I’ve been getting coffee at Friendly Bean for over 10 years. Easily one of the best coffee shops in KC, Homemade pastries, great staff and the best coffee. They are constantly showing off new combinations.Today I tried a Curry Ginger Latte. How was it? It was great! Never would I have put those together, but another home run for the Friendly Bean!

Friendly Bean is a locally owned coffee shop - I love that its not a chain! They have an impressive number of customizable flavors and options and are very reasonably priced. They also have a frequent flyer card - buy 10, get one free. They feature homemade pastries that are truly something special. Their line moves faster than other coffee places, and, bonus: they really ARE friendly!!!

We’ve been going here for a few years and they’re just top notch! The friendly bean has been open throughout COVID, and they’ve been a nice piece of normal. Their coffee is amazing, their smoothies even better. They’re a local company and again the staff is just the best. I know there can be some long lines but they get people through there quick and it’s worth the wait!

Drinks are delicious and always fresh (I usually get a latte called Beehive). Menu is diverse and creative while also making classics. Prices are reasonable for quality/quantity. Staff is lovely and friendly as well. Their pastries are good too, I usually get a scone in the morning before I head to work, very filling. Cinnamon rolls and chocolate croissants are awesome too. Another perk is that they are local and not a chain! Feels good to support local instead. They also have a stamp card, everytime you get a drink you earn a stamp. After 10 stamps you get a free drink. This place is my Central Perk. ♡

Weve been customers of Friendly Bean for years now, and they rarely disappoint. Both their coffee and their pastry options are fantastic and varied. Mornings and weekends are extremely busy here, so the wait times can vary, but the wait is worth it. The only criticism I might have is that depending on who is running the espresso machine, its possible to get different results as far as beverage. Ive had a couple of times where the milk was burnt, or times where the flavor was a little off/had no flavor at all (i.e. vanilla). Those issues are very rare, and are more than likely related to training of personnel. Overall, very happy with their friendly service, prices, and selection!

Went there yesterday and had their lavender frozen lemonade and it was amazing. I am always impressed by their offerings especially the seasonal ones. I also ordered their lavender pound cake and it was also delicious.

Me and my mother came to this place today and I ordered the frozen White Mocha Frappe, and we were surprised that it tasted like a milkshake made with ice cream. It was nice of the drive thru person to offer us a punch card for each time we get coffee. I will definitely come back here again.

The best coffee/smoothie place north of the river. The people that work there are so kind and the drinks they make are amazing. They also have some amazing pastries and sandwiches, much better than anything Starbucks has ever had. Almost every other time I go there, someone in front of me pays for my drink, and of course I do the same. The other day someone put $100 into paying for people’s items! Friendly bean also donates insane amounts of money to fundraisers or people in need. It really shows how there main priority is helping other people. I go there at least once a week with either my family or girlfriend, and I recommend you do too.

I am disappointed, let down and angry in myself for feeding my coffee addiction. I thought I had it under control, substituting other options with less calories to be healthier. Then, I had Friendly Bean Coffee. Ive been there 3 days in a row. You know what I got? Great service, great coffee and caffeine to get me to like 2pm because lets face it, I need an I.V. of caffeine drip. Thank you for the great coffee and shame on me for falling in love with something that is so addictive and easly accessible.

Although we have been loyal customers for the past 11 yrs, the wait time has become very discouraging. Yes, we know that CoVid is a major cause of this because the lobby is closed, but additional help to improve efficiency would be wonderful during busy time frames, like the weekend.

I LOVE this place. I think they actually put happiness in the coffee somehow. You wont find a better group of people to greet you in the morning!

I love this place. My favourite thing to get here is the hot white chocolate mocha. The quality of the coffee is great, and the cost is lower than certain other popular coffee places. The atmosphere here is really nice. Good place to come and read while sipping some good coffee. They have little pastries as well, and sell bagged coffee grounds/beans. Along with coffee, they offer tea, and smoothies. The smoothies are made with real fruit and taste DELICIOUS. The workers here are very friendly. They have a drive through as well. They hang various artwork on the walls that are interesting to look at, to say the least. On the outside, it looks super small, but its surprising spacious inside, with plenty of comfy seating.

I have been in love with this coffee establishment since it first opened at Vivion & Brighton. My best friend and I ran through at least once a week on our way to school (miss those cinnamon rolls 😉). Came back from college to learn they reopened....right down the street from my new place! I still had my punch card and everything. Now a Mom, I can appreciate the great prices and feel less guilty about sneaking away just for me. I love this place. The line can get wrapped around the building on weekends, but it moves pretty quickly and the staff is always nice. The coffee taste amazing, and the prices are even better. It’s like half the price of any chain coffee place! ❤️

The Friendly Bean is ALWAYS consistent with genuine service, quality with all products offered on their menu and the main sale for me unlike the large chain stores is the consummate attention each tenured Barista gives to product consistency. All at a very reasonable price$:).

This place is my go to coffee shop. Its small and quaint, and the staff are incredibly friendly. They get to know you and there are many regular customers I see everyday here. The coffee is priced greatly, the taste is superb. They roast their own beans and have a good bakery selection to choose from as well. Waiting for nicer weather to try out their patio to sit on.They have a fast wifi in house anyone can use and they have a desktop anyone can use as well. They have some older furniture inside to sit on. The only thing I wish they would improve upon is the furniture. Everything is pretty old and beaten up and the location sure could use a face lift! Not taking any stars away because I realize thats not cheap to do and this is a smaller local coffee shop.I would still absolutely recommend this place to anyone for a great cup of Joe! Make sure you get the reward card and get a free every 10 beverages you buy!!

This is such a sweet coffee shop in the northland. The inside is tiny and can get loud sometimes, but the service is thoughtful and the coffee is great!

The best coffee shop. Before I moved, Id really only had them, but had tried other versions of the same drink that got me.hooked and NONE were as good as theirs. Then when we moved, I tried to Branch out...luckily were only about 15 minutes away so I can still get my fix. Service is usually great and quick. Ive tried many drinks on and off menu and theyve all been amazing

Delicious coffee. Excellent service, reasonable prices. I gotta say this was my first ever visit to the Friendly bean, but I will definitely return. If you are a big fan of Scooters blended drinks, and like the taste of coffee and not just the added flavors, then I strongly recommend giving The Friendly Bean Coffee a try. I was not disappointed.

Tried Friendly Bean because Starbucks is closed because of COVID19. So glad I did! The line was long at the drive-thru but they were fast. I tried a white chocolate mocha and it is better than any white chocolate mocha Ive had before. Their coffees are very reasonably priced, cheaper than Starbucks. I will be back!

The associates are kind and creative, and their product is decadent. I appreciate their buisiness even in the CORONA pandemic

I have yet to try all of my favorite drinks at the Friendly Bean, but due to a pleasurable experience and great coffee during my first visit, I will be returning! If I’m being honest, the flavor of the coffee is not my favorite, but I had a well-made latte. The sitting area is small, but the atmosphere is peaceful.

The name fits for sure, the staff is always exceptionally sweet to me. They make coffee the right way! And the Baker invents and makes all the sweet treats in house. I can taste the love here! And the whip on the top is that they even have a punch card that gets you that free coffee after buying 10. My whole staff at work goes there and we fight over those punch cards....we buy eachother coffee just so we can get more punches!!! This place will make you break up with your current coffee shop I promise.

Friendly Bean lives up to its namesake. The staff are friendly and will get to know you. They serve high quality coffee as well as tea, smoothies and other drinks. Its good to see a local business thrive and compete with a corporate giant down the street. My favorites- large iced quad hazelnut latte and homemade fruit pies served on Fridays.
