Padmagad is one of the sea forts built by Maratha shivaji maharaj Kings in 1676 in order to control the activities in Arabian sea.It is located in the northwest direction of the Sindhudurg fort at a distance of about 2 km.The sea fort Padmagad is not as big as Sindhudurg fort but still the fort can be visited and enjoyed. The fort was not only a part of Sindhudurgs defenses but was also Shivaji Maharajs main ship construction yard. This fort can also be viewed from Malvan Dandi beach. There is a belt of land from Dandi seashore to Padmagad it got blown away under the water in 2004 to 2010. But Now fort can be accessed during low tide or by boats. Boats are mainly available from Malvan Dandi beach. Dont miss most beautiful Breathtaking sun sets from Padmagad . Must visit this place in Malvan.

Many people are not aware that there is such fort! Secondly, people always get it mixed with Pamadurg which was constructed by Chatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj near Janjira!It is a very small sea fort on the way to Sindhudurg.One has to take care of tides while going to this fort.It has a temple within. Nothing much to watch there except thrill of walking on watery sand!As it is very near to Sindhudurg, please dont miss it.
