Great spot for Indian food. Not as spicy as some others - the vindaloo was spicy, but not as spicy as Im used to, so if youre a big spice head, this isnt quite what youre wanting. However, the service and flavors were spot on.

Basmati has become a weekly occurrence for me. The food is AMAZING. I had spent years visiting tandoori station (also delicious) but found this gem in the neighborhood and can say for price and quality, it’s my favorite. The friendly staff are a bonus! This place is GOLD.

The best Indian food I’ve had in Madrid! My favorite place is in New York, but honestly this might be my new favorite! It’s a bit pricier than other options in Madrid, but 110% worth it! The staff is very friendly and recommended things to go with our food. We ordered the lamb tandoori, chicken tikka masala, veggie samosa, basmati rice and cheese nan. We loved all of it! We will definitely be back.

Fantastic staff and very flavorful food! We arrived shortly after they opened for dinner, so there was no wait but it started to fill in shortly after. The portions appeared smaller than I was expecting but it ended up being the perfect amount of food!Pro tip: Dip the garlic naan into the chicken tikka masala sauce!

This place is AMAZING!! The owner, Javer, is the sweetest man on earth. As American we were loud and obnoxious but he never made us feel bad. He was very welcoming and made it the best night since I’ve been here in Madrid. Not only is the service great but the food is just as good. Come here!!! You won’t regret it.

Exquisite food and wine with a very hospitable staff. It’s located close to the metro and you are greeted when you walk trough the door by the owner and his family himself. I have been to many restaurants and I really appreciate it when the owner is a part of the staff greeting and interacting with the customers.

I felt humiliated while sitting inside this restaurant. They treated us as if we didn’t deserve to be in this restaurant. One of servers told us : “you are Indian, this food is not for you. You must be liking spicy food”. That was racist. When we decided to leave, the server said in a sarcastic and insulting tone: “ Good luck! Finding good Indian food in Madrid”. Surely they haven’t been to Benaras, Adrak and other small lovely places.Overall: Rude and insulting behavior by the server.

I was working in madrid earlier this year for 4 months, this restaurant was on the street i was staying on. I first went to this restaurant with my girlfriend when she came to visit. The food is top notch the staff are so friendly. I used to visit a couple of times a week. The only place i came across in madrid for decent curry/indian food. Also recommended to my work colleagues who enjoyed this restaurant . I hope to return one day

My partner was craving spicy food on our trip, and the vindaloo here met expectations! I got the chana rezala (like chana masala but with more ginger) which was delicious as well. One serving of basmati rice and and one garlic naan rounded out an excellent meal.

Been to a few Indian restaurants in Madrid and Basmati currently ranks as my favourite. Intimate dining room, quick service and well located. The wide ranging menu has every staple you would expect plus a few house specials. The lamb shashlik was brilliant and came sizzling to the table on hot iron. My wife was really happy with her korma. 4 stars, not 5, because the mango lassi at the end lacked the quality and care of the main dishes. I’ll definitely be going back though.

We came here for a late lunch a family of 4 and a baby, as we were in the area, got a craving for Indian food and read the great reviews about Basmati. We ordered three menu del dia deals- 10.5 Euro for a starter, main course, desert and a drink (soft drink / beer). The reviews did not disappoint- although the portions were not very big (as can expected from a daily menu), they were simply delicious all the way! The service was not pushy and comfortable. This is most definitely a great Indian restuarant, the cost is totally decent for standard ordering from the menu and the value for money for the daily menu is outstanding. Bottom line- Definitely worth a visit!

Although not really Indian (theyre from Bangladesh) the food is good and the staff friendly. However, its expensive AND the quantity they serve you is ridiculous. When the restaurant is full, service is slow. You ask for Madrids usual jarra de agua on top of beers and they bring without asking you an opened water bottle... Sneaky and inconsiderated. There are quite a few better Indian options in Madrid

Basmati Indian Restuarant one of the best south Asian cuisine restaurant in town with quality food and service. It was way better than I was expecting. You can genuinely find any type of Indian cuisine such as Pakistani, Bengali, Punjabi all on one menu. Verry delacious food and customer service is great and beautiful inside and outside restaurant set in a nice location. This place is absolutely spectacular!

Dishes though look Indian, but definitely doesnt taste Indian. People working are from Bangladesh and call it as an Indian restaurant. Paneer is not Indian paneer but cheese used from local supermarket. One will find big chops of vegetables in the curry that was ordered. I had never seen palak paneer prepared the way it was prepared. Doesnt deserve high rating.

Worst behaviour and arrogant attitude with restaurant employees... these guys are abusing us when we ask for the reason for extra amount charged in the total bill.. name is Indian restaurant but these ppl are from bangaladesh...food is Average but chicken in the gravy is not cooked well and seems to be old..

My girlfriend and I are vegetarian, and weve been traveling in Spain for over a week now... It has been challenging to find substantial vegetarian meals. Every place seems to offer the same thing (bread, ham, & cheese - especially in the smaller, more rural towns) so we wind up having basic salads with some bread and cheese most of the time.We were so excited to be in a metropolis that offers different cuisines. The food here was VERY tasty and it feels reasonably priced. There were other couples on dates, single people, even groups of Indians eating there so all the signs were positive. The staff was very kind too.We ate the vegetable samosa, chana masala, basmati rice, garlic nan, and the eggplant entre - all of it was yummy.

As an actualy Indian, the food here was excellent and Javer was the friendliest person Ive met in Madrid. Will definitely be back!

The food was really good!We ordered naan, saag paneer (gravy) & biryani.Everything was just perfect, the naan i had in other indian restaurants in madrid is usually soggy, but this to my surprise was so soft adn perfect.Me being a indian, i really recommend this place the food.

I came here today and was more than impressed; it was delicious! My friend and I shared Saag Paneer (I scraped the bowl clean it was soooo good!), Vegetable Biryani, and Plain Nann (Very light and soft). I have been craving more for dinner. Will definitely be back for delicious food and great service! The staff were extremely kind and welcoming.
