La Piccola is a gem hidden away in the North of Montreal. Its the kind of well developed and popular establishment you expect of a downtown eatery, tucked away where only the locals can find it.Food: A fusion of Italian and French, the menu at La Piccola offers classic options like pizza, veal marsala, and chicken cordon bleu. Personally I think its a waste to go to a nice restaurant such as this only to then order a pizza, but the pizzas are quite good and will satisfy a picky eater or your children. The main plates are very well prepared and presented. I often say you can judge the quality of the food you are about to get by the quality of the bread that is served beforehand. La Piccola more than passes this test with a delicious French inspired white bread served with butter. My favorite dish here is the veal marsala, it might be the best available on the island. The reason this establishment gets 4 stars from me is that the desserts dont live up to the quality of the main dishes. They are acceptable; but after such an amazing meal its disappointing to get an average dessert dish. 4/5 stars for food.Atmosphere: The interior here is a bit dark/gloomy for my tastes, but very few people come here to eat inside. What makes La Piccola magical are the two terraces where you can eat outdoors in a cozy and comfortably lit exterior. 4/5 stars for atmosphere due to the interior.Pricing: This restaurant offers high tier meals at mid tier pricing, and thats a win. Nearly every main dish is exactly $22. 5/5 stars for pricing.Other details: this is a byow establishment so hit the dep beforehand for your favorite wine and bring it along.Overall: 4/5 stars

Nice Italian restaurant. You can bring your own wine. The food is honest. Before paying, check your bill. They did an error by charging items that I didnt order. I dont think it was intentional , I presume it was a mistake.

I loved the Fettuccine a la Fongole. I got it with cream sauce instead of the regular tomato sauce The terrace is shaded by mature trees. A lovely spot for dinner

Our actual waitress who took our order for antipasto and mains did very little during the evening. We were served and answered to by the rest of the staff.The brie marinara was good, my main dish was rather bland. And the comments from the rest of my group were the same.

Id give it 3.5. Not expensive, more choices needed, other wise was ok

Ambience leaves a lot to be desired. Meals, mostly Italian, are so-so, prices quite reasonable, bring your own botte.

Small restaurant in our neighborhood where we had reserved for the birthday of a friend, we were a small group of 6. We had terrible service, more than an hour of waiting before we came to take our order, no explanation from the server. Heatwave, lukewarm water without ice cubes when we arrived on the table. Each time we had to ask for our glasses to be filled. Hot starters served lukewarm. The waiter advises us that it is the last bread, the same goes for the parmasan cheese that we had sparingly. Do we need to know?Empty tables are cleared before we get rid of our plates.Fortunately, the main meal was good and generous.Hesitant to go back :(. Maybe we had a bad time? We would have appreciated a little reassuring note to know that they were well occupied and that they offer us something to chew on to make us wait, since it was almost 9 p.m. ...

Home non-existent! We had booked for a group of 18 and its like we were invisible !!! You had to ask for everything, the bread, the bottle opener, (3 times) the water, no hello its as if all the employees were in their bubble and did not take into account our presence. I know that sometimes it can be difficult for a group but there it was a real farce !!!

Very nice place, bring your own wine, very warm with a very friendly staff. So the place is perfect for an evening with family, friends, business or as a couple. I would like to mention the recent acquisition of their new cook (around the beginning of December) who authentically adds his touch to the recipes offered and makes your taste experience even more memorable. If you came before December, hurry to book to come and taste the dishes of their new cook. I have to say that I have a personal fondness for polpette linguini and pizza with smoked salmon. 10/10 a go to restaurant when you dont know where to eat in Atown (Ahuntsic 2min from the corner of rue de papineau and fleury).
