Basilica. My beloved Mother Mary had called me to visit her, since it was long overdue. I looked up at Mother Marys Statue, as I could not climb up the stairs as they had closed the gates, buy you can still stand near the gates and pray. As I stood near the gates to pray, I knew my journey was not planned to Meet Mother Mary, Mother Mary had planned this trip for me.

Full of positive spirit.you can feel the power of God. In fact I am the result of Mount Marry.I did have great family time here and got the opportunity to meet her before I left India. So fascinating and felt the blessings.

Every year Mount Mary Basilica at Bandra celebrates the feast to “Our Lady of the Mount”. Bandra Fair has a carnival-like atmosphere with shopping stalls, food stalls, street events, games, amusement rides, concerts, etc. Mount Mary Bandra Fair takes place within the Mount Mary Church complex and in the lanes around the church.During Mumbai’s Bandra Fair, 430 temporary stalls selling religious artifacts, food, toys, clothes, handicraft items, etc, are set up at Mount Mary Church, Kane Road, Mt Mary Road, Eastern steps of Mount Mary Church, St John Baptist Road and Rebello Road. Most of these stalls are allocated to local residents.For the duration of Bandra Fair, Mumbai’s BMC has made arrangements to clear garbage twice a day. Mount Mary church, We visited this church on Christmas 2019. There was huge crowd and it’s obvious at it was festive day for Christians.Church was beautifully illuminated with colourful lights.Architecture of this church is gothic revival. This is around 200 year old construction. You will find so many shopkeepers at road side selling candles, you can buy from them to light a candle. ⛪️

I will tell you guys how I reached there I was having no idea about this Church as I never stayed in Mumbai but one day my car driver took this road and he told me this is famous Church. I just went inside and I saw people are having such a strong faith towards this Church, I was speechless for few moments and looking towards Mother Marry, I was so thankful to my driver who bought me here, I literally cant explain you guys my feelings. I saw people whoever came with any wish they are keeping one small replica in front of God with a hope that it will be fulfilled one day. The aura is divine and the service is beautiful... It doesnt matter whether you are religious or not you feel a sense of calm and peace as soon as you enter.... It was so special that i felt like The Holy Mother was standing right beside me as i prayed and offered my rosaries. 🙏Very beautiful church just as i had expected. Loved the tall bell tower, the stone walls, the painted windows were breathtakingly gorgeous, the pictures with msgs on the walls inside the church, the red poinsettias used for Christmas decorations. I felt like in heaven.The candle vendors outside were nice and helpful too. I bought several very beautiful candles to offer at the church and take some back home to my country.Huge vicinity, ample parking space, beautiful environment..Thank you dear God.
