Rarely review anything but this is a public service announcement. This used to be the default Thai option in the area, reasonable prices (for the SC that is), really tasty food and lovely staff and service. Still great service but unfortunately most recently (Sep 2021) the food was TERRIBLE. Completely bland and flavourless-what happened here? New staff or management? Literally threw it away after one serve of green beef curry and satay chicken. Paid EIGHT (!) dollars for a single serve of mango rice, somehow it was both rock hard and gelatinous with off-the -shelf supermarket coconut cream slathered on top -completely flavourless. Literally the worst Ive ever tasted anywhere on Earth. So bad, it cant be a one off.What a shame. Time to look around again, Thai seasons across the road is reasonable and a bit cheaper I suppose...What a shame.

Delicious Thai! We got takeaway from here and found the food was very good value for money and very tasty. Easy parking around the restaurant and quick to get our food. Highly recommend the vegetarian curry puffs and the Pad See Eiw. Will definitely be returning in future.

Great food! Great value! Hadnt been here for years and years. Went on a Saturday night for a friend birthday dinner. Food and service were fantastic. We brought our own wine and they didnt even charge us corkage (despite bringing 8 bottles!). The food was seriously yummy, cant recommend high enough.

I ordered a prawn Tom Yum Soup and the chicken satay sticks with coconut rice and was very disappointed to discover my Tom yum tasted identical to a tomato soup with very over cooked ‘rubbery’ prawns which was around $20!It lacked a punch of flavour like others I have had in the past, and for an extra $5 for prawns that were well overcooked seemed unreasonable and I was disappointed. However I was happy to know my satay sticks and coconut rice was delicious and fresh.

Just arrived in town. 1 night and what a find! Great Menu selection and flavours delicious. Definitely return to Thai Lotus when passing through next visit!☺great service too...red chicken curry, pork belly oyster sauce! Yummy!

Located in the heart of Mooloolaba. We ordered over the phone and collected in 30 minutes which was great for a Saturday night. Food was fresh and delicious. Thank you.

This used to be the go to Thai place on the Sunshine Coast. I would always recommend this restaurant but after being served raw food I now beg to differ.Ordered two takeaway meals and an entree. The entree of wontons was average but the main meal of massaman beef curry was horrendous. There were two very reasonable sized chunks of beef in the meal (as usual) and cutting through one you could see an excessive amount of blood and it was blatantly obvious it was not cooked. The other chunk of meat was cooked. Before we realised the food was undercooked we noted that the taste of the food was not right. Massman curry usually has that distinctive flavour and this tasted nothing like it should.Very let down considering how good this place used to be.

Had the Green Curry chicken Fried Rice which was both unique and awesome because Ive never eaten at a Thai place (in Brisbane) before that offers a fried rice with a curry option. Was both tasty and had a decent kick as well! Wife had the Massaman Beef Curry with rice which she enjoyed. Definitely recommend this place to others 🙂

Just got 2 yellow chicken curries and rice. Sorry to say but I won’t be recommending this place to eat. The steamed rice was over cooked and stodgy and the yellow curry was flavourless and to thick.Most of it went in the bin.

Amazing Pad Thai, great service.

We had dinner with my family last week and the food was fantastic. Everything went well until we paid our bill at the counter. The lady was horribly rude, she deliberately rolled her eyes on me and my mum when we asked questions about the bill. She was irritated I guess because we questioned? Don’t we customers have the right to clarify and double check if we were charged right? I work in hospitality too and this lady had no idea how to deal with customers at all. I have seen her before as me and my friends frequent this restaurant so I wonder how the manager have kept this kind of front staff? She was ruthless! Needs training!

The restaurant was quite busy when we visited. It had a good atmosphere. The food was cooked very quickly. I had the spicy crispy pork belly. I really enjoyed it. There was a good amount of spice, and the flavours were great. The prices were reasonable. I was happy we decided to eat here.

I came to this place in the strength of Google reviews. I was very disappointed. The spring rolls were large and dripping with fat. Each one was burnt in one spot. The Pad Thai was a mess of gluggy noodles and the sauce tasted cheap and sweet. I don’t know what all the fuss is about but mine was a very underwhelming experience and one I will not repeat.

I don’t have a problem with the taste of the food as it is generally quite nice when I eat in. I ordered take away and for the price the amount you receive is quite small. I was also extremely annoyed that the “ Steamed Veggies “ was just a whole bunch of carrots with a couple of pieces of broccoli! I was expecting a variety with boc choy, onion, zucchini ETC. I just paid $5.00 for some carrot slices . Not cool at all!!!

After few hours having dinner here today, I have stomachach and been to toilet for several times. Im not quiet sure if this meal cause the problems. I went there with friends, we order 3 different meals. I almost finished my meal when I saw the cockroach. We showed the waiter, and he brought that to his chef without saying sorry. After few minutes, we were ready to leave. When my friend paid for the meal, they told him that they will just charge the other two meals and they are making a new one for us. But I wasnt hungry anymore; moreover, I felt disgusting. I really feel sick now.

Great Thai curry. I also really appreciated that they had some vegan options for my wife.

We had takeaway; good flavours, normal sized portions. My duck was a bit more on the ‘miss’ of the hit and miss scale, grizzly and some bones were present. The flavour was certainly nice. Our meals must’ve been cooked a bit before pickup time, even though I picked up 5 minutes early the meals were lukewarm. Despite these little issues I still give this place 4 stars as the flavours were beautiful!

Hugely disappointing. I ordered paid thai, red curry and tom yum and it was honestly the worst Iv ever had. Im leaving this review in the hopes that the chefs pick up their game. Having to throw paid take away food in the compost is a shame.

The beef curry was sour because it went bad. Rice is hard and sticky overnight rice. Very disappointed, had to get dishes refunded. Server was nice about it but just disappointed with the quality of food.

Thai lotus is one of the best Thai restaurant Ive ever visited in the Coast. My partner and I are happy returning customers. The service is prompt, restaurant has cozy atmosphere and food always tasted absolutely delicious and fresh. Presented beautifully and has consistency. Relatively cheap with generous portion size. Restaurant is always busy, full of happy customers.

Wow, just had the BEST Crispy Pork Pad Thai dish I think I have ever ate in Australia!! It was honestly so bloody delicious. First time at Thai Lotus but definitely not the last time!

Yesterday I made my first order online and I had a very embarrassing experience.On the website it said that in the first order we can get 10% off. I selected payment on the store and when I arrived to pick up the staff member was very rude and disbelieving. I love the food and had always good experiences, but yesterday it was a very bad experience.

Ordered take away to have at our apartment stay and it was still steaming hot when we got back.Great chicken satay skewers, some of the best we have had. The panang curry had just the right amount of spice. We would definitely order again.

The food came out far far too quick, we was really rushed and in and out withing 30 minutes. The prawn crackers were stale and the food was disappointing.

Will not bother returning here in the future. I have noticed that the portion sizes continually get smaller every time i purchase to the point where it only half fills the container. They are very stingy with meat, 95% is just chunky veges to virtually no meat and it got to the point where you get a lot more for your money else where. Unless they give you better value for money then you will always have better options elsewhere in Mooloolaba.

We ordered takeaway tonight and it was terribleThe steamed wonton i think where steamed 2 days ago as they where cold.The chilli & basil duck had fatty duck skin only virtually no duck. Thank goodness the vegetables where fresh. No basil in the sauce. We are locals and where regulars to this Thai restaurant so very very disappointing.

Unpel potatoes in the massuman curry, curry was watery not thick enough, didnt taste like nothing, beef was not tender. Pad Thai favour was too strong.

If you have enjoyed the pleasure of great tasting Thai food and know what to expect, then avoid - you won’t get it here. If you are looking for basic tourist level Thai, this is your place. I doubt many Thai people would eat here. Surprised there were Thai people in the kitchen. I bet they don’t eat this food.

This is our family favourite restaurant when visiting Sunshine coast. Food and service still great.

Some of the best Thai food in Queensland, had some chili noodles and it was absolutely amazing and the price is reasonable. Definitely worth eating here when youre close to mooloolaba. Will definitely return here!

The food was good until we found a dead fly in the soup. It was unfortunate that we finished more than half and found it. They would need better hygiene in place as I still feel disgusted.

Best Thai on the coast hands down! Friendly staff and super fast service. I have never been disappointed with anything I have ordered. They are also one of the one restaurants I know that allow BYO and dont charge corkage. I recommended them to everyone I know.

My husband dish , spicy pork belly was good.My dish, filled fish in tamarind sauce was disappointing. The fish is smelly like cheap fish.I tried to eat the vegetables and tamarind sauce instead but couldn’t as the bad taste had spread through the whole dish. 😣

Average food. There wasnt much meat in the two curries we ordered, and while the curries were fine, they were watery and not overly flavourful. We got take away and they forgot one of our dishes which we didnt realise until we got back to the hotel. We took it back and they fixed it quickly enough. The staff were all friendly and helpful. It always seems busy, but its nothing to write home about.

It was one of the worst Thai weve ever tried. Green chicken curry had barely any chicken in it, and a very strict amount of vegetables per serve. I also ordered chicken salad which I threw in the bin because their salad is made of the onions! Huge chunks of red and spring onions. My husband said they could have just put the whole onion in the salad. It was disgusting. Would never eat at Lotus again, it was our first time with Lotus and never again!

Ordered on line and received order confirmation at 6.11 advising delivery 35 mins away.At 7.10 rang the restaurant only to find they were totally confused about our orderand although somewhat apologetic not particularly sorry. Then asked if we still wanted it ...it arrived some 15 minutes later but the entrees were cold and some burnt and cold.Not impressed.
