This 12th century temple is known for its stunning architecture. Comprising three separate, axially aligned and integrated elements — Surya Kund, Sabha Mandap and Guda Mandap — the temples peculiarity is that every summer solstice the first ray of the sun is said to shine on the Sun Gods idol (which has long been decimated by Mahmud Ghazni, but the idols place is still there). The interesting facet about the temple is the play of time — 52 pillars placed in a geometrical manner in the Sabha Mandap to signify the 52 weeks of the year, the goddesses of morning and evening, the division of seven sections for the days of the week and 365 elephants forming the base of the Sabha Mandap for each day of the year.....

Almost a thousand-year old structure in grandeur is a great heritage place to visit. Still under restoration. Water needs to be filtered in the pond.
One of best heritage sites of India. We all should maintain it properly.
