Good place to be visited with children, however one can notice its age at some places ... We went there at the opening time and we until abot 2 p.m. couldnt buy anything to drink or eat. Everything was closed and you can only count on the machines with drinks and snacks than. But you have to have coins.Toilets so so...Animals in good condition yet not free...

Fun time for the kids - there lots of of cobwebs and it looked like it was poorly maintained. We spent about two hours and got to see the entire spread - it was really HOT when we visited so we skipped any shows. Be sure to have the front gate call for a taxi if you dont have cell service - the area is very isolated and it would be a pain to try to grab a taxi on nearby streets

Like many places like this or cant decide if its a playground, funfair, zoo or educational centre. In the end the educational side is too weak to give much useful information about the faunia that your seeing. Throw into the mix the expensive junk food sold every 100 metres, the entry prices and the parking fee youre left thinking is its somewhere youd repeat.

With all honesty I would not recommend a visit. I have visited this twice once as part of work and the second time for a birthday celebration invitation. There is no interaction with animals infact one could raise concerns over their wellbeing. Yes you could spend the whole day there but after April you will burn as there is no thought given to create shade for the visitors. The entry tickets are overpriced, the parking you have to pay almost 6E for the visit. The restaurants are overpriced and bad quality and bad service. If you want true intention with animals for your kids then visit a granja escuela.

A different kind of zoo which offers more interaction with animals which is a very good concept. Its not very huge like Madrid Zoo but one can spend a whole day. I really liked their farm area, butterfly garden and cave area. Although its prohibited to touch animals at most of the places but there are some designated areas where you can touch and feed the friendly animals. When i visited, because of COVID situation they have closed main restaurants and some areas where there is possibility of gathering, they have not organized all the shows just there was one bird show. I would love to visit again once the normal situation will come.

I prefer the other zoo but this place has a lot of fun activities and interactive shows for kids. The exhibits are quite elaborate but I found it to be a bit claustrophobic since you’re being funneled into each exhibit which are mostly indoors. I still give it 5 stars because there’s plenty of parking, which was free at the time and it’s well located next to more open space parks great for picnics/outdoor parties. Great family weekend plan.

Nevertheless in faunia you will find some fun by watching the 🐦 and the sea seal shows. Quite a cool zoo with various creatures: froom kangaroos to spiders. You can actually get very close to kangaroos if the door will be opened. Moreover, the room with lots of small monkeys is available to visit. But be careful there - after food time, monkeys can do some bad stuff. Dont stand underneath monkeys cause you will understand what monkey had eaten in the morning. Spiders, scorpions, and many more available to observe. Compared to Madrid zoo, which had big creatures from around the world like rhinos, oxes and elephants, this has much smaller creatures like spiders, butterflies and scorpions. After cisiting Madrid Zoo, Faunia will leave different impressions. Would suggest visiting both.Ps look online for discount codes to save some money ;)

Still keeps the magic but getting dated. Would require a renovation as most attractions didn’t change for the last decade. Not particularly well signposted from the nearest Metro stop, obviously most people drive here. But its worth a visit if you like zoos/animals. Youll get closer to animals here than most other zoos. From Lemurs to Kangaroos you can get right up close and personal.Nicely laid out, with some indoor and underground sections to get you out of the sun. Its not a very big area but youll probably spend a good 2hrs or more here.Very quiet during August when we visited and unfortunately most of the restaurant areas were closed.

This animal park does have many animals as the stars which probably in other zoos are overlooked.Overall the state of the park is in a good state. The price for an entrance is quite high, if possible check to buy the tickets from the web or find some discount codes. What i didnt like in many places there are tries to make money with pictures or experiences with animals or also doing shows with the animals. In my opinion that is something what should no more be done in does days. Some of the restaurants are not open all days, so depending on the day you might not have all the food options available

Review №42

We visited on a Sunday in October. Two adults and a three year old child. English/ Italian. This park has the potential to be significantly better than it is. The main problem is the total lack of staff present around the park. Staff are to be found only conducting the shows (well put together and keepers clearly very respectful towards the animals in their care) and the occasional educational tour (only in Spanish, like everything here including the website, which is a pity given the amount of international tourism) and working in shops/restaurants/kiosks, cleaning staff, etc. So there is no-one keeping an eye on the animals and monitoring peoples behaviour. There are plenty of signs politely asking guests not to use flash, or in some areas not to take photos/use phones, there are quiet areas where guests are asked to be silent, there are signs about not feeding particular animals, or feeding particular food to particular animals. There is no-one about to enforce any of the above, and there was a shocking lack of common sense, respect and civility amongst the majority of the guests. Shouting, banging on the glass, running around, pushing, taking selfies, flash photography, breaking plants, climbing onto barriers and feeding the animals any random thing seems here to be the norm, and not just children - their parents were no better. The result was a significantly worse experience for all involved, the animals and the guests. The most extreme example of this was in the nocturnal area where the noise level amongst the public was such we couldnt hear each other speak and half the people there were on their phones, despite signs asking for silence and prohibiting use of screens. This situation needs to be addressed promptly.

This is an excellent, moderate sized zoo that focuses on getting you up close to the animals, so great for children and adults alike. Although it lacks the big names such as lions, elephants etc. it makes up for it with some superbly designed enclosures and facilties for the animals. Particular highlights are the penguins, sea lions and the jungla building, which features a walk through aquarium. All the animals appear well looked after and content.Plenty of parking. Plenty of places to eat and drink although most of the smaller kiosks are closed on Monday.

With nearly 30e for adults very pricey for a zoo but overall a really nice experience. There is a lot to see, several themed areas that of course have a certain age but still make a good impression. To make the most of the visit check beforehand for shows and animations. Some of those need prior reservation (see crocodile feeding, take picture with animals). Obviously most animals are still locked up in cages, with all ethical implications, but some of the more open areas seem relatively animal-friendly compared to other zoos.

We did the Manatee experience at Faunia and it was amazing; the staff were very friendly, helpful and answered all our questions, and the animals were incredible. The rest of the park is great, there are definitely better zoos out there, but Faunia has alot to offer. Highlights for me were definitely the nocturnal animals and the sea lion show. Worth a visit if youre in Madrid and have a day spare, but it is tricky to get to from the city centre, so research public transport and plan ahead.

Review №47

While there is lots to see, many animals are confined to enclosures that never see any sun - for example, monkeys and penguins in cages inside with no outdoor access . The nocturnal animals are kept in perpetual darkness for our entertainment, and you can see the stress of it on, for example, the ant eater, who just runs frantically along the glass. Some animals, you can actually touch because their cages are open but there are zero zookeepers to be seen anywhere, meaning that people freely feed the animals and even harm them, such as pull the tails of lemurs. Im not sure how this zoo meets European standards. (We visited twice - we wont return again).

The place is pretty cool and guaranties a full day of fun. They also offer some other activities that you have to book separately for a fee. Animals seem well cared and installations and clean and up to date. My real only complaint is with rude and impolite visitors smoking everywhere, eating where is not allowed, and feeding animals that are not supposed to be fed. Park staff could improve the supervision of these behaviors and make the stay even note pleasant for everyone. Also, its a bit pricey if you dont book a week or two in advance (~10€ off).

It’s a cute little place to see some animals. There are a ton of really interesting bird species and some animals that you get close with. Unfortunately barely any of the food stations are open so the ones that are open take forever. There is a lack of staff in some areas that I believe could use some people monitoring, but the animals are well taken care of. The parking is not free, which is a drag because it’s in the middle of nowhere and driving in is the best (possibly only) option. The parking lot is also a mess if you try and leave and didn’t realize you had to pay. There aren’t signs anywhere and it’s a long runway that you get stuck backing out of. Luckily there wasn’t a queue behind us or it would’ve been a nightmare. We probably won’t go back again.

A decent zoo and a good place to take kids. It is set up somewhat like a theme park, and, regretfully, a such it is flooded by publicity for junk food and softdrinks. Its best space are large enclosures that allow the animals ample movement, allowing several associated species to coexist, and sometimes even allowing visitors to enter: the lemurs enclosure, for insurance. The farm is also great: kids can go in and can feed the animals.Other spaces and events are less forgiving towards the animals.

Maybe the animals could be kept in even worse conditions, but that doesnt make this place right. Its a glorified pet store, no animal is kept in a space that accommodates to its needs. The crocodiles have killed one another on account of how tiny their space is, the armadillo runs around a space the size of a modest living room, and so does the aardvark or the ocelot. This place is profoundly wrong, anyone with a shred of respect (not even love) for animals should avoid giving these people any money.

I loved being so close to the animals, my kids were seriously excited. I didnt bring my pushchair (mistake! Bring your own) and was a little annoyed that the kiddie car thing we hired to push them along instead a) cost €15! b) All had badly maintained tiny trolley like wheels meaning they were super difficult to push along, and really noisy. For €15 Id like the smoothness of a Ferrari please. Also as the parking points for them were only at food courts and not around exhibits, we had to have one of us stay outside with it as they were normally two big for the exhibits and other kids kept trying to get in them and escape (sorry guys, not for €15....)While the parking is not too expensive, it really bothered me having to pay extra after shelling out nearly €100 on tickets. Plus you have to validate them at the ticket/photo booth, which is incredibly stupid, instead of having a machine to do it on the inside of the park - guys your park is in the middle of nowhere, Noone is coming here for free parking. Also, there are no signs or information anywhere even saying you have to validate the ticket, so many people went to the barrier, then had to reverse back, get out, and walk back to the entrance booth - they werent even asked for tickets as proof of having entered either so same price whether youre a customer or not I guess....I am a familia numerosa and the online website also gave me a million difficulties and I ended up having to buy the tickets without the discount I am entitled to, although at three euros I wont exactly lose any sleep over it.The app they tell you that you need to download for paperless tickets does NOT work, dont bother downloading it. You can just show the electronic copies you get in your email and zoom in on the barcode.Although I felt like the animals habitats were large and well-kept, I felt really bad for animals in areas where silence was requested. I really dont know what is wrong with people that they need to be shouting and banging on glass and letting their kids run around like absolute maniac berserkers while the animals look visibly distressed and there are signs everywhere asking for silence. The animals in the nocturnal section seemed to be the worst off, they were acting very agitated. Sadly, as people apparently cant be trusted, the park should really have someone in that section to shush loud idiots, as the animals and their welfare is their responsibility. The food is OK, but very unhealthy and expensive - bring your own snacks at least. There is a really nice picnic area with benches inside a large playground, but it was super crowded the day we went.
