How much did they have to pay these people to look like they were happy and working? Theyre certainly not paying their regular employees that well.

The work is fascinating and the employees there are great team-players. However, the management there (Springfield) is less than ideal with its micromanagement, favoritism, stereotypes and cliques. They cherry-pick who they want to hire and retain, regardless of their skills, knowledge and experience. If you do insist on working here, please be aware of this negative environment and focus on the work only, if you can ignore the negative management. Overall, the types of work, regular employees and work locations are ideal, especially in Springfield.
