Excellent maintenance. This is a very busy railway station and the station will not be free even for 30 mins. From the evening 5pm to midnight 12, there will be trains on atleast 2/3 platforms and a lot of people will be commuting during the time. The safety and security are well managed and one can definitely be safe. There are lot of food stalls and every shop is cleanly maintained. There are 6 platforms and escalator facilities are also available... Platform# 1 will be the busiest and most of the trains are directed to the platform on all days.

This station hosts South Indias first luxury Lounge. It was closed because of pandemic. An Important junction. Many passengers depend on this route for transit. Nicely maintained

Good. But the shops are very less. I mean if youre in a train and need to buy food, you need to walk a little bit.

Its just that they have switched off the wide LED display during this pandemic. It would be so bright and ease of use for assisting the passengers. Nevertheless, the place is just awesome.

Madurai has got the best infrastructural railway junction in Tamilnadu. Available with enormous parking space for two and four wheelers. Railway canteen services are mostly affordable. Neat and tidy platforms and environment is maintained. Directions hoardings and running displays are installed for travellers to commute easily between railway platforms.

Junction is neat and clean. Pandian and vaigai are superfast express daily trains. Here u get facility like paid RO water, regular drinking water, station court, book stall, snacks, WiFi serviced by railwire. IRCTC lounge is a recently launched lounge facility available with some charges. There are lots of hotels are there nearby the station itself. Bazaar, shopping malls, theatre, bus stand everything is available in a walkable distance. If u carry heavy bags then u just pickup an auto through ola. Enjoy your madurai visit.

Madurai railway junction is fairly clean, with basic amenities needed for passengers. A.C. waiting hall is 10/ hour, whereas its 17/ hour in erode. But erode junction has well cushioned sofa, but Madurai has just hard steel chairs.

Nice station with beautiful entrance gate as shown in the figure. RO water is available at every platform. Escalator facility is also available at every platform. As compare to crowd the station consists of less platform. The cleanliness and neatness is maintained perfectly. Wating A/C hall is available in 10 rupee per hour which also have clean washrooms. This station also provides pay and use toilet. Each and every latest things are updated at this station. One thing is very bad here that is Hindi language there are spelling mistake everywhere.

This could be usage related and the authorities should evenly spread the usage.The Vaigai express was launched from Madurai on 15th August 1977.In Meter gauge I presume.Madurai definitely deserves better.

Madurai is an old city and so is its railway station. It has all the basic facilities. It has enough seating or waiting area. Station is clean and there is no Paan spiitting on station.People coming to holy city Maa Meenaksahi temple Madurai will have a peaceful stay at platform while waiting for their train and check in in the city.

Also local buses to connect inside the city. Walkable to Periyar bus stand.. Facilities like waiting hall, paid toilets, lodging near by, cab services, taxis, Autos are available.. Tourists helpdesk setup during peak seasons.. You can also go to kodaikannal from here.. But you need to switch buses from station.. Be aware of your holdings to avoid missing..

One of the best railway stations in Tamilnadu. It has received awards number of times. It has good infrastructures like lift, food stalls. It is well known station for the good maintenance. Very good display of coach numbers of all the trains that enter platforms. Very closer to the famous Meenatchi temple. THERE are number of hotels around station with varying price range. It is well connected to main victories in South India.

Visited in first week of November. Temp check done at entrance. Only people holding valid tickets allowed inside. Keep up the good work.
