Best for Maharashtrian Brahmin Style food. Must try Pitla bhakri & Bharit bhakri. Kanda bhaji , kothimbir vadi is all time best option for bites. Piyush is best Shitpey in menu (i.e. cold drink ). They also serves snacks & sweets. Best place to visit with friends and family. Also value for money with good quantity as well as quality.
I like the vibe of this all restaurant . Food is fantastic and important thing is its so convenient . The price of food is midrate .And if ur pay will not waste it will be worth eating there. So many people go there for food . You can go anytime or there you will get best quality food . They serve on table . Place are clean and good . Whole resturant vibe is so good . But hey provide only veg food . If your non vegetarian so dont waste ur time to go there.
Loved that MisalPav ahh ! 😋 Even that Kharvas ( milk desert ) was too good and fresh. Management and hygiene was maintained upto the best levels.Proper place for authentic Maharashtrian snacks in that area
One of the best Misal Paav, liked the Kanda bhajjiOne must try their white pedhas and Dudhi ka pedha
Had ordered farali misal and Sabudana wada. Sabudaba was not fully cooked and the oil used in the chivada in the Misal seemed stale and reused many times. The quality seems to have gone down.
Best maharashtrian dishes served here! My favourite restaurant! Mouth watering Authentic maharashtrian food! We tried Sabudana khichdi, thalipeeth with loni ie white butter, kothimbir wadi vada paav and misal paav! Its at chandavarkar road near borivali station and is cosy place to sit and eat! Perfect place for breakfast, lunch or dinner in a maharashtrian style!
Nice delicious non expensive vegetarian Maharashtrian style food.Good and fast service
No taste to food, just money waste.... no hygiene, not at all good ambience Also lack of Air. adequate fans atleast)
Taste is best in Jain as well as in normal. High price but good taste but takes lot of time for preparation
Its one of the authentic Marathi food joint in Borivali. They have about 3-4 car parking (not official) but you will get to park nearby. As I have eaten in Marathi joint in South Mumbai, I may not like it. Still worth a try for people would like to try Marathi food.Try Misal as well as Piyush
Its typical maharashtrian food joint..overall its ok...
Girgaon Katta serves typical Maharashtrian Cuisine food. Normally on weekends, it is really difficult to find a place to even sit and eat here. try here1)Missal Pav Absolutely Love the way they present their Missal Pav. The quantity is sufficient and it is really very tasty 2)Kothimbir Wadi This is one of their specialities. 3)Kaande Pohe Their Kaande Pohe is A perfect meal for breakfast. 4)Bhajjis their Kaanda and Batata Bhajis. Nice Place, Nice Food and very pocket-friendly.
Although the taste of food is excellent people working there are rude and unprofessional. They give priority to zomato and swiggy. Never take parcel from here. Working people need some traiNong for soft skills. They are RUDE......I dont recommend this place at all.
Good place for authentic maharashtrian food.Pricing is also decent. Waiting time is also less. All in all must visit
Had sabudana khichadi and sabudana wada today which was yummy and tasty. Its high time the local people patronize such outlets...so that our traditional marathi food items are given due place
The food was nice. Maybe due to recent open up after the lockdown, many things werent available from the menu.
The worst customer service I have got so far.. Restaurant staff have no sense to talk.. they don’t process your order in manner. Very poor gesture.. Yesterday we order food along with Piyush.. after waiting for 1hr we finally got food & asked him abt all the items.. after reaching home the Piyush was missing.. we call the restaurant n told the same concern to them… their replies were horrible but still we agreed to pickup our order again … after reaching that hotel we got 2 Piyush instead of 5…. N staff wasn’t even bothered to check that … like seriously u really don’t care for your customers???? What kinda service is this.. 2 blunders in 1hour… pls take this seriously n focus on your customer
Small Maharashtrian place to try Maharashtrian fast food recipes.
One of the best places to visit for authentic veg maharastrian cuisine.. Situated in Borivali West near Ghanta Paanwala.. This place has AC and Non Ac seating..The best dishes to order are Misal.. Puneri and Farari both.Thalipeeth.. Wada pav.. Kanda Bhaji.. Sabudana Khichdi.. Sabudana Wada.. Kothimbir Wadi.. Piyush.. sweet beverage made of Shrikhand and served cold..same as Lassi..You also get options of eating various types of Veg Maharastrian thalis.in lunch. They also deliever on Zomato and Swiggy depending on location..Reasonable pricing.. Great taste and quality.. Highly recommended.
We found a dead mosquito inside Missal & when we complain they apologise for this but they don’t have any answer on cleanliness.. manager wave off missal charges thats what they help & react. Hope they take the necessary action on cleanliness & kitchen staff.
Gr8 marathi food especially ussal missal wada piyush you cannot go wrong service is ok
लई भारी [Lai Bhaari/Too Good]Visited this awesome place which represents maharashtrian food especially the south mumbais Girgaon area, which had majority of maharashtrian population tll about last century. The taste of food from this location is unique in its way. At Girgaon Katta I felt being at Girgaon literally. The food was Awesome. We ordered चहा [Chaha/Tea], filled with a good amount of masala including Ginger. Ekdam Kadak.next up मटार पॅटीस [Matar Pattice/green pease ] a pattice filled with green pease was smooth crispy and yummy.थालीपीठ [Thalipeeth/multi-grain pancake] - it was exactly the way maharashtrians cook. yummy and crispy side loaded with लोणी [unprocessed butter] and चटणी [sauce]मिसळ पाव [Misal Paav/moth beans vegetable topped with farsan[fried gram flour] and Bread] - it was just the right amount of all ingredients and typical classy taste. spicy and yummy.concluded with पियुष [Piyush/yogurt] it was sweet and tasty.Food : 5/5Ambiance : 4/5Service : 4/5
Really very nice marathi food with their services....

Best for typical Marathi food ❤must try
Nice restaurant for Veg snacks and thalis.
This used to be one of my favorite food joint for morning snacks where we used to cherish typical maharashtrian snacks....NOT ANY MORE.The quality and taste have gone from bad to worse over a period of last 6-8 months now and even the crowds which we used to witness earlier have gone down drastically....
The place is a treat for one who wants to try out authentic Maharashtrian cuisine. Its is a pure veg restaurant and it serves Jain food aswell. We had misal pav and kanda poha they were lip-smacking. It is the best misal pav that Ive ever tried in my life. It wasnt to spicy nor too sweet it was perfect combination of both. The service here is just amazing they look after evey table timely.
I had heard lot of this place serving authentic Marathi food and went with the same expectations.. We ordered Kandh Bhaji, Misal Pav, Vada Pav and Piyush .. Staff was friendly..Misal Pav was averageKandha Bhaji was oilyVada Pav was yummy..Piyush (Sweet Lassi with Black Pepper) It was something which I never had earlier and it was refreshing..
Im a regular visitor here and its arguably one of my favourite places in terms of breakfast and lunch. They serve authentic Maharashtrian delicacies. I generally prefer the kothimbir wada, Thali Peeth, misal pav and the occasional poha or saabu Dana chichdi. Each time Ive had a great experience. The ambience is very simple and nothing fancy. They also have a non-ac section on the 1st floor Its a popular place and little crowded during weekends. They also do home delivery via Zomato but just to nearby places. Its always preferable to eat at the restaurant as parceled food tend to get soggy. The rates are very reasonable and easy on your pocket. Do visit this place if you crave for Maharashtrian style food!!!
Very bad service.staff behaviour is rude.Food taste is very bad
Definitely giving 4 stars is worth to this place¡ Girgaon Katta gets the Mumbaikar in you..Perfectly serves Amazing Mumbaikar style Breakfast and Lunch¡ Specifying on breakfast and lunch because haven’t tried Dinner yet¡ Though I am highly impressed with this place for serving amazing Mumbaikar style food by that i mean Maharastrian Style snacks and food. If you are a Mumbaikar by heart this place is going to amaze you. The prices are amazingly pocket friendly. As mentioned in my bio I am here to make your penny worth a while. Thumbs up to this. Talking about ambience the lower section is average but Ac section is too old school and by that i mean very pleasant with a rose on the table and with comfy nostalgic vibe. Do try this place. Thank you¡
Nice aurthantic Maharashtrian veg food.
Amazing food amazing service and great ambience!!
Must try their misal pav
Good food. Good service
Walking distance from borivali station to this typical maharashtrian affair. The seating though not expansive is comfortable to small groups. Road parking if you drive here. Food is great - Must try the kothimbir wadi, piyush, thaalipeet and the misal.Great place for breakfast or a quick evening snack. Service is prompt and courteous.
Perfect place for your Maharashtrian cuisine cravings.. It is situated at 5 mins walking distance from Borivali station west & quiet spacious with indoor as well as outdoor sitting.. I happened to visit it on Makar Sankranti so I tried their special dish Gulpoli along with Misal Pav & Maka Pattice.. All dishes were delicious & quantity was generous for two people.. Service is quick & VFM assured.. looking forward to visit again to try other delicacies..
Place is nice located however they need to work on the taste.
Nice Maharashtrian food!
Tasty Maharashtrian Food.
Food is good. Neat and clean. Those who love Maharashtrian taste , it is really very good. Neat and clean.
I had misal pav. It was little sweet in taste.. Didnt like taste at all. Even I had Kothambir vadi. Taste was not that good.I would not prefer to visit this place again. Not happy vid taste of the food
Best place for breakfast and Maharashtrian food. Test is good but need polite staff with their behaviors.
Everything here is the best... They should have continued to be on Zomato

Missal lovers will find this best place in this area
Authentic Maharashtrian cuisine delicious delicacies, well mannered and trained staff hygienic place to relish food
Worst food and rude staff, way to expensive and poor quality of food. Uncleaned tables and washroom.
Good assortment of food.. sabudana khichdi and maska bun were very delicious and treated really good.. awesome experience here
Nice but food is best for fasting people only not for chatapata kind of dishesh
Awesome Maharashtrian food....
Girgaon Katta is not the typical Udupi restaurant that you go to. Here you get to relish all the typical Maharashtrian breakfast dishes like Missal, Thali Peet, Sabudana Khichdi, Kotmir Vade, Piyush which ordinarily you dont get at other restaurants.Taste wise, GK dishes are very authentic and thankfully they have not changed it to suit the local tastes.10 minutes is what it takes to be served so you need to factor that while ordering as all dishes are prepared on demand other than the Chatni and Sweet Dahi which is made earlier in the day.The serving staff is courteous. Ambience is very simple. However they have taken necessary precautions for the pandemic by installing glass dividers on each table.Reach this place early morning say by 8am to avoid the rush later. All in all, a 5 star rating. Go, enjoy.
This restaurant serves delicious and authentic Maharashtrian food items. I tried Missal pav(one of the best in Borivali) and Sabudana vada(Decent). The food quality and quantity matches the price. All covid norms are followed. Parking is bit of an issue during peak hours. Overall good experience
Excellent Food. Best part the hotel management and staff follows all norms of social distancing👤✖️👤
Authentic Marathi Food with great service and reasonable prices for all food items. (Try Kothimbir Wadi its my personal favorite I bet you would be in love with it. )

Yummy typical maharashtrian food. Loved it
I ordered thalipeth and vada. Thalipeth was raw from inside and vadas potato was raw and vada was burned too. I dont know why I asked the cashier, and cashier said this is the way we serve.
Even their misal pav is sweet. I dont know what kind of taste they want to serve.
