Every Sunday I go this place lot of things you can do here .there are more than 200 crocodile 🐊 here .but till now no crocodile harm any human who are swimming in Lake .This lake was made by British before India independence , because of shortage of water 💦 supply in mumbai .Here entrances is illegal but many people come no one can stop you to go there there is no watch men nothing . Only notice that you are not allowed. Many people come in Sunday for swimming , fishing, trekking etc....Many people die here Because they dont know how to swim that was a reason ,But major people die in drunk ,any kind of nasha .Be careful if youre going ,Like it 👍👍
Beautiful place, not safe to go alone. Wear good shoes while going, if possible, take a local along since roads are very tricky.
Good place
The place is totally surreal & untouched. One needs to go through jungle & village, not recommended to go alone. People have littered this place with beer bottles, gutka packets, ciggy buds. Requesting everyone to keep this place clean & hygiene.
Beauty place in mumbai

Lake for voting and enjoyment
Beauty of nature
This is very beautiful place. The lake is situated in the jungle area near powai. Scenery and greenery is very beautiful place. This is the amazing place in Mumbai. As the part of jungle the water is very good. No waste here and there, just clean calm and beauty everywhere. Lovely environment. How to reach there is question? and the partial area of the lake is prohibited for the visit but one can go from Nitie side... So please go through the way is allowed.
Nice Place to chill but the water is too contaminated
I am a regular at here & went there with my wife eldest son & daughter in law last Thursday evening 16th August. As we have become to expect the food was amazing as usual. The staff are really friendly & efficient with out being over attentive. We wouldnt consider going to any other Indian restaurant whilst Jamal the owner is there.
This place is also called as bangoda.
It is a great and very beautiful place. Must visit
Vihar Lake is located near Vihar village on the Mithi River within the precincts of the Borivali National Park, also called the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, in North Mumbai. When built in 1860 (construction started in 1856), it was considered as the largest lake in Mumbai in the Salsette group of islands. It is hemmed between the Tulsi Lake and the Powai Lake(shown in map). It partly meets the drinking water needs of the South Mumbai region.[1] It supplies only 3% of the Mumbai citys water requirement, after filtration at Bhandup where the large water filtration plant is located. The lake is located 32 km to the north of Mumbai by road.[5] The nearest suburban electric train station is Borivli East on the Western Railways and is close to western express highway, with a further travel of 6 km from the station by road to the lake.[6] The nearest Sahar International Airport is at a distance of about 20 km.[7] As the lake is located inside the Sanjay Gandhi National Park, entry permits are to be obtained from the park authorities for visit to the lake.
Situated in the middle of sanjay Gandhi national park this is the most beautiful place to be. Good for swimmers and photographers
Nice Quiet and Clean place
I and my friend Mithun visited this place in 2014 during our M.Sc days. For your information, IIT Bombay residence was not allowed to come from the shortcut path which we followed. Vihar lake has very fresh water. Please be careful if you do not know swimming- an IITian has lost his life here.
