Some of the newly converted companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) were asked to make a Datu Anwat as they had the Datu Anwat (Elanta) tree to hang the arms of the people of Makkah. It was not to worship the tree or ask for anything. But rather their weapons and possessionsShe was just to hang on to it and to be around it. However, when the Messenger (pbuh) explained the act, it was meant to enrich the tree besides Allah.By praying near it and praying to those in it.Whats the point of doubting? To do so would be to worship and quash it.
