If u r keen on visiting heritage structures in South Mumbai,The Bombay High Court is certainly one place worth visiting. It takes u back to the British Era. The architecture will amaze you. Do go to court room no .46, The Court where The Honble Chief Justice presides over hearings..its grandeur will fascinate you. This is the court where Shri Lokmanya Tilak was pronounced guilty. A plaque in his honour has been placed on d wall outside the court incorporating the words he had spoken upon accepting the punishment. Do not miss out on the museum on the ground floor..you may not b permitted to carry cameras. There r three entrances to the court. You will have to go through security. Certainly a place to visit if u r in Mumbai.Im just lucky I get to go to work here.

Bastion of judiciary being the High Court of the state of Maharashtra. The building itself is an architectural marvel. Big court rooms with high ceilings. A must visit just to admire the beauty of the building. Also has a legal museum within.

When visited there was restrictions on Visitors. My Advocate had permission so we could get through Security.Old Building and typical way of keeping files, furniture and fixtures (Lift is too old where we visited n at times didnt work). So much of Cases, Cort Fee n Govt Expenditure perhaps goes in keeping Judges Cars pristine...

Designed and built by Colonel James Augustus Fuller, the Mumbai High Court is yet another marvellous English Gothic construction. It is 562 feet long and 187 feet wide, dominated by a large central tower. On either side are octagonal spire-covered towers, crowned by the figures of Mercy and Justice. The façade is made of rich blue basalt, beautified further with Porbandar, Stucco, Sewri, and Coorla stones, and the steeply pitched roofs are covered with rich red tiles.

The Bombay High Court is the High Court of the State of Maharashtra. It is one of the premier High Courts in India. It also has benches at Nagpur, Aurangabad and Panaji (Goa). The Principal seat of the Bombay High Court is at Mumbai. The building is more than 100 years old and is a heritage building worth seeing. If not as a lawyer or litigant, a visit to the Bombay High Court building as a tourist is worth it. There is also a museum situated on the ground floor which gives a peek into its history dating back to the British Raj.
