Had the best experience at this lovely restaurant! The service was impeccable and the food was absolutely exquisite! From start to finish this dinner was amazing! The menu has a small but wonderful array of delicacies to choose from between me.and my husband we sampled 6 items from the menu (2 of which were amazing deserts). Thank you for such a wonderful dinning experience, we will definitely be back next time we are in Melbourne!

Always a joy to have breakfast here with the family. Excellent food service and staff that go out of their way to make a slow birthday breakfast an absolute joy. Thanks to the chefs who make the best omelettes and near perfect poached eggs to go with all the regular options in the chafing dishes. Thanks again and looking forward to next year!

Went for the high tea at Collins Kitchen for a special occasion. We have dined at Grand Hyatt around the world so we expected a certain level of standard. The food was good, however service was not up to scratch. We weren’t happy with the table that they took us to as 1) we requested a better seating as it was a special occasion 2) there was no social distancing with the patrons next to us 3) there seemed to be a few vacant seating available in the restaurant that we can be moved to. So, we kindly requested to be moved to a better seating. The waitress seems annoyed that we requested this and instead of trying to see if we could be moved, she just started making up excuses why this cannot happen. She keeps on saying that we need to book if we wanted better tables (and yes, we did book in advance!).Thankfully the manager (didn’t catch his name but has a French accent) came to the rescue and moved a couple of tables around to accommodate our request. We are willing to go back but hope that the waitresses will be more professional next time!

We had the tasting menu for four which was king fish crudo (delicious) and spicy lamb ribs (really good), the main was beautiful roast chicken and yet more ribs (which while being tasty meant there was a lack of variety). The sides of mashed potato was small for four people and the cabbage slaw was a disappointment with little flavour. The desserts were excellent and the service was really good, so all in a very good meal.

We came for the Fathers’ day high tea buffet on saturday since we have other plan for the actualy fathers’ day on sunday. The food and service was great, especially the dessert selections. Not only they all tasted delicious, I found the dessert related puns so cute, funny, and creative, very dad appropriate. We all had fun checking out the puns as we got our dessert. You can feel so much thought was put into this buffet, everything was fresh and definitely made in house, not like in typical buffet. I have been to many buffets and the quality of desserts here is outstanding. My favorite had to be the lamington pavlova with lots of fresh berries and the creamy pop corn cream brulee. My dad loved the tiramisu, really strong coffee flavour and a good punch of booze. Cheesecake was no doubt popular with everyone and the little watermelon macarons were so freaking cute.Overall, we had such a good time and this is such a good value for money. We can’t wait to return to Collins Kitchen to check out other special occasions’ buffet and see what other interesting things they have to offer.

We went for the $79 High Tea. The Chandon Blanc de Blancs was surprisingly good, contrary to average sparkling wine usually included in Afternoon Tea. Both cold and hot savories were scrumptious especially the latter matched so well with each of the accompanying sauces. For the patisserie, only half the number of items of what was shown on sample menu was available, and also they did not taste as good as they looked - among them the best were peanut butter choux, coconut mango rice pudding and seasonal fruit crumble but Golden Gaytime brownie bite was our least preferred. Ice cream was smooth and soft - both Amaretto and Vanilla Whiskey were to die for.Request for a nice photogenic table for special occasion was well entertained. Complimentary plates for birthday celebration were beautifully made and presented by friendly staff who sang us a birthday song. For the price it was definitely a nice high tea experience overall but: out of the only three floral/fruity tea options, one was not available. Warm scones should not be brought to the table at the very beginning of the sitting when guests barely started first bite of savories. Second sitting started at 15:30; buffet closed at 17:30; guests got rushed away at 17:45 and told to finish their plates in the bar - probably the shortest time allowed for an afternoon tea of its kind that we had had.

Located inside The Grand Hyatt. Lovely place for breakfast. We went on a Sunday, didnt need a booking or to be staying at the GH. Beautiful, comfortable and generous seating (chairs that are actually nice to sit in!) with plenty of space between tables makes it feel luxurious. You can either eat from the buffet or from the menu. We chose the menu. The food is great although I think they might have served us eggs that had been sitting in the buffet for a while because the yokes were hard, this was the only disappointment. Their coffee is absolutely fantastic!

Value for money paid. The restaurant was well furnished. Clean and tidy. Staff were very attentive and customer oriented. The food quality was excellent. Fresh and flavorful. Fresh oysters, tuna and salmon sashimi, assorted sushi, crabs, shrimps, mussels, salmon roe and tobiko were refilled immediately half plate empty. The quinoa salad was tasty. There were dim sums, fried noodles, fried rice and various hot dishes like pizza, lamb, fish, beef, roast pork, duck and chicken for selection. The dessert corner displayed many mouthwatering nibbles. All food consumed exceeded expectations and delicious. Highly recommended.

While certainly $$, for that special occasion this is worth it. Cant wait to visit again.

Dined here on a Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed the buffet. At $89 per head for lunch, this was as good, in in several cases better than our dining experiences at the Conservatory and Melbas on Southbank. The sushi/sashimi bar was very fresh. The kitchen was the showpiece with chefs constantly producing fresh top ups. As they only cooked up small batches, there was never any food sitting in the serving areas for hours on end. Also on offer were gourmet pizzas, dumplings, Chinese, lamp chops, and heaps of fresh seafood, mussels, prawns, crab and oysters. Service was excellent with water constantly being topped up and plates cleared. All waiter staff were smiling and not afraid to say hi and ask how your day was. Then if you were still hungry there were more than 20 different hot and cold delicious dessert offerings. Definitely will be back!

I had “ High Tea in Style by Christina Re” several times with my family at this place because my daughters love the desert buffet. We went there last December a couple of days before Christmas. That would be my last time to frequent this place.Throughout the whole time, only one waitress who was friendly and attentive. Besides that, no customer service whatsoever! We even had a waiter rolled his eyes on us when I told him he brought the wrong food to our table regardless of my previous request. When he finally brought the correct food back, he just dumped the plates on the edge of the table and walked away. And then when I made the payment, the man who seemed to be in management just grabbed my card and inserted it in the machine then gave the card back and that’s it! No manners, no smile, no season’s greeting, no thank you, no goodbye and he didn’t even bother to give me the receipt!Seriously rude !

We attended Collins kitchen for a bridal shower. Booked three months in advance and dietary requirements were given when booked. Big group that had, diary free, vegans, vegetarians and gluten free. Our waitress came around the table and marked the dietary requirements we had. And assured us it would be fine, “they’re used to it.” Entree would be brought to the table and main/dessert would be at the buffets. Instructed to ask the chefs at the main buffet what was vegan, if they had nothing they would make something and educate us on this. Entree comes over, and those with dietary requirements waited another 20 minutes for their own plates.Vegans went over to the buffet for main and asked the chefs what we could have. We were instructed to sit back down at the table as they had nothing available and would bring it over. Chef came over to the table not long after and asked if vegans could eat bread. We said yes as long as it had no dairy or egg in it. He proceeded to say “it has a little bit of butter milk in it, is that okay?” Which made us all want to eat nothing because how can anyone trust a kitchen if the chef asks this.Everyone at the table was on dessert when the first vegan option came at. The waitress came over and asked why one of us wasn’t eating it (because they had mushrooms in it, and there was other food coming)She then said “oh theres been a miscommunication with the kitchen and they didn’t know you weren’t eating mushrooms, the kitchen closes in 20 minutes so we can’t make you more dumplings” no miscommunication, no one had any idea what food we were actually going to be given. Proceeded to say that’s fine, if there’s mushrooms in it one of the other vegans can have it, it’s not a big deal, nor did we ask for more dumplings??Waitress then asked “well are you allergic to mushrooms or just don’t like them?”Chips can over, ate one and tasted like straight sea food. Serious cross contamination, which usually I just bite the bullet on because some times it can’t be helped, but these were inedible due to the oil they used.Everyone at the table had finished there dessert by this time. Plates came over for the vegans that were a baby pizza base, with tomato paste and rocket on it. The rocket was dressed in olive oil and salt only. So salty that no one could eat it, I swear my lips are still dry.A sandwich that tasted like stale bread (hopefully not the one with buttermilk in it) and just roasted Vegetables. The tiny side salad with Italian dressing was the only thing we ate, while everyone at our table had finished their whole 3 course meal.We were assured the dietary requirements were absolutely fine, but they clearly had no idea what was going on and grabbed any vegan ingredient they could to make a inedible and disgusting meal. Also when they say there is vegan desserts, they mean fruit and sorbet. We paid $75 each to eat some tiny entree pieces and a side salad as we had no idea what we were really being served and frankly didn’t trust it at that point. If it was not a bridal shower I would have stopped eating and refused to pay after the entree (which was not amazing either, stale bread and hummus in dry pastry) Absolutely the most ridiculous place I have ever eaten food at.
