Village
Moti Bhujpar (Ta. Mundra)GeographyThe village is located on the banks of the river Nagmati. The large Bhujpur village is touched by the boundary of twelve villages. To the north are Karaghogha, Gelda, Pratappar 2, Pragpar 2, to the east Samaghogha, to the south Nani Bhujpur, Pratappar 1, Borana and Jarpara and to the west Deshalpar, Shiracha and Navinal villages.HistoryMoti Bhujpar is known as Bhujpur. The name Bhujpur is derived from Bhojang Nag. According to folklore, Bhojang Nag passed through this village on his way to Bhuj from Jamnagar. The village was named Bhujpur after him and the place where Bhojang Nag lived is known as Bhujia Dungar. Wherever the Bhojang Nag passed, its imprint fell and the Nagmati river was formed there. This is why the Nagmati river is divided into two parts. Part of it flows in Saurashtra and part in Kutch. When Madi village was destroyed, people of Jessore Jadeja tribe fled from there and were divided into three villages. The eight brothers established a new Bhujpur village on the banks of the river Nagmati where the old place had fallen. The other brothers founded the villages of Beraja and Nana Baraya. After the establishment of Bhujpur village, Odho Charan from Madi village came to Bhujpur village and when he asked for land to live there, he was told that you can cultivate as much land as you can in one day and you will be given as much land. The next day Odha cleverly took his plow and started plowing directly from the south side of Bhujpur village towards the village chomer instead of plowing on one side and then someone said what are you doing, you have to cultivate as much land as you can. So did you take the whole village by making a line with a plow from one side? Will I take the whole village like this? He then apologized and said that I had made a mistake, I am sorry, I have done this in the lure of more land when he told me to get back from here now. As promised, this land will not do this to you again. From then on, the southern part of Bhujpur was given to Odha as promised and Odha Charan established Odhaganja in his name. The village was further known as Nani Bhujpur.
