Fed Square is a central place in the heart of the city opposite the Flinders Street Station & is a popular meeting place for people in the city. It opened in 2002 and holds many events and activities throughout the year. There is always something going on here so worth hanging out. The Atrium has amazing architecture has art galleries, museums and restaurants as well. Highly recommend this place to spend some quality time with friends and family.

Fed Square is the best ever and I love the place so much.Whenever I fly into Melbourne (I live in Sydney), after I eat breakfast at Degraves St, I just have to go to Federation Square.Really nice spot, great visuals, top cofeee and its like totally wonderful.LOVE IT!

Fed square is possibly the most happening square/ outdoor space in Melbourne. There is a something happen in my here from multicultural festivals to movies to outdoor exhibitions ( plus a lot more). There are also a lot of other attractions surrounding this place too. A must visit if in Melbourne!

There are some pretty cool bars/restaurants on the riverside but also interesting museums and galleries near the square itself

I had heard of Federation Square in passing and thought it would be a good idea to check it out, how right I was! It is so vibrant and interesting that it would take a couple of days to really experience all that it has to offer.I was particularly impressed with the art in the Ian Potter Centre.Federation Square is a must if you are going to Melbourne.

Cool place to hang out (when its allowed, ofcourse). Host of events keeps you engaged. The large screen keeps you glued to live actions. The relaxed seating has been s good addition in recent days - allows you to lay back and enjoy the sumptuous food around around the outlets, and the big screen.

Pixar putt was great nice to see some rotation in the schedule for entertainment. Highly recommend checking upcoming events and heading in. Easy access via public transport to.

We went there very late so we havent seen the Christmas tree lights. If you want the Christmas tree photos to yourself go here on weekdays before 11:30pm, dont go on weekends its jungle out here 😁

I was surprised how fashion this square is, the building is wonderful. Compared Sydney, I think Melbourne is much modern and activities.After world hard time, when everything is open, recommend tourists come to see Melbourne.

Good to take a break in city.

With roadworks going on and public access blocked from two sides, it might be disappointing to go here at the current timing. Please consider entering from acmi side or the river side.Lovely area with lots of events going on which changes every now and then. Will be good to check on event updates and visit it.

Not a bad little outdoor areas with a few cool things to look at. The museum had nothing to show sadly as they were renovating. There is a nice pub there and we were lucky enough to be there on Star Wars day (May the 4th) and met up with a few friends who were in costume. Also the X-Wing was on display!!

Even due to covid, the management has managed it really well and provided safe entertaining areas for families.

We went there for the 🎅 .I expected more decorations but it was not in expected level.So many people were at that time,so want to waited more time to take a poto. Hopefully will arrange morethan this year. ✌️✌️

Fed square is always fun to visit, though the construction is a but much at the moment. Did an Aboriginal cultural heritage walk, which was really interesting.

It was good. We rode there and we found it was verrrry user friendly. Nice toilets.

The square is across the road from Flinders Street Stations main entrance. After heading up a set of shallow stone stairs, you end up in the large plaza, which included a stage. I was there when it was empty and was able to look at the design on the floor. There were really interesting looking buildings lining the edge of the square, both in colour and shape. There are also a few dining areas around including Niska, the robot ice cream bar.I quite liked the games scattered around the square, as well as umbrellas and seating so you can just relax for a bit there. There is also a set of stairs that take you down towards the river side for a nice stroll.

It seemed a smaller than usual (construction) people were making the most of it with what was on offer. Good to be out ...

A great public space to hang out at, mostly they host various kind of festivals with cool activities and competitions, food stalls etc.

One of the iconic places in Melbourne. Great spot to sit down and enjoy the views of early morning or late afternoon rush. You just need to find a seat across the Cathedral. The intersection really gets crowded with people, buses, and trams. If youre a tourist, its the place to go.It is basically close to some of the popular CBD attractions so this is always a perfect spot to start your day tour.

Great outdoor space for meeting up with your friends. Close to all Public Transport, shops and restaurants. A great place to watch sports on the big screen, day or night. And most recently the addition of the #UooUoo called #UooUoonicorn, one of the 100 UooUoos placed around Melbourne to raise funds for the Royal Melbourne Childrens Hospital. What a great city to live in.

Federation square is the hub of arts, entertainment, and events. There are so many things to do here spending on your interests. Art galleries can be a good start of your day. The Flinder Street station is just next block. You can only sit and soak the sun when Melbourne is sunny. Info hub is here to help you with directions and charge your devices. If you come to Melbourne, Federation Square is a great place to start off your vacation.

When you have no sense of art or architecture, but you got an opportunity to design some art square and some buildings, you will then design Fed Square. If you don’t get to design Fed Square, you can cross the road to some lane and spray rubbish on the wall and call it art and after that urinate on the wall. Tourists will come from afar to soak up the atmosphere and the aroma of your p*ss. Sums up the city, form over function. Actually, there is not even form.

Visited the square in first week of December.Was well decorated and decked up for Christmas.Its close to Flinder street station and on the banks of Yarra river.It was a weekend and with Christmas round the corner it was packed with families and kids.Lot of activities for kids were on and they were having a blast

Federation Square is an interesting site. It had people divided over its design from the very beginning... which is funny when you remember that the Sydney Opera House had the same problems 😉This is a good outdoor meeting area, as its located right next to Flinders Street Station, and has a number of activities and facilities located right next door. I like meeting up with people here, and I like the unique design of the buildings (based on mathematical principles or so I was told). Love this city!

Love this place! The museum, Restaurants, everything is amazing.If you ever get the chance, do the tour-explains everything about it. I remember that I watched AFL grand final on the big screen at fed sqaure. There is always something going on at fed sqaure. Overall-amazing & wonderful place to be there when one is in Melbourne.

This is Federation Square, one of my most favourite places in Melbourne CBD. I love going to this Melbourne location. I love coming to Fed Square to mostly see the really tall skyscrapers across the Yarra River. Its also a place where I can go sit down, relax in a quiet spot. And I was there earlier today on 31st March, 2021. I find Federation Square a very peaceful place, somewhere I can enjoy myself looking at the city, and watch the trams go past. But I mostly like being in shady areas without too much sunlight.

The place has a great vibe !The architecture is so amazing !I always go to federation square whenever I visit Melbourne.. its a place to relax .. have a friendly chat .. coffee .. food ...Its got a diversity with which you can relate to !I just love the place 💗

A sunny and breezy midday at 21degrees is a perfect summer Sunday! Taking in the sight and sound is pure magic.

Always something to do here.check out the free exhibitions around Fed Square, theres a big TV screen there that often shows some cool movies and there are deck chairs provided. If theres a special event on like watching a sports game get there early. Therere also some magicians which you can enjoy but that occurs on wekkends and occasionally can be any time.

Must visit place. Heart of Melbourne city. Next to Flinders Street train station and good place to take Panorama pics. Yarra river, free trams and gardens with lake view, ducks and boats and many more to explore at Federation Square.

Very disappointing that a multimillion dollar complex cant manage to get their parking right.If you make your patrons run around a parking structure to pay for your parking fee you shouldnt be charging anything.Took two machines to find one that works.Yeah... great place to go, but we went today for the parking.Sorry, you get 2 stars due to asking people to go out of their way for your incompetence.

Federation Square is a venue for arts, culture and public events on the edge of the CBD of Melbourne. It built above busy railway lines and across the road from Flinders Street station. It incorporates major cultural institutions such as the Ian Potter Centre and ACMI and Koorie Heritage Trust as well as cafes and bars in a series of buildings centred around a large paved square, and a glass walled atrium. The corner is occupied by a glass walled pavilion that provides access to the underground Melbourne Visitor Centre.A great place to spend an afternoon with friends and family.

Nice Architecture and Places to see...

Went to fed square today for pixar putt with the family. Loved it the pre booking meant no real ques and the sessions were limited enough you hardly had to wait. Great family fun it does end quickly so longevity isnt something to look for in this event. However I still recommend it for a laugh and a chance to get back out into the city..

Good place to relax. Melbourne is cool!

Good place to sit down and take in the hustle and bustle of melbourne. They’re are more than 470,000 ochre-coloured sandstone blocks from Western Australia and invokes images of the outback. The paving is designed as a huge urban artwork, called Nearamnew, by Paul Carter and gently rises above street level, containing a number of textual pieces inlaid in its undulating surface. MORE THAN 470,000 individual squares on the floor !!! Also acmi is great place for a fun weekend day with the kids/ family!

Today was the Moomba festival all of Melbourne gets involved they gave carnivals family fun water sports fire works bird man rally etc this happens every March we normally have a king and queen of Moomba it is a fun time for every one lasts 2 days make sure you wear comfortable shoes a lot of walking it was fun if you come to Melbourne at this time of year it is a must the kids will love it
