Excellent stay for family not suitable for party makers

Blue bird is a clean, cool little Oasis in the otherwise crusty and crowded Vagator.Had a carrot and a watermelon juice which was perfectly refreshing and tasty. Recommend.

Very quaint and homely goan place. Its run by Antonio and Janet and their two girls and they are the warmest people you will find. The food is great, authentic and delicious goan cuisine cooked by Antonio and Janet themselves. We had a lovely meal there and would definitely recommend this place to people looking to get some good food in vagator. Oh, if all this isnt enough, Rambo the resident lab is a complete bundle of joy.

Came here for some lunch.. saw a couple of reviews.. sounded great..I dont know where to begin.. the food was amazing.. everything we ordered was seafood obviously.. the waiter/chef/owner is all one person.. he helped us decide and we got a home made amazing Goan lunch.. the service is fast the food is good and the ambience is nice.. they have a rooftop as well which is a great place to chill in the evenings..There is a tipping box as well.. if you feel generous and loved them as we did.. enjoy!! 😍😄Food - 9/10Ambience -8/10Value for money - 9/10Access - roadside easily spotted

Nice and cosy place to have some homemade Goan food. Have many options for non vegetarians but limited for pure vegetarians. Run by a lovely family, one feels relaxed sitting here. Food is delicious.

This place happened by chance and left and everlasting impression. Though most of Goa offers good and tasty sea food. This place is at another level all together. Barracuda done with garlic butter left me craving for more. Run by very humble family, this place is gem and must visit

I reached there post 3 pm. The place was shut but the owner was kind enough to let me in and gave me what I wanted to eat. I wont even comment on the food because it was beyond great but the hospitality of Mr. Antonio ( Owner & Chef ) was something I will always remember. I sat there and took about an hour to finish my Crab Xacuti and all along he was sitting there with me taking about everything from his everyday life to the key ingredients of Goan Cuisine and a lot of other things. Definitely a meal that I will never ever forget.

Run by this couple, they make you feel at home the moment you enter this restaurant. They hell you understand the goan cuisine, how it tastes and help you choose a right dish to suit your pallette. They dont oversell just because they can. I love this place.

The most delicious and balanced masala tea Ive tried in India. The host is a real PRO and passionate about what he does. What is also important, he is friendly and speaks fine English. Dishes may seem to be expensive but portions are so huge and delicious that you forget about that instantly.Updated after two more visits:Visited the place two more times including our last evening in Goa. You absolutely have to speak with Antonio and Janet as they are the most lovely people I’ve ever met in my life. Their love and family stories are fascinating, they also have a smart Labrador Rambo and this dog is full of stories as well :) Butter chicken is a must as well as masala tea. But if you can you should taste more as it is absolutely worth it. I hope to visit this place once again sometime in my life just to meet these people and feel the atmosphere

If I could give 10 stars to this restaurant I would. Food is so delicious! I tried 4 different vegetarian dishes and all of them were interesting and tasty. But from those the eggplant (Indian style) and the dhal makhani really stood out!

Our favourite place to eat in the whole of India. Amazing family run restaurant. Curries are different and much better than youll find anywhere else in North Goa. The owner is a very talented chef indeed and so passionate about cooking!I cant emphasise enough how much we enjoyed our meals. Only in Vagator 2 nights but ate here both evenings. Food and drinks are very reasonably priced. Dont miss your chance to eat here!Also the deserts are to die for. Try the bebinka and lemon cheesecake!

Sign up for a friendly chat with Chef himself as your order is taken explaining each aspect of what will make its way to your tummy. Awaiting our turn, have ditched Thalassas long queue quite a few times for this food joint.

Visited on New years Eve after partying the whole night. Got back with the cure to hangover with a Perfect goan dinner. Local cuisine such as Xacuti and vindaloo are must try. The king prawn masala is to die for. The overall experience is great.

I dont know how is the gest rooms looks like, clean or nice are they for staying. But I can guess, how is the gest rooms quality, by my experience of tasting food in the restoran which belongs to this place.We visit this place, first time long time ago in 2010 and that was my and my wife the best an experience of tasting the sea food. That time the owner of this place (and also he is the Chief of the restoran) lets us bring the sea creatures, which we would like to eat ( all that we want to try out, we bought on the sea food bazar (15 minutes away from Restoran, by the motorcycle). The Chief cooked the best way he can, all that we bought (as I said before, it was my best sea food experience)! By now, I can tell that his cooking Kung Fu, just getting better and better!:))The nice thing, at first time when we been there in 2010, we were young, with no kids yet. But the Antonio (Chief and owner) family, has at that time the little baby girl. By the visit in 2017, she grows and for as it was nice to see here and let her to meet this time our baby girl! :)Our daughter got the little present, with which she still playing)))So, I highly recommend to visit this place and taste the chief magic cooking experience.

We overheard someone recommending Bluebird for authentic Goan cuisine. The person said how not too many people know about this small family run restaurant.We reached there on a Wednesday night, 20 min before they close. ( they close at 10:30pm so plan accordingly). We were a big group of 7 people. Instead of turning us back, Antonio and his family beamed huge smiles and welcomed us in.We ordered fish cafreal, chicken zaccuti , Goa chill pork , stuffed crabs and jeera potato ( a must try ). Everything came with a generous serving of rice.The food was finger licking good. Wholesome. Highly recommend this place if you are foodie.

Seeing excellent reviews of the restaurant in trip advisor we tried their food as well and we were simply blown away with the amazing food they serve at Blue Bird.We normally do not repeat a food joint while visiting a place and try to explore as many different food options as we can. But the food at blue bird was so amazing we ended up having 4 meals and one breakfast there in our 4 days’ trip. The place is run by a couple, Antonio and Janet. Mr. Antonio himself personally takes the order from each guests and tries to understand their need. This personal touch sets this place apart.Location: Located close to the Little Vagator/Ozran beach.Ambiance: Homely and tranquil atmosphere. With decent décor.Service: Mr. Antonio’s personal touch makes this place very special. They will make you feel at ease and will try to help you out with your order. Service is quite good.Food: Coming to the main topic, the quality of the ingredients and veggies, pork or sea foods that are served are of best quality and very fresh. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. The breakfast options are definitely good but not something to die for like the other options.In lunch and dinner Goan, Indian, Italian and continental options are available and we found them equally good (we didn’t try the north Indian food). Below are the few items I feel are must try:Pork Vindaloo: One of best vindaloo I ever had, having the sweet, sour and the spicy flavours.Crab Xacuti: The best.Mackerel Recheado: Very authentic in tasteKing prawn’s okra curry: A very unique preparation, flavourful yet light.Angelina’s favourite seafood pasta: It’s simple the best seafood pasta I ever had.Kingfish butter garlic, try this item with their special jeera alu fry (instead of the usual mashed potato).

For veg food i dont recommend at all. No cheese in cheese paratha n yet they call it cheese paratha. North indian veg food is costlier like 5star

I have stayed here couple of times. Clean room. Excellent food. It is run by an very nice family. Vagator is not a crowded place like Baga or Calangute. Perfect place to relax.

Seafood is very very very tasty. They came for the first time. The chef approached us, talked about the menu, found out our preferences and helped us make our choice.Shoot up the shrimp and balkalagan in sauce. Deliciously tasty. They asked not sharply, everything was great and spicy, but not spicy. Real jam. We sat on the second floor.The restaurant at lunch does not work. Perhaps come only for breakfast or dinner.

It was the second time for dinner, Antonio (chef) personally explains what kind of dish, what and how the dish was made, which sauce (hot or not). Everything is just super !!! Delicious. We will have dinner only here.

For several years I have been a regular at Bluebird because it offers authentic Goan cuisine with excellent service and a nice ambience. The family atmosphere is ideal for a nice evening with Goan food. The operators help with all questions and are very helpful. Im looking forward to the Season 2018. Update in 2019 was all OK. I am looking forward to the season 2020
