You could find small shops with tasty foods like goat soups, rose milk, milk guava, etc.. Fruit shops, mobile accessories.. Sometimes you need to have gymnastic skills to catch buses.. Paid toilet available..

Basic amenities could definitely be better. Atleast basic seating for passengers waiting for their buses would be appreciated. There are sufficient tea shops, restaurants, bakeries etc for convenience of travellers. There is also a pay and use public restroom but which can definitely be maintained much better. One of the few popular outstation bustands of madurai.

This bus stand is always overcrowded because of limited space available here and the number of buses are more. Moreover many shops are located inside the premises as a result people find it difficult to move conveniently. The Time Keepers of the town buses who supposed to the people are hardly found in their cabin. Fruit sellers have also occupied most of the available space here. But one thing sure that everyone in this city remembers Thanthai Periyar, well respected Social Reformer of Tamil Nadu day in and day out.

No night service buses. waiting for long time. No bus booth ...it is not at all friendly for new comers.. no board to guide the passenger.. people are forced to use share autos.. very poorly managed.. no people care..

Bus Stand is not bad. No Platforms. Many complex stores are available. But there is no roof to hide from sun and rain. No sittings. Also not a cleaned place. You need to adjust. Help Desk is working good for us.

This bus stand is situated at the center of the Madurai city, and whole day intra city buses are available to travel all over the city.This bus stop is very close to meenakshi goddess temple Madurai, around 2-3 km.This bus stop needs some maintenance and covered area.Intercity buses also come to this bus stop.

Buses are available in Kariapatti, Thirumangala., Avaniyapuram, Mandelo Nagar etc....

1) It is in the centre of the city. 2) very closer to KOODAL ALAGAR TEMPLE (0.5 k.m), MEENAKSHI AMMAN TEMPLE (1k.m), and THE RAILWAY STATION (O.5k.m). 3) Only paid rest rooms are available.. 4) It is not neat. 5) I have been seeing this bus stand for more then 50 years; not so much improvement. 6) We have only city bus services to all the part of the city from here. 7) The city bus services are available only during day time only. 8) Some important areas have city bus services all day long. 9) There are four bus terminals here but it is the central busstand. 10) The most important thing is **BEWARE OF THE VALUABLE THINGS** here.

Where do I begin... Only in India ppl have to travel around trying to figure out updates/ schedule changes. There are no online updates. This bus platform is under construction, if you want to book tickets to go to a diff city, you need to go to MGR bus stop. Its so confusing, no one knows whats happening.
