Elio Pizzeria has been around since the 60s, probably the number 1 place to go for family run, home made Italian food. The hospitality and friendliness is always there.Recently ordered via Uber eats for the first time and the experience with the food was nearly as good as being in the restaurant. Ordered the combo pizza and pasta. Pepperoni pizza, and rigatoni with meat sauce. They even threw in a slice of black Forest cake for free.The food was as good as it has always been. The care and hospitality put into preparing the delivery is something you would only get from a family run business like this.

Just ordered lasagna and calamari for myself and my grandmother who was craving”authentic Italian.” We were both impressed. The portions are beyond generous, we were full before we could finish all of our food! The lasagna was delicious, beautiful sauce and generous cheese. The breading on the calamari was perfectly crispy, but light not at all heavy, and well seasoned. Will definitely eat here again.

Service is okay. The prices are unclear and make sure you ask because they are not the same as in the menu which is weird in Canada. Shrimp white sauce pizza is not worth 19$. In conclusion, not satisfied.

I am visiting Montreal and I got to visit Elio pizzeria with my friends. Being there felt like visiting my family! We got to talk to the owner and he was super friendly and patient with us :)He answered all of our question with a great sense of humour.Food was delicious!! There were 8 of us and everyone was satisfied with their choice. The potions are big enough to fill you out!I recommend Elio Pizzeria!

Gourmet, authentic, no BS. First time and definately would recommend. Thin crust Pizza was unbelievably amazing. Calamari was good but a bit too over battered. Should have a chicken pizza with peppers. I would have loved that or have the option available for clients. Many people are opting for no meat or chicken on their pizza. Something to consider. Definitely would recommend.

We ordered the table dhôte which was the combo pizza and a choice of pasta. The pasta is good, but the pizza was delicious! I definitely recommended it. Very good price for alot of food!

I ordered the pizza Abbondanza to pick up and boy did it have a abundance of assorted carnivore toppings (meat lover). They always have great and warm service at Elio Pizzeria. They dont skim on the cheese either, its a hearty pizza and a little bit of a thick kind of dough too, very tasty spongy pizza dough.

I’m at such a loss by everyone’s use of the word “authentic” in their reviews. To me this was American Italian food, at best.The good: food comes out incredibly quickly. We were a large party and everyone got the food they ordered, with no mistakes. Service was friendly and quick. The fried calamari was pretty good and the dipping sauce was very flavourful.The house dessert was ok. I realize that’s not really good, but I’m stretching here.The bad: (most of) the food. The lasagna was terrible. My partner had two bites and left the rest untouched. I tasted it and it was reminiscent of chef-Boyardee in texture and flavour. The spaghetti Bologna’s was nearly as bad, but fortunately, suited the palate of our 2 year old. The seafood pasta was edible but extremely salty and full of canned clams and baby frozen shrimp. The sauce was the same tomato sauce as all the other pastas and was not pleasant, at the very least, the pasta itself was well cooked. The pizza was thick, doughy and of low quality ingredients. While the food isn’t expensive, it isn’t cheap. Three meals, 2 kids plates (small pizza and a small pasta) and two drinks came in at $200.I do not understand this restaurant’s reviews and loyalty. I would never go back.

I found a huge issue with the manager at Elios. He was not professional at all and shared some personal thoughts(his) that we not appropriate at all. It is too bad because I have to Elios as a young kid and now I will no longer go there.

Old school Italian restaurant, been around for years. recently renovated, large delicious portions enough to share, great desserts, small wine list, also they serve wine buy the glass.very clean bathrooms, service was friendly always filling up your water glass, loads of free bread. great prices.

I recently had takeout. Service was great! Pizza is amazing! Ingredients are kinda basic, nothing fancy... but its a great pizza. I would love to see non-traditional ingredients.Still giving it 5 stars cause it was way worth the price! We tried both classic and thin crust! Im surely going to order there again someday soon!

Good service and delicious food. the pasta is quite heavy on the stomach so keep that in mind, but good in general.

It’s interesting how during these difficult and trying times for restaurants, you would think that they would have a little bit of desire to want to offer a service experience that promotes their overall well-being and grow their customer base. Sadly, for Elio, this is not their focus. My most recent experience has made me decide not to return. Thankfully, there are many great pizza offerings in Montreal. It’s not just about the food, it’s about the overall experience that makes a customer return or stay away.

Oh my goodness!!! My husband and I ate here while visiting from Toronto where there are a number of excellent restaurants. I ordered lasagna and it was HANDS DOWN the best I ever had. The staff were great and the portions were very large and well worth it. I would definitely recommend trying this place out... You wont be sorry.

I want to preface that this was ordered via DoorDash due to my inability to get to the restaurant physically at the time of the order. I cant wait to be able to eat at the actual restaurant. Ive wanted to order here since I saw an articleOrder: Calamari, Meat Lovers (Abbondanza) Pizza, Caesar Salad, Cavatelli Gira-gira, Caprese salad and 2 desserts (Ferrero Rocher cake and Oreo cheese cake)The calamari is served with an aioli style sauce and a marinara. While not as tender as the Greek calamari from Marvens, this was a very tasty shared appetizer. Even delivered it was still crispy and delicious. Flavourful batter.The pizza was very tasty. Crispy bacon and italian sausage slices on top of the cheese with some standard fare pizza pepperoni under the cheese. Delicious sauce and crust combined with the super crispy bacon pieces is what won me over. Been craving this pizza since our order and Ill need another one soon, maybe with a bit more vegetables this time though.The caesar salad was romaine with bacon bits, bit of parmasean, some capers and croutons. The vinaigrette is obviously house made and very tasty. Lots of garlic and caper and/or anchovy flavours.The caprese was lacking something. It wasnt bad just a bit plain. Probably the weakest item of my order, but they did not skimp on the large and generous pieces of bocconcini and mozzarella triangles. I think my issue was maybe the balsamic reduction or tomatoes at the time (spring so understandable) not being ready.The cavatelli was amazing. The pasta is obviously fresh and then kinda of browned on the skillet so it gets crunchy in some areas. With a great creamy and spicy sauce with mushrooms. Really liked the flavour profile combined with the texture/mouth feel of this dish.The desserts taste exactly how you would expect them to. Im not sure if theyre made in house or from a great bakery, but either way worth the money and great way to finish the meal.Bread rolls and butter as well as extra parmasean was included for everyone as well.Great meal from a great establishment. Looking forward to being there in person soon!

Elios Pizzeria is just amazing!!! I found the place in Google Maps recommendations yesterday. I ordered 2 pizza pastas and a calamari plate for takeout. To my surprise, they have the BEST calamaris that Ive ever tasted in my life!! They arent oily like other calamari plates, and it tastes sooo delicious. Their pastas were so yummy and their pizza, oh my, their pizza is simple yet so flavorful. Also, they gave me FREE dessert with my order!! Best place in town if youre looking for AUTHENTIC ITALIAN food!! Thank you to owner and the staff. Your warmth and hospitality were very much appreciated!! Keep up your great work! The food is amazing good and frankly talking it is not pricey. However they can improve on the order processing but owner is a really nice guy and he was really apologetic on making an error on the salad which was like one of the 9 items I ordered but even before that he included the dessert on the house and this is a definitely the place check out.

Elio Pizzeria truly has the best pizza in Canada. The entire menu is excellent. The service is professional and friendly. I love this place - from a true Napolitano who knows great pizza. Keep up the great job guys.

My go-to Italian spot since I was a little kid! The best meat sauce in Montréal!

The pizza is just not good. Not sure how other ppl like it. Arugula should not be baked, it’s simply placed on top after it’s cooked. Also pepperoni should be placed in a single file not just randomly thrown. Had a bite with like 17 pepperonis which is really gross. Overall Elio, get your sh*t together dude.

Lovely food but what makes a visit special is the staff. Everyone is so friendly and accommodating! Lots of options for pizzas, definitely my go-to pizzeria :)

Pizza was really good! Had the Quebecoise. It was jam packed with all the goodies. The only one reason i took one star off was the fries. They were soggy and terrible. Considering the pandemic context, they are forgiven. I am sure it was a one off possibly. Keep local businesses alive ;)

Been going ever since Im a kid, my parents brought me there as a baby. I remember going into the kitchen to watch Elio cook back in the day!The food is excellent, the pizzas are delicious. This is one of the few pizzerias where they are generous on cheese, and its always much appreciated!If you havent already, go ahead, grab a pizza. You wont regret it.

I used to order pizza from here all the time back in 2005-2006 but theyve seemed to changed their recipe the crust is now thin and dense, they are not as generous as they use to be with the toppings and the sauce has gotten spicier still a decent pizza but theres better out there

I used to have a Christmas dinner at that place every year when I was at my old job.We also had many 5@7 that ended with a dinner at that place.I switched job a couple of years ago so I stopped going there with my colleagues but I rediscovered them in the pandemic. I started to order from them and its just the amazing food at a reasonable price that I remember.Seriously, treat yourself to one of their pizzas, take the occasion to order pots of their delicious homemade pasta sauce and dont forget the jardinière for the pizza . If you never tried it, try it now! Jardinière with pizza is amazing !

Satisfying Italian dishes. Very crowded, but take-out option is available. Decent prices for decent portions. Good for group dining. Outdoor patio available for seating; heating available too in cooler weather.

Pizza is very bad. The dough is tough and hard to chew. The pepperoni was in clumps as if someone just threw a handful of it in the general direction of the pizza and then put it in the oven. Dominos is actually better than this, which is saying something. The ceasar salad was ok, but was quite fishy, with almost no croutons. Once we added some lemon to cut the fishiness it was edible. Overall very disappointed. Will definitely not be going back.

My boyfriend and I both agree this is the best Italian restaurant weve ever tried! Id eat here every day of my life if I could.

I decided to try one of the pizze fine on the second page of the menu and it was horrid. Box soaked through with grease because this type of pizza is apparently slathered in grease or oil and then cooked to a rock-like consistency. Very weird and sickening. I actually threw it out, which I never do with pizza.Now the traditional pizzas on page one might be ok.

Grease and oil everywhere. Its popular. This place is legendary in Montreal. Alas, the 70s, 80s, and 90s were a long time ago. Cardiac risks at your own peril. Good prices and portions. Service, ok most times. A traditional old school pizza and pasta joint.You could do a lot worse. I go 2 to 3 times per year.
