We had ordered a Chicken Manchurian pizza, Chicken fried rice and chicken in garlic sauce. Overall, we were disappointed with what was delivered.The chicken fried rice looked like it had a portion of frozen veggies from the supermarkets put in the rice. Those cubes of carrots and other veggies mixed in looked very familiar to how we get the at the supermarkets.The garlic sauce for the chicken tasted nothing like garlic but felt more like a tomato based gravy.The pizza had a hearty price tag but barely had 2 chicken pieces per piece and was topped with chopped onion and coriander. For a $20 pizza, that’s what we got!P.s. the gravy and the rice had more quantity than what you can see in the photos

A great hidden pizza gem in Melbourne. Offers up Swedish pizza and delivers spot on. Flavour combinations may seem weird at first, but trust us Swedes we have been eating this a long time. Luleå is always a safe/great choice for everyone. Made me feel like I was back home in Sweden.

An absolute gem. The couple that owns it was so hospitable and friendly, and the Swedish Pizza was absolutely spot on. If you haven’t tried Swedish pizza, you’re in for a treat. And if you have, you’re more than likely Swedish and my friend’s comment will sum it up perfectly ”It tastes like home”. Spend a day at Chadstone and drive over, it’s more than worth it, and we’ll be coming back soon!

Our family has gone to Great Eastern Hakka for years. The Swedish pizzas are always sensational - Steve is the most personable head chef Ive ever met. I asked him what hed recommend for pizzas for my birthday, he said to leave it with him and made three specials including one with marinated prawns that Id rang him about the day before. With the fresh chillis and special cabbage side prepared in a beautiful dressing, the experience is always the same delicious, high quality and pleasant experience. If you havent tried them before, theyre a must to try and a great business to support.

I returned to this restaurant nearly after 4 years and the taste of the food was amazing even still. The Manchurian pizza is a must have if you enjoy spicy food. Was quite impressed with the level of hygiene maintained in the restaurant specially with following rules around masks in these COVID times. Will definitely be coming here more!

I haven’t been home to Sweden for almost two years but now I believe I can get over not going home for another two. My pizza cravings have been satisfied. Lovely, welcoming vibe, great service and amazing pizzas. I had high expectations and they we’re all exceeded. Do yourself a favour and go get some Swedish pizza. Strongly recommend the bananarama with pineapple, banana, ham and curry. Trust me on this one!

While the name does not reflect it, this restaurant does offer a range of gourmet pizzas.The flavours are dependably tasty, and quality consistently good, although the prices might be on the higher side.Service was friendly and welcoming, and staff were always attentive.Frequented by regulars, and can be recommended if looking for a change.

All the dishes have vegetarian options which makes it a great place for vegetarians and they happily customise dishes for your dietary requirements.

Our first ever visit to Great Eastern Hakka was a wonderful experience. The ambience and level of service was excellent. So was the quality of cuisine. Just fantastic! Interactions with the chef and the staff was delightful. One must try amongst others the Chicken Manchurian Pizza. It is only one of its kind. We would definitely visit again and highly recommend to others as well. Thanks for everything.

Updated Review:This was my household go-to takeaway place during the lockdown. The food is simply delicious with less oil.The service is amazing and staff are extremely friendly. My regular orders are Sweet Corn Soup, Manchurian Pizza, Spring Rolls and Hakka noodles (all Vegetarian made without eggs on request).The food is still a bit exy for a takeaway order, hence, keeping the star rating same as the last review i.e. 4-star.Overall, give the vego dishes a try and you surely wont be disappointed!

A mate of mine came back from Sweden and raved about banana on pizza. This place is the only restaurant in melb that served it. Must admit, I wasnt sure a out it. However, it didnt disappoint. Loved everything we ate. Big thanks to the team for being so accommodating of my allergies.

Great Easter Hokka is a good restaurant with lot of food variety. The food was delicious and the service was good. The restaurant offered complimentary entrees and they have good pizza options. It also has a back entry from the parking area :) Good place to have lunch with family and friends.

Even though we are thousands of miles away from our hometown Kolkata, Great Eastern Hakka food was exactly of the same Indo Chinese taste. Great to talk to the chef. We will be back soon to try the manchurian pizza. PS: All bengalis who miss Chinatown food in Kolkata, this is your go to place.

I have been living in Mt Waverley for more than 10 years and only just discovered this restaurant. I ordered take away of Mamamia pizza, Chicken chao fen and manchurian beef stir fry. They exceeded my expectations. All ingredients were fresh, the flavours were authentic and delicious. I especially liked the pronounced flavours of the aromatics used and the dishes were neither too salty or too sweet, which is a common problem I have with most stir-fry dishes. I will come back to try the other dishes. Highly recommended.

Had the pizza from here very good value for money

I gave this place 4 stars not for the food but because it was such a strange menu. They serve what they term Swedish pizzas together with Chinese food with Indian Influence. Nothing that you order on the menu is what you would expect! Flavours are unusual. Quite spicy in some cases and textures can be weird like gravy on a Pizza turning it into a dripping mess. To each his own...I guess. Anyway 4 stars for being brave enough to serve up whatever the hell that is.

We think this place is awesome! It doesn’t matter what we order, it’s really good! We took the plunge for the first time last night and ordered a pizza. I couldn’t have imagined anything worse than bolognese on your pizza but it was perfect! The sauce was deliciously made and the dough was made with love!There’s no ‘heavy and greasy ‘ after effect when eating any dish from here!!It was also great meeting the owner.A must try!

We were looking for a different local restaurant to try and we went to the Great Eastern Hakka last night. It was the best restaurant experience we have had in a very long time. The staff were fantastic, Steven, the Chef and owner was friendly and took the time to talk to us and most of all the food was beautiful. Quiet comfortable surroundings. I think weve found our new favourite restaurant. Well be back!!

Doesnt look much from the street but great service and variety of food to suit all tastes. An interesting combination of dishes that you wont find in your typical restraunt. Mother in law said it was the best sweet and sour chicken she has ever had, I love the green curries. Leftovers can be taken away
