A heritage building. During British era Opera used to perform over here, hence the name Opera House. Rather it is known as Royal Opera House. Few decades back it was a theatre. But now after renovation it is booked for expensive parties.A centre point from where you can proceed towards Chowpatty, Nana Chowk - Grant Road, Gool Dewal (Temple), Saifee Hospital.Building Architect worth admiring.

Recently renovated, the Royal Opera House, which was closed for several years, has reopened as a truly grand Opera House. The decor, the ambience, the seating, the stage, each is perfect. Viewing a performance here is delightful experience.

A little pricey for the tour. $42 for English guided tour. But the outside is nice

Brings back memories of school and medical college days.Used to travel to JaiHind by train and Nair Hospital by bus. School was always on foot.

View from opera House also can see the bridge and cruise, many people there. Very enjoyed. I also take ferry go to manly beach.

I recommend the tour! You get to learn a lot of the history of the opera house and its entertaining! Its also a great area to get souvenirs and a great feed!

Its been an hub of electrical goods. The place has transformed with evolving time. Roxy Cinema which was a single screen is now a multiplex. 20 years back, people used to buy television from Opera House electrical shops. It now has Vijay Sales outlet which caters to all the consumer needs. It has an Apple gadget showroom. The old petrol pump still stands still. I am sure people above 40 years of age must have definitely crossed the narrow shortcut lane behind the busstop to reach the Charni Road overbridge to reach Chowpatty at least once as a kid.
