I contacted Baba Electronics about replacing the defective charging port on my IPhone 5. I was quoted 1800 Rupees for the repair. I was not informed that there would be a further 1000 Rupee charge for the actual repair itself!On attending the shop inside Ghandi market, the proprietor was very friendly and explained that the repair was expensive due the high charges imposed by his suppliers. I informed him that the replacement part was available on Amazon for between 340 - 900 Rupees! He advised that the parts he uses are genuine Apple parts, however, there was no proof of this.Despite not being an approved Apple service centre, the repair was carried out and covered by a 6 month guarantee. The proprietor is clearly experienced in IPhone repairs and to date, my phone is working fine. Whether or not I use this service in the future remains to be seen.I would advise anyone using Baba Electronics to get a total cost before agreeing to any repair work being undertaken. Apart from that, Baba provides a convenient service, despite the expensive charges.
