GM always is a favorite place for India cuisine. And their home made cheesecake is a must for dessert.

Been a go to restraunt for delicious take out for years. Great food. Friendly staff. 1 star short simply because it seems the portions are little more sauce and a little less protein/veg in the take out containers than there used to be. But still delicious and worth the drive from Mission. 👌

One of the best Indian places I have ever had. Prices are reasonable considering the portions and the meat to sauce ratio is pretty good, definitely better than many other places where you get a couple chunks and that is it. Lots of variety, I urge you to try something other than Butter Chicken here as everything is approachable and tastes very good.

This is a place I have been going to for over 20 years and have spent quite a bit of money at in that time. Ordered some food today from GM and was very disappointed in what I had received once I got home. The creamy base of my dish(which is something I have ordered for years) was like water or watered down? I called and was very surprised that they would do nothing unless I drove all the way back because they didnt have a delivery service of their own. I asked to speak with the owner who was there and someone Ive had many conversations over the years with but he was busy at a table as the lady on the phone put it to me. I left her with my phone # and did not receive a call. Felt let down and over a $15 meal, they just lost a long time customer and didnt seem to care about it.

We ordered Tandoori Chicken and asked them to make it max spicy. Food quality and quantity was ok looks like someone need to tell the cook that its a Indian Restaurant and when someone asked to make it Max Spicy then food should not taste sweet. I understand they are targeting more Caucasian customers but the taste is no where near Indian recipes.FYI: Tandoori Chicken is one of the spiciest chicken just dipping half boiled chicken in red sauce and cooking it in Tandoor(Clay Oven) doesn’t qualify. At least offer hot sauce, seasoning, salt just in case some one is in hotel and regretting ordering food even after reading some bad reviews.

4 stars not 5 because I’m waiting to go back to try the food for the additional star. Didn’t eat the Indian food but heard about the cheesecake and decided to give it a try. Seems unusual for an Indian restaurant to do cheesecake but they do, and quite a wide selection at that! They sell spices , teas and other things too!! It’s a little gem! The owner is amazing and super friendly and so are his staff! The cheesecake is bar-none the best baked cheesecake I’ve had . Bought 3 different flavours and every single one was creamy, tasty and bloody marvellous!! Just based on how friendly the owner was, I’ll definitely be back to try the food and no doubt add that extra star .

Asked for as spicy as possible and they delivered. Best butter chicken I have had. Will be my go to place now.

Words cannot describe my experience dining at this restaurant with my daughter and my husband. The owner was the one that served us and he greeted us like we were family and it was our first time to the restaurant. The food was some of the best Indian food we have ever had and The cheesecake we had for dessert was delicious and worth the $8. Even though we are moving to Walnut Grove, We are more than happy to make the commute back to the restaurant, the experience alone is worth the commute!! Well done GM.P.S.Being open for almost 2 decades says ALOT about a restaurant, especially with 4.7 stars.

I just want to say how much I love this restaurant!! The employees are polite and welcoming. The owners are so kind!! The food is always the best. Not to mention the cheesecake!! We order from here quite frequently because the service is as fantastic as the food tastes! Thank you so much for the experience being great, each and every time

Only open for takeout right now.I ordered the lunch butter chicken thali: this is large. I ordered mild and I would say it was mild/medium. Large chunks of chicken breast, stewed veg on the side.The roti wasnt my favorite, kinda dense and bland.The temperature of the food wasnt hot, Id say almost lukewarm but not cold.I tried the paneer and spinach samosa: very dense and kind of sticky inside, but delicious.Id order it again as the temperature thing wasnt a huge deal. But Id definitely get a piece of naan instead of roti.

Weve had eat in (pre covid) as well as take out from this restaurant so many times and the food is always fresh and delicious. I have a very temperamental stomach due to medical issues so most of the time dairy in restaurants is a no-go for me not the case here, its always prepared properly and I dont experience any gi issues ❤We are always greeted warmly and treated with kindness I tend to over indulge on their delicious appetizers and mains so maybe if it werent so good Id be a little thinner but I have no regrets 😉

Decided to give this place a try based on the great rating - it was a great disappointment.The second time we called and ordered (first time we tried the food), we ended up getting a couple of the common Indian dishes and a peshwari naan.The naan was burnt and tasted horrible, worst Ive had so far between Canada, UK and US, even some the store bought stuff tasted better.The mains tasted very odd and nothing like expected but I chalked it down to it being East Indian cuisine at first. No distinct coconut flavour in the korma and no slight sweetness, so if thats what youre expecting, maybe try elsewhere.My dish tasted nothing like I expected, which doesnt really say much, but it ended up with me running to the washroom shortly after and spending a amount of time there. I thought Id end up throwing up as well, luckily didnt.Needless to say, any leftovers followed the rest down the drain.Honestly, this is what Id expect from bad greasy kebab shop and funny enough the kebab place down the road has been a great find and Ill definitely be leaving them a review as well.If you wonder what happened the first time we tried to order, it was just peshwari naan we wanted to gauge what we should expect, unfortunately we were told that it would take an hour and a half. I get that it was a busy time, but thats a bit long for a simple naan. Perhaps we should have learned from that and stayed away.

I love ordering Indian from GM!They have so many vegan options which is perfect for me. I can order a huge variety of different dishes, and try new curries often! I’m pretty spoiled for choice but one of my absolute favourite vegan dishes at GM is the “butter veg”. If you love butter chicken but are now no longer eating either- these “butter chicken” veggies will take you right back!The pakoras are fresh, crispy and a massive portion. My family of 5 barely finished one box. A lot of places you order veg pakoras and it’s a tiny little box, maybe for two people. We all could eat a decent amount of pakoras with one order.The rice dishes are great addictions. I especially like the GM rice! Mix that with butter veggies and all your Indian food cravings as a vegan are covered.I love ordering from GM. The food is always hot, and well packed. I’ve never had an issue with my order. They are super friendly and on time with takeout. I’ve eaten in only twice. It’s very nice inside! However I usually do takeout so I can better speak to that experience.

Stopped in today for the first time as many of my neighbours have raved about the food. I was surprised to see cheesecakes and had a pleasant conversation with the owner who explained where he learned to make the cakes. One bite and I’m hooked!! Hands down the best cheesecake I’ve ever had. I also bought a bunch of spices and teas. Can’t wait to go in for a meal and of course more cheesecake ❤️

Recently moved to Maple Ridge and this restaurant always looks busy, so we had to try it. We ordered butter chicken, chicken biryani and naan for take-out.While waiting, I wandered over to the cheesecake display case. The owner came over and sold me on a piece of the Madonna Chocolate and a Strawberry.The really impressive thing was that as the take-out orders came out of the kitchen, the server packing the orders checked EACH box and matched it to the bill before putting them into the bag! No wrong orders from here!The food was delicious, we’ll definitely be trying more dishes from the menu! The servers were polite and the owner was so sweet. So glad we decided to try this place!The only con…parking is at a premium as the lot is small.

We order from GM on a regular basis and are always happy. This time we used to bring food to our work place. We had a really big order. It was amazing. The service was perfect, they helped us out ordering the right thing. We had a good diversity and the sweets they proposed were amazing. It made everyone happy.

Heard about them and wanted to try some from them, i went to order just to find out they are not open on a sunday at 11 AM, and the pics of their working hours at their front door. called them to make sure. guess what - they dont even bother to pickup call. thats their standards.

Has a canadian twist on indian food. Not what Id call traditional but if you like that sort of trials go for it. Definitely read the contents of what youre ordering but was good in its own way

Food is really amazing, super high quality cakes and butter chicken but, ambience is really bad, they play really loud music that is not pleasant for the restaurant and makes it hard to enjoy the food.

Best indian food in town!

We ordered the taste of India platter and I wish I got a picture. 26$ it served my hubby and I for lunch. The Tikka Masala was tender and delicious with the mint sauce. The butter chicken was also cooked beautifully. We enjoyed both very much. We ended the meal with their famous cheesecake. I got the coconut lime. Great price for the amount of cheese cake. It was soft and not over cooked. The crust was thick enough but didnt dominate the cake. Update 2021: still love their cheese cake, their chocolate flavours are amazing too!

I ordered delivery from them, which included a coconut shrimp curry, not only did the order arrive cold but the curry tasted way off. I called them to let them know about the shrimp and was told by the woman on the phone it wasnt [her] problem. She was incredibly rude and insisted that I was being dishonest about the shrimp. Horrible experience, and customer service.

I had a big order. We had ordered chicken Binyani and guess what there was no chicken. They added potatoes to camouflage chicken. They say chicken Binyani but I felt more of veg pulav. I found all the veggies that I find in market except the chicken. DO NOT ORDER BINYANI HERE.

Great cheese cake so filling

This place is not bad! I used to reside in Surrey and found many restaurants out there that I liked so it has been hard to adjust to Indian food in Maple Ridge. The prices are quite high and not comparable to other restaurants.

Had butter chicken (spicy scale 6) basmati rice, a chicken samosa, and garlic naan. Great portions, very good price, and most importantly very tasty :D will definitely order from this place again some day.

As a vegetarian, they have an abundance of options and cater to my dietary needs every break. It’s a great environment with high standards. (now enhanced with COVID-19) I can say I eat meals here 3+ times a week and have never had a bad one.Stop by and say hello! :)

It’s a great Indian restaurant. I go there every week. One thing I wish they had was Maki Roti (yellow cornflower) to go with the traditional spinach/saag :-)

After the first time I went here years ago I have loved the service and the food! Since then I have brought many friends and family who now request we go there when we get together. The Pakoras and Samosas are so good I frequently get some as takeout!

I was getting my car fixed and went there for lunch. This was a big surprise. Great food, pleasant staff ... and great cheese cake.This is not a gourmet place, but they do it right. The dish I had was tasty and well assorted. I will be back!

IMHO I still think this is the best Indian food in the lower mainland. The staff treat you like part of the family. The food is freshly made and forget what you know about cheesecake..This place sets the standard.

Amazing food, good service, tons of fantastic vegan options. Menu also indicates which dishes are dairy free. Something for everyone! The fried cauliflower drizzled with honey is soooo good. Cheesecake is over the top. You will never leave hungry.

Always been a fine and friendly place to have a good meal. I cant remember a time where I tasted something here that I didnt like. The place is clean and the staff is well trained and friendly. The deals on Samosas are amazing too, you will get a better product for cheaper than youre local grocery store here. They have started expanding and doing some off sales of some of their spices, teas and soups which are pretty darn good. Highly recommend!

Good food ,little on the pricey side

I love their food, it is authentic, creative and delicious. My parents drive to Maple Ridge from Surrey just to eat at GM. Our whole family enjoys it. I highly recommend the vegetable tikka masala and my husband loves the tandoori chicken. Take it from an Indian, this place is great!

DO NOT EAT HERE!!!I am not someone who leaves negative reviews unless its an extreme situation. Unfortunately and disgustly, we found a bloody band-aid in our rice. When I called the manager to notify her of this she was rude and stated how do you know someone in your house didnt drop the band-aid in?!The worst part is that we had already eaten some the night we picked it up, and it wasnt until the next day that I was dishing out the leftovers when I found the band-aid sitting in the bottom of the rice.Kitchen staff should always wear gloves if they have an open wound/band-aid on their hand ESPECIALLY during a pandemic!! You have no idea how gross my husband and I felt knowing we had eaten some of that rice.

This is definitely one of my favourite Indian food restaurants. Way back in 1997 I lived in the area and we would go there on a regular basis. It is a family-run restaurant and they were always so friendly and the food was consistently amazing. Fast forward to 15 years later and I had a friend who lived in the area who had never been there before. I suggested we go and was delighted to see that the kids were now helping to run the restaurant and the food was as yummy as ever!

We had GM for our wedding and it was a home run!! Everyone loved the food, especially the veg and vegans in the crowd! Amazing food and service! Highly recommended and we still eat there all the time!

And unlike other Indian restaurants when you ask for your butter chicken to not be spicy, its actually NOT spicy. The staff is great, always friendly. The prices are very reasonable as well. Definitely a hidden gem in Maple Ridge!
