It has a Railway Station which connects to Mumbai. Station is old fashioned. However, one can get basic food on station like snacks, tea etc. Dont expect anything more here

Mavli Junction railway station is an important station under Ajmer railway division of North Western Railway zone of Indian Railways. It connects Marwar Junction , Chittaurgarh junction, Bari Sadri and Udaipur city. New residential colonies have come up around railway station. The town has a Navodaya Vidyalaya. The town has temple of Laxmi Narayan, Shriramji- Seetamata-Laxmanji (Akhada), Thirthankar Chanda Prabhu Swamy (Jain Temple), lok temples like Adra Bavji, Radaji Bawji and Chamunda Mata. There is a famous bawri (step well) known as Bai Raj Ki Bawri. Baijiraj Bawri was built by mother and sister of Rana Bhim Singhji between 1772 to 1780. This Bawri is given in dowry to Baijiraj Chandrawatiji.Over the years rainfall has declined and potable water is a big problem. Two ponds near the village namely Naya Talab (Hemsagar) and Nathela hardly get rainwater. Another big pond meant for irrigation namely Bagolia also remains dry, it was last overflown in 1973.The town is famous for its Sweet Rabdi.During early post-independence time after Udaipur and Dabok, it was Mavli, which had school up to middle level.The town is a Tehsil headquarters, having Panchayat Samiti and also subdivision office under Udaipur district. It is a Vidhan Sabha (State Legislative Assembly) seat and Shanti Lal Chaplot was elected from this seat. This town falls in the Chittaurgarh loksabha constituency.

The station is well connected to major north Indian cities and has the last Metre gauge line of Rajasthan. The Mavli Jn- Marwar Jn MG line is the only way to reach the beautiful Ghoram Ghat section which is mesmerising destination.The platform 2&3 are currently under repair but working while only platform 1 has #accessible toilets for disabled persons.The mavli-bari Sadri line is currently closed for gauge conversion.

This junction is used for booking railway tickets online. When we wanted to travel from chitoorgarh which is 2-3 hours away from this station, we booked the tickets from Mavli junction to Ujjain with the boarding point of chitoorgarh and we got the confirmed ticket. We tried to book from Chitoorgarh itself, for which no seats were available.

Its a junction which is 01 station away from Udaipur towards Chittorgarh.If you want to visit Nathdwara and if you are using train as travelling mode then this is the station you should get down.There are 4 platform at this Mavli Junction and the 4th one is used for meter guage trains which ply or run for local public to local areas.You can get out from both the sides towards 01 no platform is the main gate and the other side is open towards the other side and u can use this way if u want to catch a local bus.On exit from main gate u reaches to the parking lot from where u can hire vehicle of your choice for the place u want to go.The ticket window and the enquiry window is in the main entrance area so one can enquire about his needs and take the local ticket for the destination he want to go.The nearest railway station for Nathdwara and after getting down u can avail the vehicle or means of ur choice which is always available here.

Mavli is one of the older Railway stations of Udaipur District in Rajasthan. Mavli was once famous for its speciality रबड़ी, Rabdi or Rabri. Previously a few manufacturers of Rabri were famous here. They used to prepare very good quality and tasty Rabri. These days, you may not that old taste, but still, a few persons prepare tasty Rabri. Worth tasting.
