Forever favourite nonveg hotel. Best vaaval fish fry.Tastiest kola urundai in the town. Super soft idlies with the kulambu they provide is awesome. Suvarotti is well cooked and served. Boneless crab, the best for cold. On the whole gives a feeling of home cooked food.

The Ambience is yet to be experienced as we went on the day of a partial lockdown on the one in Bypass road. Inspite this there was a hustle and bustle for takeaway. We made a dine in. The quality and taste of the food has met our expectations. The menu is slightly overpriced. But cant complain. I spent and shared quality time and food with a dear one. So all those bad things could be brushed aside

Very disappointed with biriyani is not good meat are old like yester.. they re-heat that Biriyani .. all my family members very sad about it.. please dnt do like this again .. many time we taste this time is very worst...

This is an update after the partial lifting of lockdown:. Quite a good number of restaurants in Madurai have lost some of their star cooks due to their migration back to their native place. And the loss of good chefs reflects in the taste of the dishes. Kumar Mess seem to have retained all their best chefs!! The items that my wife and I had for dinner tonight were uniformly very delicious and lip-smackingly tasty! If I could rate Kumar Mess 7 stars, I would gladly rate them 7. It has become sort of a foodies heaven - as reflected by the capacity crowd we saw there!!

Not worth anymore for the price they are charging . Once they were good. The same taste one can get in other hotels as well these days. Simply living in the shadows of thier past glory. The quantity is too less (1/4th of what other restaurants serve ) for the price they charge.
