What should I say?I have been to Gujarat and I also have some Gujarati friends. And the food served here is not even close to Gujarati food.Funny part, it is even run and managed by a local person from Mangalore and they do not know Gujarati. I took my Gujarati friend to this restaurant and we both ended up laughing seeing what was served. Not sure how this place has such positive reviews. Only thali is served and not even one Gujarati food in it.A TOTAL SCAM.

I have been visiting this hotel since 1997 when I was a student. The hotel was near Central Market that time which they needed to shift to new premises two years ago. Felt nostalgic when I visited last week, as it was almost a year since my last visit. However, I personally felt that the taste was far far better in the previous location. May be they were using firewood in earlier location ans are using gas here, I dont know. But could clearly make out the difference. The food is great here too, but not comparable to previous location!!

Delicious food we get here, the hotel has very less variety of food items. Only vegetarian food items are available here. They sell a very delicious buttermilk. They charge very less price comparing to the quantity of the food served.

This place is known for its chapathis. A typical meal consists of two rasams, an onion, few green chillies, 6 chapathis and a small cup of rice. One can opt for buttermilk or curds which is chargeable. The green chilly tastes fantastic, which looks like it has been dipped in oil and some salt has been added. The buttermilk is thick and tasty. I believe the chapathis there are made from not just wheat but with an addition of something else as well. Overall fantastic food for a reasonable price.

Unique old style restaurant.Wanted to eat some Dhokla/ Khandvi/ Farsan or at least a Gujju meal, going by the name. But you wont find any of these, It is just run by a Gujju family !Well, you get a sort of meal which is neither Gujarati nor authentic south. They serve 6 fulkas/chapati and a plate of rice with unlimited quantity of couple of curries. Buttermilk is extra but its worth the money.Taste is okay-ish, go there to revisit the old world charm, if you are a Mangalorean.
