The place is filled with different viewpoints, to which you have to trek and go or have to take the horse ride. there is also the toy train ride, its only purpose is to bring you back to the starting point which you would find hard to walk back. The place will be fun for children and family.

Super location must visit good time in monsoon and winter. Can’t drive vehicles to this point so pollution free. You have to park vehicles at Dasturi point and come here by walk, by train or on horse. Some good points are there to visit those who can walk for longer duration visit these places by walk only to enjoy the natural environment and beauty. Small garden is also there for kids to enjoy.

Visited in last week on September 2021.The weather was very pleasant if you like rain and greenary.There was slight showers intermittently.The trek to different points was very much enjoyable due to overcast conditions.I observed a drastic difference in just 2 years as a lot of construction work is happening in Matheran now mainly building roads leading to view points.

Its a beautiful place to spend your weekend. However as its a green Zone, no bikes or cars are allowed inside. So you have to travel by horses (available with the vendors!) And the haathgaadi or just walk along the beautiful sceneries throughout! Beautiful waterfalls with mind blowing view.!

Simply the best hill station in Maharashtra periodNo Vehicles allowed so park at aman lodge. Around 70 rs per day.Then either take train from aman lodge till matheran or walk on foot via railway track route. Train will take 20 mins and on foot its 39 mins till matheran station.From station on left has market, then resorts and points. To the right there are budget lodges and few points.Left route is most popular.More than 25 Major points overall. Atleast itll take whole of 3 days to cover them. People who say it takes one day is enough, not sure if they have flying powers.The best way to see all the points is on foot. Occasionally one or two horse ride wont hurt much.Wake up lazily in morning, start by 12 after having breakfast and walk on foot, roam around all the points until 6:00 PM then just visit the market and shop etc.Remember it gets dark soon here.Day 1:- start from Louisa till sunset point. Around 6-7 points in the route.Day 2:- Lake, echo point till lord point. And also maldunga point till heart point.. Around 12-15 poino in route.Day 3:- Alexander point till belvadore point ( Best views). Around 7 points in routeJust follow the above routes. Vola, youve completely seen the best place.Monkeys and dogs are so friendly.It rains suddenly here and gets foggy too. Matheran is a very beautiful place.I was there with my friends and love on weekends and we all really enjoyed.The points were awesome specially LUIZA and SUNSET points.RAMBAG, LAKE VIEW, ECHO, ALEXANDER these are the other points we visited. Also beautiful.RAMBAG is point for SUNRISE. In the early morning you can experience beautiful sunrise if the environment is not cloudy.In the morning the nature of Matheran is foggy because of clods touches your face and it feels cold.Horse holders were also friendly and show us accurate paths pf points.Food were also delicious specially Vada Pav.Better to go without young friends and family because in all points either you have to walk or take horses. Horses are bit expensive but worth it.If you want to live with the nature then Matheran is the place were you can find peace, beauty of nature and happiness of soul.

It was wonderful experience when me and my family go to matheran and if i talk about food it was too good and I didnt find the words about atmosphere of Matheran really it so amazing......

Visited during the monsoon season and it was enjoyable... But its no vehicle hill station so be ready to walk a lot or to pay a lot to the horse people for daily visits to different points... Vehicles go upto dasturi point from there you can easily walk to aman lodge toy train station and take toy train to Matheran station for there everywhere you go youll have to walk ... We did the vikatgad peb fort trek from junction 134 it was challenging but not too long views are amazing and completely worth the visit given visibility is there because in monsoon often at the hill stations youll be covered in clouds and will not have the visibility... So if that happens no views of the valley so check weather forecast before going there...some of the view point are specially very good like Luisa point and one tree hill had exceptional views...food is available everywhere not too great not too bad ... Overall its a good place to visit after monsoon when weather is clear and if you like to take long walks

There are many things to do in matheran including lot of points to see with lake view and horse riding .The nature is at its pick here ....the most lovable thing about matheran is its nature.Things are little costly if u want to eat inside the matheran hills but that is manageable.The entry fees is 50 per person.The parking for 2 wheeler for 1 day is 45.Have a great weekend.

Enjoyed the foggy weather and walking..Cldnt get the toy train to enjoy the ride.. but overall it was good experience.Horse riding people there will try to make more money from you.. be ware of high pricing.

Matheran.. most beautiful place and full of nature. No vehicle allowed in Matheran behind Dasturi gate. You do have Toy Train which can take u from Dasturi to Matheran currently in monsoon. In other season you can use this train from Neral Station to Matheran. You can surely drive your car till Dasturi and park in the open parking. I will not recommend though as there are lot of Monkeys and they keep on jumping on parked cars. So suggestion is you can find hotels or parking place near Neral Rly station and there are cabs which can take u to Dasturi at cost of Rs 100 pp. So its upto you.Once you are in Matheran only 3 ways you can move a. Walk b. Horse c. Men Pulling you in Cart. So if u like to walk or horse ride then you will enjoy Matheran thoroughly as you can visit multiple points.I have visited Matheran between 2nd to 5th Sept 21. It was fantastic time to visit Matheran. We have enjoyed our visit thoroughly. The atmosphere was fantastic.Ensure that you are wearing good shoes which can last on muddy roads and on stones.

The place seems underdeveloped as on 2oct 21.There are guides and people with ponies who attack you with their deals.If you can walk for 2 .5 km ,its not a big deal. Bcoz riding a pony doesnt worth that much .The place is very beautiful but its not clean and underdeveloped.There is a narrow gauge train also which will give you a fun ride.

Beautiful Place to Visit. Easily accessible from Pune and Mumbai. In Mid-July 2021, We travelled early morning from pune on bike at 6 am and reached Dasturi Parking at 8.30 am. Best weather.Fog was there everywhere so you will not able to see the Valley and other mountains from any of the points. But it feels so peaceful there.From Dasturi parking, Matheran Railway station/city is located at 20-30 mins walk. Just follow the railway line from Aman lodge station to Matheran station. We just visited few points and Charlotte lake and were back to pune till the evenings. So yes, It is good place for hiking/one day trip/stay for weekend.

Visiting the place for the fifth time and every time the journey experience becomes unique and create special memories. All different weathers the hill station shows its different shades. Fabulous joy every time.
