Ive never had a problem in this Second Cup before this week. I dont know if the staff is new or is in need of more training but last time I went I ordered a tea which the girl served in their paper cup. However she did not put the lid properly and when I took a sip the hot tea fell on my lap. Now Ive got a second degree burn on my thigh. So, just be careful if you go there as I think the staff is not properly trained. Moral of the story: double check your drink and dont assume a proper and professional handling of your beverage.

Hi,I am a big coffee lover and I spend 10$ a day on various cafes in my area. This is my worst second cup experience ever. I went to a second cup and cie on Saint-Catherine St W Suite 1166, Montreal, Quebec H3B 1K1 at friday 22 october around 9.30 pm. I quickly needed to use the washroom first so I was heading straight to the washroom the lady at the counter shouted and stopped me and her tone was very rude and she said where are you going.. I said I am going to the washroom quickly.. She said you have to start by ordering first- I said I need to use the washroom first as it was urgent and then I will order. she said no.... Worst experience I was planning to stay there for an hour but decided to leave asap... You guys have surely lost a customer for good... this never happened to me in starbucks.. you really need to give more training to your staff.. no customer service at all... no concept of courtesy and politeness

Amazing with very cute girls serving. Not a real quiet environment if you want to study but overall I love it !!! Note: I don’t like all there cake they all have a very strong taste of a weird cheese and it is relatively expensive:’(

Dont waste YOUR TIME. The white chairs in the back are EXTREMELY UNCOMFORTABLE! You cant sit and stay for hours with a chair like that because they dont want you to. Instead of an inviting place to be, they do it on purpose so that you buy expensive drinks, stay 10 mins and leave (in and out of the store as quick as possible).I miss the old coffee shops that would make it cozy for you - I felt like I was entering an inviting urban oasis. I used to go to relax and read because I enjoyed the peace and the nice chairs they had. Then they remodeled. It wasnt a place I wanted to relax at anymore.Therefore, if coffee shops owners don’t want us to come and relax for an hour and do our work, we shouldn’t give our business. We should go to McDonald’s for $1hr latte and go home or at park outside or go to a public library (they now have a coffee shops, FREE FAST Wi-Hi (100Mbps), all the books in the world and VERY COMFORTABLE SEATS & FANTASTIC VIEW! Check out the Bibilotheque Nationale library on Maisonneuve & Berri.

Very popular coffee shop that serve Pinkberry as well. The staff was really patient and friendly as we took forever to decide what to order. She made suggestions even though there was a line she took her time explaining choices.The coffee here was really good, we ordered the blended creme caramel frocho. They serve fresh desserts, smoothies, frappes, chai tea, espresso and so much more. They also serve food for breakfast and lunch.

Wonderful and kind service. They were delightful, even though I forgot a fair chunk of my high school French. 😊 The coffee is delicious and not bitter, and I would gladly walk a few blocks to visit Second Cup again!

An ideal coffeeshop for those of us who like to roll till dawn. Good coffee and tea, nice setting, a variety of desserts (not too fresh, but maybe its the late-hour call), big space. A hangout for students. Toilets are clean. The best feature is the 24/24 hours. Employee a bit grumpy...

This is the BEST Second Cup location. Great service and the drinks are made well. It is two levels and clean. A lot of room with lots of seating. Many power outlets available for people to sit and plug in. Huge selection of cakes and snacks. Wifi is meh - difficult to connect at times.

This second cup is on my way to work and Ill stop in randomly in the morning. More often than not, the service is hit or miss. Service is usually long, cashiers customer service skills are meh (the baristas usually chat amongst each other while serving), its has happen that my drink order was forgotten and the toilets are filthy (no soap, no toilet paper, disgusting floor, blocked toilet - not cleaned in over 2 weeks according to the cleaning schedule). What makes this location good is the nice layout and the random discount on coffee when you have the app. But I would rather visit one of the other 2 second cups on my way to work. Really need to step it up to deserve the second cup banner.

Walked in once again batch 49 was not ready it was cold so why advertise it if you cant get it hot. I asked for a bagel. There was no bagels..... seriously? Coffee in morning when I go before work is Luke warm nevee hot......come on management or new owners....some people still work downtown all the places around are closed...you need to step up.....its annoying now

At the midst of the Covid pandemic and they still didnt want to open the upper floor to accommodate more people and allowable better social distancing. I was sitting there and working on my stuff, with people touching my shoulders while going to order coffee. Totally unacceptable. Theyre trying to cut on costs by avoiding to open the upper part and therefore not have someone clean it up. Oh and bathrooms are closed... Definitely not putting my money there anymore.

The Hot Chocolate was Life. The Barista with her Chelsea Haircut and LOVING SERVICE WAS EVERYTHING

The general setting is fine. Service is very fast paced as would be expected from a coffee shop located downtown. However it is closely set up in terms of tables and public place. The bathroom are straight filthy and wildly unkept. It is my understanding that some of the people who benefit from it are not necessarily customers. The bathroom did not even indicate a daily upkeep..

Service is fine, employees are cordial. My critic is to the slow service and the lines, as well as the numerous times my order was wrong (either done wrong or the wrong coffee altogether) yet someone argued back with me instead of just remaking the coffee...they also very often put regular milk even though I always order a substitute, which isnt cool because 1) you pay an extra fee for that substitute, almost a dollar 2) many of people cannot have dairy or dont want to 3) its not what I ordered. So I have to be very clear when I do order here so I dont have to come back. Wish they would just pay more attention.

Second Cup on Saint Catherine on that stretch should be inaccessible and exclusive, hustling along the patrons. On the contrary, people stick around for that second cup , enjoying conversation or reading their lessons or socializing.Unlike Starbucks, I didnt have to plug in a key code to hit the Johnnie. The lighting made the interior feel bright and light-hearted, even though people were sleeping in place, the one or two or three unfortunate customers, the homeless. Most folks looked well housed and well fed, so theres a mix of people here. Cool to see that they are proudly Corporate Canadian.

It’s not because it’s “covid rules” that you can’t put a little music/ambiance in the place... Orherwise, love this location!

Second Cup is a great coffeeshop. Super happy with everything there. I honestly killing two births with one stone : enjoying a hot drink and taking rest :) I just wish to see more comfortable seating places rather than the wooden chairs and benches.

Decent coffee (medium roast) and reasonable prices. Service was good. No complaints - wasnt amazing, but wasnt bad either.

Drinks not consistent

I hadnt been to a Second Cup in probably 10 years. A friend treated me to some coffee and this was the closest spot. The layout was very different than the last time I had gone - a clean, modern look and well illuminated. It looks like a place where Id want to spend some time in. My friend got a regular coffee which she liked. I got a moccachino which was very tasty. Service was average with the cashier giving us random attitude, but the person who made and served our drink was friendly. I would give the visit 3.5 stars.

This is my first time that I am charged for cup of hot water. Today I ordered two pieces of cheesecake and I want a cup of hot water. She charged me $1.00 for hot water. I accepted and asked whether I can refill the water. She asked her colleague and said Yes to me. However, when I asked for refill, I was told to pay again. I was so disappointed for that.

Pretty deplorable Latte that tastes like coffee flavoured water. Its chain coffee... Support your local cafes instead and get a coffee which is made by a qualified barrister who knows and loves coffee. Wont return.

Nicely renovated second cup spanning two floors. It is not wheelchair accessible. The staff are nice and friendly. The food looks day fresh even when working there at 9:30pm. Too bad they close the upstairs early.

I love this Second Cup because they serve Good coffee in General. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars because its sometimes very slow even with little person in line waiting and they mess up my order to often or give it to someone else instead even though it have my name on it! Cant say I am a fan of these coffee shops, I stop by usually since others want a coffee and at least it is a Canadian store, but I find it frustrating to find a spot as there are so many people alone taking up tables for 4+. Also I find ti so wasteful, these companies can do so much more by offering glass cup for those who drink in store or a discount if you bring your own cup/therms, but none of these companies seem to care, so I avoid them and go places that have the same values as I do.

This second cup is nicely located in downtown Montreal... the ambiance is good and it is a good stop while youre doing things downtown. It is usually pretty crowded though.

Not the best cappuccino Ive ever had (the one I got was really aggressive on the foam and there was more bitterness, less smoothness than Id like). The bagel with cream cheese took a while to get ready. There was a short line but somehow they got confused about the line order so two people behind me in line were served before I was.

I always go here to study or read. Not the best views outside but even more to focus. Great coffee and bakery stuff. Staff are friendly too

Went in to redeem a free coffee offered. The cashier did not ask me if I wanted anything else with my order (which I did want a pastry). I asked for a cup of water as well. They ended up giving me my water in a porcelaine cup. its great that they gave me water in a porcelaine cup but I was on the go. Three baristas circled around to tell me its 75cents as if I worked there and should know. The experience at this second Cup was negative. I will not be going back.

The morning or over night is the best time to go for sure!!! Over night is PERFECT for studying, super quite and the night guy is super fun! Morning are super busy but the staff is always making jokes with the regulars, its quite entertaining! They mostly seem understaffed so the quality in service isnt the greatest not to mention they dont seem to have much time to clean the tables very often, but all in all its a great experience going here :)

Its a pretty typical chain coffee shop. I found the service pretty slow, but the place was pretty clean and priced about as expected.

They had good service and fantastic coffee. It has a nice, chill atmosphere and its usually pretty quiet.

The best one we have visited. Loads of comfy couches and a nice relaxed atmosphere to lounge to read a book or do some work.The music is a little loud though.

No soap in the restroom and when I asked the employee she said she will receive it the next day.Definitely a health hazard.Would not go there again

Great new design but 2nd Cup coffee is simply horrible. It just taste like burnt ashes. Even Tim Hortons or McDonalds taste better. Pastry are on par with other coffee shop, who are just as horrible.Better get your coffee at a pastry or bakery, they usually sell good coffee.

I have lost my laptop there most probably stolen. I went police station to report. After that I went back to here and ask them to see the camera records. Very helpfull waitress listened to me and went to asked the manager but she turned an told me that their camera wasnt work, so no records.

My friends and I are tourist in the area and needed water and coffee and to use the washroom. We visited this location and were waiting in line while one of our friends went to the washroom and the male at the front counter was angry. He said we had to buy something to use the washroom as we were already standing in line asking to purchase coffee. I feel after he heard our English accents he was very discriminating towards us. We asked him for coffee and he refused us service. He ended up calling the police on us, for no reason. What a waste of tax payers money.I can’t believe there are still people out there like this.
