Authentic Mangrolian cuisineGood bombil fry
Definitely a must visit place if youre a seafood person. The food is fresh and tasty. The place is always full. The bharlela bombil is a must have from their menu. I also tried the stuffed crab which was equally tasty a little more crab meat and it would be perfect. They would definitely get a five if they improve their chapatti and overall service.
Fresh Konkan food with thalis and a nice a la carte selection. We ordered the chicken kalamirch kebab which was moist, succulent and tender and the chicken was juicy and tender. We also tried the theesrio which had bold fresh flavors. The fried bombil was lightly dusted with semolina flour and it was moist and flaky and not at all oily. The Goan prawn curry was authentic with just the right amount of Solan and had nice flavor and textures. The dal thadka was freshly made and it had great flavor and just the right amount of heat. Small restaurant with limited seating but quick service and excellent food
I just go there to have chicken tanduriBut I must say the have good see food items and special Konkani Maharashtran dishes and nir dosa is quite popular tooYou can try mudcrab but if you want to try something different ask wether they have a season fish called Jitada. And dont forget to have solkadi after you have finish your mealNice staff but now a days too crowded5 stars for tanduri alone
Jai Hind branch located in Pali hill road, Pali Naka Bandra. Fisrt thing first... The food... We liked the food. We went there specially to taste sea food. Prawns started was nice.. non spicy, so kids loved it.... chicken resmi kabab was good. tried bombil thali, paplet thali, surmai thali....all were good. Quantity was sufficient. fry bombil starter, mutton sukka, paplet in hirva masala with neer dosa was yummy. Solkadhi was yummy too!! Pricing was reasonable. Now the negative part.... Congested roads making difficult to track the restaurant. No parking space. No valet parking. Small and congested dining area. They dont take prior reservations. Doubt if they have restrooms!!! Didnt got time to check that out. We went with young kids and trust me it was a havoc to manage kids there due no space to move around so plan your visit accordingly.
Surmai Fish Thali is the best !Prawns butter garlic as well AMAZING !The staff is welcoming. Not fancy at all. It is local restaurant, but you will get amazing fish/seafood dishes. Some dishes are good some are average or below.Find your tastes from Jai Hind :)
Its known for seafood however I can assure its rare that one gets to eat fresh fish here. Fish is best when its fresh catch of the day. However they buy in bulk & deep freeze it which takes out the flavour & makes the fish hard in layers inside. One must try only mutton & chicken thali, thats it. Giving one star as such a prominent brand, in a locality like Bandra proudly & arrogantly doesnt accept any form of card payment or PayTM/other Wallet payments. A bit overpriced for my liking & space crunch they have.
I enjoyed having my lunch at Jai Hind. It is perfectly located for anybody visiting the mandatory area of Bandra.Starting for the service: it is nice to be attended for people who know how to do their job.Menu has large options of all kind of different foods: veg, non veg, fish, meat...I tried fried shrimps and tandoori pomfret. While the shrimps were just fried and not requiring any special cooking skill, the pomfret was out of this World: it was fresh, tasty, well presented and accompanied by salad amazingly cut.Price is very reasonable and I will definitely have lunch there again and recommend throughout.
Jai hind is very famous for very traditional sea food. It is considered to be one of the best sea food places in Bombay. Palli Naka store is a very small outlet only 7 tables are there will little crunch. Good waiters. Quick service. I love there neer dosa. For veg eaters they have some amazing sabjis. I like there paneer makhanwala with neer dosa. Its sufficient for 2 ppl. Also compare to other non veg places this place us good price awesome taste good service. Definitely must try. They are not on swiggy or zomato. They have private delivery service. U call them n place the order. They will deliver. The Palli Naka store also excepts CARDS now.
Great food with great hospitality for sea food lovers
Amazing food at economical price but lack of space leads to long queues. Better book in advance!
The best sea food Neal in yearsOn a week day for lunch we had to wait for 29 mins which normally we never do but heard so much about the place travelled far for it decided to wait and by God it was worth more than anything elseThey are very famous for their different fishy thalisWe ordered the bombil Thali and the prawn thali and a slice of rawa fried surmsiAbsolutely fresh and mind blowingThe Thali portions so generousYou get the specific fish you ordered for along with A curry some nice typical crunchy chutney sol Kadi rice and Chappati and papadIf you want you can minus the chappati and add neer dosa for a small extra amountEnded the meal on heavenly caramel custardThe serviceThe qualityThe quantityThe pricing all mind blowing good and worth every penny
I visited this restaurant first time... Must say Best place to have seafood in Bandra WestHad ordered malwani surmai fry thali, mutton thali and shivlya(calms sukha). All the food was delicious and the quantity was good as compared to other restaurant who serve thalisStaff is courteous and service is good
They say its best for sea food....but you must try chicken dishes as well....must try tandoori and tikka biryani
A must visit place if you love seafood.1. Taste - The taste of the food is fantastic. The fish is fresh, served hot and tastes delicious. We ordered the following dishes:a. Pomfret Fry Thali: The thalis of Jai Hind is always good. The thali included one big fried Pomfret, 3 chapatis/rotis, rice, fish curry, papad and solkadhi. The fish was delicious. It was fresh and hot. The curry was also perfect and the solkadhi tasted amazing.b. Surmai Fry Thali: The Surmai fry piece was big. It was tender and soft. It also tastes delicious.2. Service - The service is quick. The staff was friendly with us.3. Location - It is located quite far from the Bandra station. If you visit the Pali Hill area of Bandra West, then you must visit this place.Overall, a small but great place to have seafood.#SeaFoodInMumbai #BestForSeaFood #BestInBandra #BandraOutlet
They have started with fish rolls and as usual its delicious and worth every penny
Good food...small place... well mannered staff...
Tiny little Malwani jewel tucked away in a corner at Pali Naka. Like all Malvani hotels, they have a wide variety of seafood dishes, including curries, fried (both rava and masala) and mutton and chicken dishes including sukke and gashi. Fish thali comprises fried fish, fish curry, vegetable and chapattis and rice. You can ask them not to serve you rice and instead you get two more chapattis if you like; they will gladly bring you refills of curry. Its small, busy, eat-pay-and-leave (only cash) and service is really fast; its reasonably priced, a little on the higher side but then quality is super. My usual favourite is the mutton thali plus a side order (or two) of fried bombil with plenty of sliced onions and squeezed lemon.... heaven!Edit 18 October: they now accept debit and credit cards... prices have gone up!
Must visit place for sea food lovers...
Returned recently after a long break. Food is as good as it always had been. Renovated to better quality seating and ac. As long its their awesome seafood...alls well in the world with or without better seats or AC. Prices arent as super reasonable as they used to be. But nothing to complain about either.
Budget friendly restaurant with really yummy seafood. Tip: Its a super small place and can be easily missed. Get there well in advance so you get a table. Max 4 Only on a table and they have only like 6tables i think. Its totally worth the wait though.
Small lunch home tucked in a corner on Pali Hill road. Great place to indulge in sea food. Me being a convert went here with a friend who knew exactly what to order and man was the food yummy-licious! Good service, great food at reasonable prices.
The 5 stars are purely for the food. Otherwise not a very nice ambience or service. But the sea food is awesome
The best fish i ever had
Nothing great compared to fresh catch
Amazing amazing food. Fresh fish and prawns. Must visit place in Bandra
Amazing food! Tiny place, cozy ambience. Go for the seafood!
Best food i ever had
Nice place for sea food Thalia and your choice. Small but neat and clean with tasty food. Reasonably priced. Crowded you have to wait for a vacant table.
Food Quality is really Good.. Tasty Food . Solkadhi is so Yummy. But space is very less.. they keep me waiting for 20 Min even though there is empty place to sit & no major footfall
Love their fish thalis. Reasonably priced. Good service too. Cant go too wrong. Most rickshaw drivers know where this is.
Service was very slow, got my Thali after 30 minutes. I wanted Prawn Masala, but was served Prawn Sukha, which was really bad in taste, didnt like it. Gravy with rice was disgusting. Not at all happy with my meal.
Nice place ,tasty food and service is also very good
Food is tasty. Freshly cooked fish is a delight The wait could be long, if you reach late. The place is not air conditioned. So, dress accordingly. Strictly no beer, wine or alcohol served here
Excellent place to have non veg especially if youre a fish eater. You can select your food to be served from multiple choices of Indian Cuisine. The one at Pali Hill is non ac but no compromise on food quality, and the service is best! The hotel does not have a lavatory but a popular joint right across it obligies to use theirs. Also Jai Hind Lunch Home doesnt accept any credit or debit card so carry ample hard cash with you. Each non veg meal can cost around 400 per person and a tandoori Pomfret goes for 800 / large1800 serves two.
One of the best places to try fish fry.. their speciality is fish.. the thalis is a pretty amazing offer with variety of customizable options.. I went for surmai fry thali and changed the chapati to neer dosa for 30 rs. Kokum curry is yummy .. must try if u around..
Small place. But what a gem! Serves amazing seafood and chicken delicacies including Goan cuisine. Drop by for a quick meal and soul food.
Nice and small cozy place to have fish in Bandra. Very nice service and food. Worth the price and lot of variety as they cook the fish in various konkani cuisines.
The restaurant is small, but serves tasty food, usually there is a waiting, but quick service is delivered.
Food is pretty good. Serves konkani specialities. Service is pretty fast. The only drawback is the seating capacity is quite small. Space crunch
Great place with great food. The best dishes to order areButter Garlic PrawnsTandoor PomfretPrawns TawaNeer Dosa (so so soft)
Great little shack to have your meal and great food.Style of food is more towards Maharashtrian style and is very yummy.Reasonably priced for the location as well.We loved being there.
Best place for sea food and you can have a great time❤❤
Amazing food. Good quality and quantity. Good taste. Worth the cost.
Jai Hind Lunch Home situated at Dr. Ambedkar road Pali naka Bandra West very good food specialise in seafoods delicious, good ambiance and very good service always a wait but worth waiting very fast home delivery
Love the food here.. its always the best place to have some awesome fish dishes
Exclusive coastal dishes at reasonable price.Must try the fish items.small and compact place.
Super duper food. Chicken ghee roast was tasty, but quantity was not enough for 2 people. Fish tikka (Basa) was awesome.Prawns biriyani was ok types
Love the food. All kinds of seafood available. Fish is superb. Variety of fried and cooked fish and prawns in different gravies. The butter brain masala is excellent.
Love this place.. have been going there since ages.. the food quality is really awesome. They surely know how not compromise on their food.
Amazing food and great staff
Fantastic food. I particularly enjoyed the Bombil Sandwich which is Bombil fish (Bombay duck) stuffed with prawns. Dont forget to wash down your meal with sol kadhi! However the seating in this restaurant is limited and you may have to wait to get a table during peak dinner hours on weekends...
Awesome range of freshly prepared coastal food with emphasis on sea food
I love the Thalis!! Yummy Crispy Bombay duck
One of the best seafood joint with unbelievably reasonable prices gives a run for money to Mahesh Lunch home
Sea food excellent.Satisfies the soul.Service also great.
Its a small place like literally small, the tables are also very small and ambience is like a college canteen. Also it is difficult to accomodate large groups. But all this is compensated by very prompt and quick service and the food they serve is pretty awesome for the price they charge. Try their lapeta kebab, its really good. Because its a small place, average waiting time is around 20 mins. This place doesnt have its own parking but you can park around the Pali hill market. Must visit for the foodie.
Its very nice. The pomfret fry was awesome. We also order pepper garlic basa fish and it was very tasty and mouthwatering. But they dont have enough space to cal it a 3 star restaurants. We had to wait for 45 min just to get the seats as there was a huge rush at normal day. They should make the restaurant more spacious so that the customers can feel relaxed.
One of the best malvani food. I make sure every once in a month I go here and eat and take my friends along!
Superb food, hygienic n loved t new look. Luv this place
Fantastic food and really great servers! Definitely try the Tandoori Rawas and Pomfret Thali and of course, the Stuffed Bombil. Its out of this world!
A small reaturant. Not a lot of seating so you end up waiting for a while for lunch. But one of the best sea food serving places in Mumbai so the wait is worth. My recommendation is prawns masala thali.
Good & tasty food. Reasonably quick in their service. Very polite staff.
Nice food but long wait time due to space crunch.
I come to Mumbai once in 6 months . And I eat at two places . Jai Hind pali Hill and trishna fort
Nice place for sea food in Indian style
Great meal, well prepared dishes and very attentive staff. Highly recommended!
Excellent fish thali, very reasonably priced. try and get there early for lunch to get seats quickly. surmai fry and prawns tandoori highly recommended
Not so great thali, also ordered prawns Koliwada on the waiters suggestion and it was below average. One portion of chicken Sukka wasnt enough for even one person, and was priced at around 300
Opposite the famous Janta Bar and hence overshadowed. Food is quite good starting with the regular fare which is popular across the road.
Good food and staff is too good
Super experience, food was beyond delicious and enjoyed every bit, my company requested to mention lamb rogan and crab malvani was a super hit, well thats what they ate, may be everything what they offer is awesome, will try something else next time...Be mindful they wont serve you crab thali if only big crabs are left.
Decent place for non vegetarians. Value for money sort of place
As usual everything taste same.. I meant to say their chicken curry taste like fish curry only..
The food is good, but the service sucks. I waited for 1 hour and the people who came after us were allowed inside immediately simply coz they were more than 2. So beware... Do not go there if u r a couple!!!
