So we were looking for Indian food..our spot that delivers. Didnt have gluten and dairy free options.. So I found this place on Yelp. My sister was impressed on the easy to use menu. With easy to read guild on spice, dairy free and gluten free.. So we ended up ordering medium spice chicken curry. Which had more kicked than other places medium spice. But it wasnt bad.. Just a good heat to clear the sinuses lol.everything was package neat and kept warm. Chase was very unique and authentic a lot of Indian restaurants Ive learned use a thick cream well this place uses coconut milk. You can taste the difference. I highly recommend this place. As of right now they only have take out. So so worth it.

The food wasnt really hot ( and I called in the order literally 10 minutes before I arrived). The Naan was cold. There was virtually no entree (4 cubes of meat). And a ton of cold rice. And the dal was spicy?? Dal shouldnt be spicy. At least the place is clean.The last time I went here was before COVID-19 struck and they still had a lunch buffet. Liked it much better then. At least the food was hot with hot Naan brought to your table. Was much better back then.

This is my favorite restaurant in the area. The foods delicious and reasonably priced. Im vegan and love how many options there are for everything - the appetizers, lunch boxes, entrees, etc... As well, everythings clearly labeled on the menu for those with dietary restrictions, so ordering is always easy. The location itself is clean and the workers friendly.

Do yourself a favor and eat at this place. Seriously, its so delicious! Ive eaten at a lot of different Indian restaurants around the country and this is among the best Ive had. (Ive never been to India so I cant speak to the foods authenticity.) They are generous with the spices (I mean flavoring spices, not spicy chilis) so their food is very flavorful. They have TONS of dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan options, so those with voluntary and involuntary dietary restrictions will be able to find something suitable to eat here. But for the rest of us, dont worry; they also have meat dishes. They have daily lunch specials, so make sure to check those out. I cant wait to go back and try more of their food!

We have been ordering take out food from Indigo for years and they always deliver amazing food. Their lunch boxes are preferred by us and we always quality and quantity. We were unable to eat there last year because of the pandemic but now that things have opened up we have been ordering from Indigo almost every week. Highly recommended!!

One of our favorite places for both dine-in and takeout! The service is always incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is DELICIOUS. We love bringing people here who have never had Indian food before. They’re always blown away and can’t stop raving about how amazing the flavors are! Love, love, love this place. Ive ordered take out several times from Indigo and always enjoyed their food. The Tiki Masala is delicious with a great amount of heat. If you visit during lunch hours the the lunch boxes are a great deal for the price.

This was my first time having Indian food so my wife took me here. It was a nice little restaurant, very clean and they have a buffet so I was able to sample different items. Wasnt bad but a few things were a bit spicy, definitely worth a try.

I have been coming to this place for years. Never once have I had something I did not like. The food is almost too good to be true. I am so happy that even through out the pandemic they have stayed open and continued to produce amazing food for theyre customers. Not only is the food perfect, but the service is as well. The people running the show care about the food they make and their customers. This is the kind of spot that should have a line out the door every day! If youve never had the pleasure of eating here, then do your self a favor and give it a shot.

So today I was feeling lazy and I didn’t want to drive to pick up food so I ordered from a different Indian restaurant that delivered to my area. BIG MISTAKE! I ordered the same thing as I do normally for the family and it was not even close. Indigo, is not only the most friendliest place to visit but they cook the best food in this area. So stop being lazy and take the extra 10 minutes to get what is clearly the better choice.

Ordered about $75 worth of food and barely any of it was edible. Im a huge fan of Indian and have had it all over - this food was watered down, lacked flavor and greasy. We ordered more thinking it was just our dishes...we were wrong. Not even an apology from the staff when we commented. Id stay away if I had the chance to redo it. Would give 0 stars if i could.

Good decoration, reasonable price, great food but okay service. Came here with very low expectations but surprisingly food was great. Ordered chilli chicken, matar paneer, garlic Naan, Onion Kulcha, kheer and everything was yummy. Only reason for 4 star is the service. I felt service is not great which need to be improved. The tables were shaking and they charged for few cut Onions!

The dosa was the best dosa! So light and crispy. My friend ordered the Aloo Gobi. He thoroughly enjoyed it. He is allergic to cilantro and completely forgot to mention it. However, I am allergic to vinegar and alcohol and the restaurant was super catering to this. They checked everything prior to bringing the food to the table. It was wonderful.

Indigo has the best quality chicken curry in the area and they are very fast and consistent. When youre in need of a quick I dont want to cook @ home, swing by (calling in advance will expedite!) for pick-up. From our experience, weve found that pick-up is better than eat-in. For some reason, perhaps peak-period hours, its just not quite the same dining there. That said, the food is delicious and wont disappoint.

Just wanted to update this review to say that we still love this place. The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. During Covid Ive been so impressed with how well run the takeout is.

I think i can mark this a best indian restaurant in the Hartford area. We have tried thier Ceylon Jingha appetizer and that is the best appetizer I have ever eaten from any indian restaurant in USA. Wow, amazing! I have no suggestions for any improvements, service, food, ingredients were impeccable. Price may seem high but totally worth the state of bliss you are transported to when eating. The madras hot coffee and masala chai were authentically spiced. The malai kofta deliciously spicy. The paneer masala is so creamy and fish moilee tender. We ordered two naans and they were chewy and delicious. We are excited to bring home left overs and will be back! Also the Rose ice cream was so unique in a great way. Exquisite delicious food. My wife and I got takeout for our 18th anniversary. This was the best Indian food we have had including nyc,ct,ma.... having recently become vegetarian again it was great to find so many options. I got vegetable vindaloo extra spicy -she got Channa saag mild and they were perfect. Friendly, clean and safe. We will be back.

My girlfriend & I had a wonderful dinner and desert at the Indigo Indian Bistro. If you are not familiar with Indian cuisine feel safe in knowing that the menu is very well written. The descriptions are very clear for those not familiar with Indian. If you are interested in having a lovely meal this is wonderful place to do so. If you are on Snapchat check out the filters during your visit. I snapped a picture of this homemade Rose Ice-cream. I believe this establishment opened in 2009, 8 years ago. If you haven’t been yet, try it out you may really love the excellent food and service at this restaurant. The manager Sheen had a great smile and had very beautiful energy about him. Our server David was great too, he gave me a handwritten list of hiking spots to visit while are in town. The chef delivered food to the table, very nice to exchange smiles with the person who prepared your delicious home cooked meal.I really enjoyed the decor of this Bistro, there were two beautiful things written on opposite walls of the restaurant. Do you want some REALLY GOOD QUALITY Indian food? Go to this place. We ordered Chicken Curry (med-spicy), Chicken Chettinad (spicy), Vegan Nariyal Kaju Soup, and Aloo Paratha (spicy). Every single bite was superb!! Chicken chunks are tender white meat (no grissle, important), Aloo Paratha (ordered it spicy), so tasty and so spicy (love). Chettinad and Curry very different, so we enjoyed the variety of flavors. The soup was outstanding. Nice people. Clean place. Quality vittles. Well done Indigo, and thank you. Will be back soon.

You walk in and immediately realize the easy going atmosphere and the friendly & polite staff. Food was served hot and was delicious and the portions were generous. Five star for a $$ eatery. Look forward to going back.

Im normally not that into Indian food, but this place is absolutely great. I ordered the Chicken Khorma, which was delicious. The storefront is spotless, and the staff is friendly. When the pandemic is over, Ill definitely be dining in. If youre considering getting takeout and havent tried Indian food before, give Indigo Bistro a try.

Good food, reasonably priced and standard size portions. When it says hot its HOT, so consider your limit. I would suggest going one level down if in doubt.

My wife and I have eaten at Indigo every other week for 2 years, mostly take out. The food is consistently excellent and priced reasonably. The staff are efficient and friendly.

Wow! Some of the bets Indian food in the area! The chicken tikka masala was some of the best I’ve had! But all the food was good. Will definitely be ordering again!

Grabbed some chicken curry and plain naan. Curry was excellent, the mustard seeds and whole chiles really add to the flavor. Ordered it medium and it was definitely spicy, but still edible. Naan was slightly crispy on the outside, also very good. Strawberry lassi was delicious. Will be back for sure.

Even during the shutdown, they stayed open for takeout, and the quality of the food remained amazing. Just ate a couple of vegetable samosas before heading out for a short hike. Better than French fries any day of the week.

I used to look forward to coming to this place. The food is good and a decent price if you go weekdays during lunch. The only problem is they don’t do a good job seating people and they don’t keep track of who gets there first. It’s chaos and I left disappointed in their service. All it takes is a little communication. It looking someone in the eye does not make them go away

The biryani is outstanding and so are the curry dishes, I particularly like vindaloo and phaal dishes. They are Spicy but won’t maim your taste buds. Underneath the heat, they have complex and layered flavors. As for their biryani, I can taste the saffron and the rice is done just right with the seafood juicy and “crunchy” - never over cooked.The dosa is excellent as well. I also like the cauliflower deep fried and mix in a spicy sweet and sour sauce (goby Manchuria). I and my family and friends have been going there for years. The staff is always friendly and professional. The food has always been top notch. They are also the only Indian restaurant who does seafood right.

Ordered Malai Kofta from this place last weekend. It tasted really bad. Even though I asked for medium-spice, Kofta tasted like a dessert. Not impressed by the quality of the food.

It is easy for me to order vegan food without having to ask a bunch of questions about the ingredients in each dish. I really appreciate this convenience. Good lunch buffet with a variety of meat and vegetarian options. Only thing was they were a bit spicy for me. (I may be a pansy mouth). Anyway, if you like it a bit spicier than I do, this is ideal.

Ordered food for pick up, we were told it would be 45 mins to an hour, which normal. My girlfriend went to pick it up at the 45 minute mark and waited there for over an hour. They were rude, did not offer her a reason or even a discount for waiting so long. The food is good, but the customer service leaves a lot to be desired. We will not be going back. One loyal customer lost.

As with all good things they pass with time. Indigo was my one a week go-to for lunch, over the last couple months the quality of food has started to go down. They stop placing new food out by 1. This means that the late lunch goer has to choose from cold dried out selections. To bad this was a good place for fine food. I will come back in a couple months see if they get back on track.

Beautiful little restuarant themed after peacocks with a modern feel and a great vibe! Most of the food there is vegan and gluten free friendly and everything is very clearly labeled. Not to mention the delicious food they serve there buffet style. I think this has become one of my favorite restaurants!

BEST Indian restaurant in the area by a long shot. I come here as often as once a week for lunch buffet & have been for several years. The food is always fresh & tasty. The vegetarian dishes vary and are very interesting and often things Ive never had anywhere else. The meat dishes are two chicken entrees. I go during the week, I presume the weekend buffet is more varied as its a few bucks more, but Im not in the area on weekends. Staff are all very nice & accommodating. Best days are Thurs/Fri when they have Poori breads. Arrive early (11 am) or late (after 1) as it gets pretty crowded especially on Fridays. Word has gotten around how good they are, which Im happy for.

Basically 0 star. 1) They provide a quantity which is not even enough for 2 people and they charge price like they are big famous restaurant. 2) The waiter himself feel like an owner...his attitude is way bad. 3) They provide whatever they are left with rather than preparing our order and then try to convince that this exactly this thing comes. 4) They charge for every single thing....like if you need salt aside they can will charge $1.99....To management: Please don’t remove those false award winning frames from restaurant because you don’t deserve it at all.

Their food was good, gets crowded quickly and there’s less room. It’s a great place if you’re making your order a take away. 4 star is because I was told that they will call me when my food gets ready for pickup but never received a call, I just went there after 35-40 mins of placing the order and the food was ready for a while (as I was told by the receptionist).

Ive tried Indian food at a lot of places in CT. Indigo hands down has the best Indian food in the state. I go there once a month. The service is also spectacular.

The coconut soup called Kaji something was amazing. Im terrible with the Hindi names. The only complaint I have is the dish was not spicy enough even though I ordered it very spicy. It felt mild, but everything else was great. I would recommend it to anyone.

After struggling to find a great Indian place near us, we finally stumbled upon this place. We ordered takeout and it was amazing! We got the Andra Chicken, Chicken Tiki Masala, Lamb Madras, and Goat Biryani. It was all fantastic! We also got the regular naan, garlic naan, and onion naan. All three were amazing but the garlic was our favorite by far. All the food was hot and extremely delicious! This is the first time we found an Indian place we definitely want to revisit. Would recommend it to anyone!

The food is amazing here; this was my first time trying Indian food and I really liked it. The staff are nice too. The only reason Im giving this place a 4 instead of 5 is the location of the restaurant and the inside.

Bad behavior of Restaurant Owner

Indigo is our go-to takeout. They do a better job than any restaurant Ive seen in working with allergy-specific orders. The wait staff and management have always been wonderful. Theyve never gotten my order wrong. All the food is delicious and they can cater the spice/heat level to your order.

The food was absolutely delicious! Definitely will come again as this was our second time. But I must make reservations for preferred seating next time as we were not able to sit where we wanted as we did not have a reservation.

Well one of the better Indian restaurants around this area. I went for dinner with my family and ordered both veggie and chicken dishes. Although the place is small and has modest ambiance but What I really loved about this place is the food. The flavors were fresh, the presentations and taste was nice and is definitely value for money. I am yet to taste the buffet and will post review once I can.

We had the buffet on a Saturday afternoon. We were quickly greeted and seated. Our first trip to the buffet and we took what are familiar with.... Tiki masala, tandoori chicken and the most AMAZING Rice!! It was so flavorful and delicious. The chickens were also very good. They brought warm Naan to the table along with something that looked like a crepe with a delicious filling. A pudding type dessert was delicious as well. I guess I should have asked what they are called! We did experiment with a few other unfamiliar items that we didnt really care for but no big deal. The staff was on point and we will definitely be back.
