Id like to share a catering experience.I ordered food from India cafe twice, once for my house warming and another for my sons birthday. Both the times, it was a wonderful experience. The biriyanis (mutton and chicken) were a hit and the guests loved it. The flavor, rice, meat all were cooked to perfection. The appetizers were also good and loved by all. The owner was wonderful to work with. He worked on the price and also added the desserts on the house (that was a hit too)!!This is a definite must try for party orders. You and your guests will like it for sure. Support local.

The owner is very polite, nice and generous. The food is so so so good.You get a lot of good food for a reasonable price! I recommend it for every one. They have good dessert too. I might be back again tomorrow!

Good food and welcoming staff. A little time consuming as the orders take some time to be prepared, hopefully because everything is cooked to order. Small establishment but considering no dine in is currently offered overall a nice place for take out Indian Pakistani food. They say the food is halal and have some Islamic art in the restaurant which seems like the owners might be from Pakistan... would recommend for a quick bite.

Delicious and authentic Indian food. Its like going to someones house for a home-cooked meal, which is always prepared top notch and as it should be (real ingredients, real food!). Host was really welcoming. A definite must-try!

Phenomenal experience!!! I only got take-out but the owner & her staff were all incredibly welcoming & very attentive of my needs the entire time I was there.Everything from the decor, to the taste of my dishes, & service, were all perfectly on point. This is a Twin Cities MUST EAT spot for certain, if you havent already been here!! You can truly feel & see the authenticity of this restaurant with the ambiance theyve created & the food they offer.I cant wait to be back for more, and actually dine in with them once the pandemic is over!

Our server was very friendly and she gave us recommendations on what to order. The kachori chat and kothu paratha were really good. The board outside is very old has certain menu items which are not offered any more. India Cafe doesn’t have the best indoor seating, but the food was delicious.I’d come again if I am in the area.

AVOID ONLINE ORDERING. When I arrived to pick up my food, I was told they never received my order because their computer is broken. I waited an additional 25 minutes after reiterating my order in person. By the looks of it, I wasnt the only one waiting. Food was okay. They forgot to give us chutney with the samosas, and the dosa was soggy. Honestly, I much prefer takeout from Aroma (also in Bloomington) but they were closed today which is what brought me here. Service was not the most friendly, but you could tell they were stressed from their backup of missing orders. There wasnt really an apology for the inconvenience or anything to make up for it, just a hurried heres your food attitude. This was my first (and probably last) time coming, but if youre looking for takeout, Id highly recommend placing your order over the phone and NOT online.

Stopped here while visiting the area. Impressive menu with lots of Southern Indian fare and great service. Good selection of vegetarian options.

Good non expensive places for lunch and dinner. Buffet assortment not so bad (if you like hot and spicey Indian food). I love spicy food. Chicken tikka masala is perfect. But for my wife a little spicey. Add this cafe to my favorite list.

This place was great, excellent variety of flavors and amazing value. Staff was friendly. Our food was fresh and ready quickly. Definitely worth supporting through the pandemic and beyond!

Greatest hole in the wall Indian Restaurants.

Wildly delicious. Got samosas, butter chicken, and Dahl. The butter chicken had a certain spice to it that I havent had before in butter chicken but it was really lovely. The Dahl was really home-y. The man at the front was very friendly and asked me if I wanted extra rice. My only critique is that the somasas were a little small.

This restaurant now has my favorite foods. I really love indian food for its spicy and rich quality. The service is amazing, and the food here is just phenomenal. My favorite was the Goat Dum Briyani, but the Mysore Masala Dosa was also really GOOD... and some good old Chicken Tikka Masala went really well with the butter naan!*UPDATE* In Covid:So I have been coming here for a few years and even in Covid this place doesnt cease to amaze me. The service is still AMAZING and they care a lot about the covid regulations and etc. Their food is still unbelievable tasty and I can tell how authentic it all is. Their dosas are so good that its usually one of my top 3 of things to order when I go there... on a side note when ordering a dosa you should be aware that eating in the restaurant vs. Togo is the better option as the foil tends to ruin the crispy-ness but they cant control it and to be honest, both ways... IT STILL TASTES INCREDIBLE. I cant wait for the buffet to open again once this pandemic is taken care of. I have really been craving their tandoori chicken lately and during Ramadan my family and I love getting takeout from them and to be honest even during covid their prices are verrrryyyy reasonable and is totally worth it!!!

Omg nothing like a meal that reminds you of home!!

Pepper chicken was rough and felt chewing rubber. Briyani had no juice of spices or rather no taste. I would not recommend unless you had no option like me to run into this place.

The food took awhile but it was so worth it, I felt like I was in India tasting the real deal ...absolute perfection!

Ive been eating here for years. The buffet is fantastic and their dishes are all sooooo good! I love the aloo masala and gulab jamun. Ive been to India a few times and the food here is just as good, perhaps even better.Everything is reasonably priced too.

This is really a good place for nice Indian food with very good amount of items. They have very special items which you should try for sure.Was craving for some nice vegetarian food and here we got to go for veg thali.This was so nice and same as we get in India especially Like Andra meals with rice, chapathi, curries all arrived in big thali and small bowls. I really love the way. I missed it since I was in US but I don’t think I’m gonna miss thali anymore.

Worst dosa I ever head. The owner is very unprofessional. Feel sick after eating food there. Poor execution of COVID guidelines.

They deceive people in the name of chicken 65. It was merely a tiny piece of chicken wrapped with heavy thick breading, and that didn’t really taste good.They also charged $7 for only two bottle of fanta!Giving two because the masala dosa was good, though they didn’t serve all the chutneys.

Spice Lover’s delight—India Cafe! Delicious food, amazing variety, friendly and respectful hostess and cool new remodeling! If you have not already visited them and tried the new set-up and the delicious menu, you are missing something special! I have been catering food from them for the last 7 years and I am always pleasantly surprised by how creative, flexible and reliable they are! Oh, and they catered food for my wedding as well!

I have been to several Indian restaurants in the twin-cities metro area, and this restaurant is better than most of them in terms of taste. The price is not high and one of only few restaurants which serves south Indian cuisine of authentic taste. Their lunch buffet is cheap and never been disappointed. They have more than few vegetarian options in buffet as well as non-veg. The hosts are very polite and service is good. I would go again and again to taste their food.

Catered at our office. Could not have been more helpful or accommodating. Everyone absolutely LOVED the food and we plan to make it an annual event. Cant wait for the next one! I will have to head to the restaurant to before then to satisfy the craving.

Im so stoked about discovering this hidden gem in the Twin Cities! Everything from the staff, food, to atmosphere/decor is incredibly impressive! The food here is so delicious & the spices are mixed perfectly! I came in with a large group of 13 people on New Years, and their manager, Twinkle, was incredibly accommodating of our entire group, and especially my grandparents (who were both in wheelchairs). I was very pleased with their hospitality & taste of their dishes! Will be back for more!

Wow this is such a cute hole in the wall spot!!! I cant believe I hadnt given this place a shot earlier! Definitely one of my new favorites for Indian & Indo-Chinese fusion now! The food was amazingly delicious and fresh tasting & also their South Indian dishes were exceptionally made! Left very impressed with the food and super friendly service & staff! Overall delicious. Lamb Biryani, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Chicken Kadai all excellent. Good garlic naans, samosas, and mango lassis. Only disappointment was the tandoori chicken -- old and very dry. Clearly made hours earlier or perhaps even yesterday. Pretty much inedible. Real shame and let down an otherwise superb meal.

My co-workers and I eat out here at least 2x a week for lunch and even if we cant make it in, well usually order takeout & get delivery. Their dishes are incredibly delicious & their staff is super helpful and flexible with whatever wed like to order! Best spot for Indian food cravings in Twin cities!

This place is amazing!! We’ve been there plenty of times on our way back from Menards. They just redid the interior for their 10 year celebration. It’s truly a hidden gem!! We can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. 5 stars all day!!

Most authentic Indian food I have ever had in the US. The staff is very courteous. The food is cooked to perfection and that takes some time so have some patience, it will be worth it!

I recently catered for them for my corporate office christmas party (food for about 250 ppl) and everything was EXCELLENT. They prepared everything in a timely fashion, and met all our spice requests just perfectly! All my co-workers couldnt stop talking about how delicious everything was too! Such great authentic tasting food! I ordered online and got biryani, goat curry & dosas for the family & everything was ready on time & kept warm for me. They even provided me a complementary free dessert for their Christmas special! Great experience overall, will be back for more!

I ordered 4 chicken 65 biriyani. It took them an hour to get it ready. It was also very overpriced. To top that off, the guy who took my order also seemed sassy and unfriendly. Overall, i had a horrible experience here.

I am kind of a regular customer and really enjoy the food here. They make the nan in the restaurant and it’s always fresh. The biriyani is also good to taste. This place is a better Indian restaurant compared to other desi restaurants in twin cities.

Incredibly professional & impressive staff! Our team called in to cater over 7 large trays of chicken & veg curries, basmati rice & 200 naan breads from them, just 2 days before one of our other caterers backed out due to kitchen issues, but India Cafes team worked with us & delivered us the exact dishes we needed, in all the dietary specifications we provided! We could not have been more pleased with the service or food! Everything was excellent! Our team is so grateful to have found them when looking for a last resort! We will most certainly be back for other future event needs!

I ordered the Chili Chicken and it was phenomenal. I ordered with Eat65 and it was flawless. If you call ahead for pickup make sure you give them about 20 minutes or so because everything is made fresh. Great service and very nice people. It looks family owned and operated so I like that idea as well.

Weve returned many times to this little restaurant in a Portland Ave strip mall. We discovered it a few years ago and, while we have spoken highly of it to friends, we have jealously guarded it as our favorite Indian Cuisine restaurant. That was unfair, perhaps, because India Cafe deserves every opportunity to please many more diners for years to come. It it a small place, unpretentious in appearance while outstanding in its offerings. We have chosen from the extensive menu as well as from the buffet. The prices are very affordable. The staff is friendly and ready to answer any questions and make suggestions, especially when I want to try something different than my favorite chicken curries and palak paneer. Weve never been disappointed. I wish we lived in the delivery area: in all sincerity, we could eat there once a week. A glass of wine with dinner would be a great addition, but since thats not an option, the excellent chai is fine. A very satisfying experience! Recommended.

We love Indian food and in my book this is some of the best in town. The korma dishes are to die for but everything is excellent. Friendly staff in a small but comfortable venue, its nothing too fancy but we dont go there for atmosphere, we go for the taste.

Chicken Vindaloo was tasty and the naan fresh. As the name says, this is a cafe with no frills - honest and efficient. Prices are very modest. For a quick Indian food fix, this place works great.

I went to India Cafe desperately looking for a place in Minnesota with great goat meat! I hadnt heard any reviews and wanted to give them a shot. The goat was for my grandma who absolutely loves it and it was her 72nd birthday. She cant handle a lot of salt so when I brought it to her she was hesistant. But then she tried it and said it was the best goat she had ever had! 100% recommend. The staff was very friendly as well!

I love India Cafe. It’s a monthly to bi-monthly Friday night dinner for our family. The cheese naan is outstanding, and some of our favorites are the Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken. Their tea is delicious as well. The staff is friendly and the food is authentic and full of flavor. I would highly recommend India Cafe.

June 2014 visit. Large menu of items this Midwest born and raised Indian food aficionado had not seen before. Helpful wait staff and some great looking dishes coming out of the kitchen. Good fresh made samosa and the mango lashi was a real treat. Dont let the exterior of this strip mall hole in the wall fool you. Looking forward to my next visit.

This is worst food exp I had in my entire life. Any kid would make better food than this. Only Somalians staying nearby would have been given good reviews. I can’t imagine how someone can even rate the food. It was pathetic. Still anyone want to verify, waste your money and join the league...
