I am Ravichandran residing in malli . malli ismentioned in andal poems that is thivyapprabanthem she is one among 12 alwar saints. actually malli is the capital town before the third centary . After that only the town srivilliputhur was built by a tribal king whose name was VILlI . so the town was named villiputtur puttur in Tamil means new town . after andal s birth it is being called srivilliputhur o k the above said informations are known to every body but I have a very new and unknown news about a village called nakkamangalam which is three k m s west of malli and four kms east of srivilliputhur I will write it soon if reqested o k thanks ravichandran
