It is well located and well maintained zoological park. Though not new addition of animals added recently but its definately good experience for childrens and exposure to wild life in fun way. Joyride of toy train is fun and seeing of all kind of animals, reptiles, fisheries is good learning. Special mention for the butterfly π¦ park which is maintained with utmost care and you can see many kind of butterfly and enjoy thier presence around you, which is becoming rare increasingly day by day.just loved that experience.

The place is just amazing. People from every age group can go there for a picnic. You can see many types of animals, aquarium. The museum is also so antique, like one can find many ancient things, from India . You will find Egyptian mummy. There is a toy train, parks, canteen. The place is clean and safe.
Awesome place Literally, You need to spend a whole day to roam around fully. Almost everything is there, animals, fishes, nocturnal animals.I visited there recently and got opportunity to explore the whole ZOO.I am creating a Tour Vlog of Lucknow Zoo, which will be uploaded on my YouTube Channel Tafri Wale Laundey.I saw white tiger, royal bengal tiger, cheetah, cats, crocodiles - alligators and whole lot of birds there. Bahut maza aaya.
For small children and old people opt for golf cart ride of 20 mins @βΉ200 that gives you a sneak through of the most animals of the Zoo. Then go for a train ride after that if you can walk around go and see the left over animals n places. Do visit the gallery at the left side of the entrance of Zoo. Check whether the Aquarium and nocturnal birds place is open or not before hand from the people over ticket area or at the entrance point so that you dont end up walking to these places waiting to see that its closed.Elephant, Rhinocerous, Zebra and Hukku bandar are not present at the Zoo so dont waste your time looking around for these animals.
The Lucknow Zoo is an awesome place and definitely worth your time and especially money. For a nominal fee of βΉ80, you get access to all of the Zoos facilities except the Butterfly Park which is βΉ20 extra. It is suitably maintained except for the boating area which needs a little more care but overall cant complain. The variety of animals is so vast that it takes an entire day to see them all. Apart from the usual cages having White Tiger, Lion, Leopard, Hyenas, Deer, Giraffe and the usual animals theres also an Aquarium having 2 floors and an entire building having various species of Owls. And theres also an entire area dedicated to birds. Theres a snake house and as already mentioned, a butterfly park.Theres also a Museum, folk center, canteen etc and so many things that I cant even remember them all.To summarise, if you want to have a great time whether it be with family or friends, this is a great choice and you cant go wrong with the zoo. Even I wasnt a fan of going to the zoo before but this has changed my mind. Definitely pay a visit with ample time.
Its a nice place to visit on weekends with kids...the place is very big so avoid visiting on sunny days instead prefer on good climate as u will get exhausted easily.the experience of mini train inside the zoo is awesome do visit..
Now you can book your ticket online. Full day fun with kids n family. White Tiger, Chimpanzees are main attraction. Fish Aquarium is pleasant. Enjoy with toy train.Summer could be hurdle.

A visit to the Lucknow zoo is a must if youre new in Lucknow or havent been able to visit here yet. Its very well maintained and has a huge variety of animals to showcase. The staff here works well in keeping the premises clean and hygienic. Masks are necessary to get in nowadays due to the ongoing pandemic. Overall we had a great time here and I would definitely come back some time.
Amazing place to spend a day. Got a lot of animals and they all are in very good condition.

Its too crowded on Weekends(Make sure you put on your masks all the time) . They have park and canteen as well.
This is the most amazing place... I get to know about many animals, birds etc........ And also about them.
One of the finest Zoo in India. Zoo have all type of animal in good & healthy condition.
A happy place with loads of learning. Do not miss the State Museum, a treasure trove of antiquities. Egyptian gallery is beautifully done. Victorian/European Art Gallery is impressive too.
Buitiful place in Lucknow. I visited towic.
Zoo is very good having lot of varities. One can enjoy train ride with their children. But you have to pay separately for such type of different entertainment.
Quite nice place to visit. This place is with lots of greenery and peace. 80 rupees entry ticket for adults and half for childrens of 12 years. Many animals, lots of birds are here but tye bad part is they do not look after of their as required or needed. Museum, aquarium, butterfly garden and Snake house all these places are closed due to COVID restrictions.
The zoo receives about 1,100,000β1,200,000 visitors annually. The zoo is home to 463 mammals, 298 birds, and 72 reptiles representing 97 species, including the royal Bengal tiger, white Bengal tiger, Asiatic lion, gray wolf, hoolock gibbon, Himalayan black bear, Indian rhinoceros, blackbuck, swamp deer, barking deer, hog deer, Asiatic elephant, giraffe, zebra, European otters, hill mynahs, giant squirrels, great pied hornbill, golden pheasant, silver pheasant etc. The zoo is successfully breeding swamp deer, blackbuck, hog deer and barking deer, white tiger, Indian wolf and several pheasants. It is one of the only two zoos in India to exhibit an orangutan (the other being the Kanpur Zoo).A Toy train was started in 1969. The rolling stock consisting of engine and two coaches is the gift of Railway Board. The train was inaugurated on the Childrens Day 14 November 1969 by the then Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. The track is 1.5 kilometres (0.93 mi) long and has crossings and signals. Rides start from Chandrapuri station and travels to almost every section of the zoo.The glorious chapter in Lucknowβs history came to an end on Wednesday, 21 November 2013 as the journey of the βtoy trainβ that chugged in the city zoo for the last four decades, came to a halt. The 44-yearβold toy train, that carried lakhs on it, was pulled out of service owing to plans of a revamp. The toy train has been parked in front of the state museum in the zoo premises. It was gifted to Lucknow zoo in 1969 by the Railway Board. The Uttar Pradesh State Museum (Timing: 10.30 am to 4.30 pm; Closed on Mondays and certain public holidays) in Lucknow, was earlier situated in the Chattar Manzil and the Lal Baradari. It was shifted during the year 1963 to the new building in Lucknow Zoo (Banarasi Bag or Prince Of Wales Zoological Garden).[7] The initial collection centered around the arts of Avadh and objects related to the customs, habits, mythology and contemporary objects of Awadh, but later on it was expanded to more interesting excavated antiquities from nearby places of Lucknow particularly where Buddha grew up.Today, the Museum has become a centre of Lucknows (Awadhs) sculpture, bronzes, paintings, natural history & anthropological specimens, coins, textiles and decorative arts. The (1000 BC) Egyptian Mummy and wooden sarcophagusure in the Prince of Wales Zoological Garden (Lucknow Zoo) are a centre of attraction. From the vast number of displayed objects, some hundred are rare and of great value. These include an inscribed wine jar bearing the name of Aurangzeb Alamgir (17th century), a jade chamakali with the name Jahangir and the date 1036 AD, a 16th-century painting of a scene from the Kalpasutra depicting an elephof India. Gradually, it expanded to include excavated antiquities from Piparahawa, Kapilavastu, where the Buddha grew up. Today, this has evolved into a multipurpose museum with sculpture, bronuated in the historic Dhoti Chhattar Manzil and the Lai Baradari. Among other attractions is a modern structant rider and a Jain mum, a 16th-century copy of the Harivansha in Persian with nine illustrations, rare silver and gold coins, a prehistoric anthropomorphic figure and a fossilised plant
I was eager to visit the Butterfly Park...but....unfortunately the person there inside the ticket window informed me that its not good to visit....Overall I would like to say If you are planning to visit the Lucknow Zoo you must visit the butterfly park.It was 100th Anniversary of the Lucknow Zoo...i thought there will be some offers for the visitors but the ticket prices were damn higher than the general days...
Very good for eco tourism lover there are various types of animals like many varieties of deer, lion tiger beer hens sarus ajgar snake etc... and good spot for picnic for childrens
Entry fee - βΉ80/-Toy train - βΉ30/-Butterfly garden - βΉ20/-A ver big zoo. If want to explore every corner of zoo, than please take 4 to 5 to spare. We have a cafeteria inside the zoo. Ample parking space for 2 and 4 wheelers. Very diversified collection of species. Few rare animals and birds are also here. Very clean and green vicinity. We loved this place. Kids are going to love this place.

Awesum place for animal lovers, good place for family trip to watch beautiful birds and animals.
Nice place to visit . Toy train is good and yess tiger, lion is centre of attraction.Clean and well maintained. Boating club is good for kids not for adults. Generally over crowded on Sunday.Ban on entry of plastic and outside food. Fast food is also there but a little costly.Park for kids. Museum is good place to visit if you are interested in history.Parking is available.
Really so beautiful place.... Lots of different type of animals and birds are their and beautiful parks are merged into it.
Not bad.. All the animals are not active that feels boring...
It is a very big place so i recommend you can explore it by hiring their buggy or they also have toy train for visitors. You can enjoy here with family and friends both.
You must have a full day to visit the whole zoo for sure...... dont rush yourself here to enjoy the zoo
Good experience, well maintained, animals are also there including lion and bangal tiger. Food facilities are available inside. Ticket price 80rs for adults and 50rs for childrens.Remember to go to gate number 2 if you want to park your vehicle there is no parking available at gate number 1 also the distance is to much from gate number 1 to 2 so better if you directly go to gate number 2. Do not park your vehicle on road there is dedicated parking available.
A very enjoyable place . Can see almost many animals and reptiles. Have a museum inside it is also a mind attractive. In the museum there were things regarding to the mummy and Egypt . Theres train facility also means u can see things in a small train. There was aquarium also and many types of fish were present. Have seen anacondas and many unseen birds like ostrich and many more.Ticket fees was 80rs and museum ticket was of 10rs . But was worth of it.Thank you π
Best place for children to bring here and lots of animals and snakes have to watch
The place is full of fun and Masti. In a single place one can get complete package of Enjoyment. The 3D show,Museum,Boating,Aquarium are the places that make it cool.
Just like the every other zoological park, you will find greenery and peace. You can feel close to nature for while.Apart from that you can enjoy the toy train ride, have some food (dont expect restaurant like taste but good enough to quench your hunger) . Good thing is that there is plenty of sitting places if you feel tired.Overall, a well maintained zoo to spend some good time with your kids/family.
Children would rather enjoy more than adults, Take them for a joyful ride of the train. No polythene/plastics are allowed. Make sure you never carry them there.
Very big zoo and you get to see a lot of unique animals
It was a fantastic trip with kids. Food was also good there. Wheelchair and prams are also available there. New animals and cages are introduced.
Fantastic.Thats called zoo.We are very excited when we reached there. And very interesting placeSo many animals and birds we see there which we never see in real.ππ As you see in pic
Very beautiful place I have seen zoo first time in my life but here I had a very bad experience ,the employee misbehaved with me and my friends they were all abused us .
One day family trip...So many animals to see..loved this place..U can bring ur home cooked food there and enjoy....Special train is also there..for kids as well as adults...
Best zoo ever amazing experience large area to walk and see all animals , train π facilitie, 2 big parks to enjoy and play games , museum to see historic things such as life of Buddha , coins gold silver and bronze , swords of kings , etc must visit
Zoo area is very large, so you have to spend minimum 3 hours to see all the Animals, Birds, Snakes...etc.Lion, Tigers, all are there...
Good place to visit with children, entry fee of 60 for adults. You can see fish aquarium, lion, tiger, birds, white peacock.Snakes are also there but glass of cages were not cleaned. Difficult to get good visuals.Toy train is good. Canteen is also available in it.
Well maintained Zoo with a variety of mammals, birds, fishes etc. Lucknow Zoological Garden includes animals, toy train, children park, museum, butterfly park, Nature Interpretation Center along with an Indian Air Force Plane.Really a beautiful and mesmerising place to visit if youre in Lucknow.
Good zoo with a toy train which helps people spend quality time with family..This place also has a butterfly park but enquire that its butterfly season before purchasing the extra ticket to visit....The toy train has a scenic route and helps explore the best animals in the zoo.The place is beautifully maintained and requires atleast 1 - 1.30 hour to visit!! The place has White Tigers and Majestic lions with a variety of cute colorful birds..The only disadvantage is that its difficult to create good pictures of the animals due to the excess wiring and fencing around the animals!!
Great place to hang out with friends and family. Perfect picnic spot. If you visit on holidays be ready for some crowd and also Museum is closed on holidays. Food(snacks) is also available inside.
I Loved the zoo.The animals are in a huge abundance. And not to mention the toy train was lit. But there were some empty cages aswell so the zoo administration needs to work on that and also the zoo museum has been closed since a long time and they havent told any reason for it , the zoo administration needs to work on these two things as soon as possible cause museum is a huge tourist attraction and the empty cages dont look good.
Adorable and full enjoyment for kids and family π
Very old and very popular zoo in north India. Located in a vast area, as well as in the center of Lucknow city. The vast collection of animals, including some rare ones make it special. The garden and old trees are very nice. Toy train ride and also, battery cars are fun for all. It was a great delight for me to visit there with my family.
The place is good for visiting...there are plenty species of animals... And the place Is quite big as well...
Awesome place to visit with family. Please bring mask with you without that no entry.
Great In a βhistoricβ decision, the Samajwadi Party government has renamed the Lucknow Prani Udyan, popularly known as Lucknow zoo, as βNawab Wajid Ali Shah Prani Udyan, Lucknow,β making it the first official move-since Independence - to name a monument after a Nawab of Oudh, or Avadh
Toy train π is very good.4/5 starThere is no parking for car.1/5 StarOverall good place for children
Nice place for fun specially for children.Lots of animals are there.
Please read this review for detailed infomation:Ticket cost of zoo = Rs 80 for AdultTicket cost for Butterfly Park = Rs 30Ticket cost for 3D Show = Rs 30Ticket for Museum= Rs 10Main attractions in the Lucknow zoo1) White tiger2) Bear3) Lion4) Giraffe5) Tiger6) White peacockSnakes, reptiles, birds, water species are also present.REVIEW OF MUSEUM INSIDE THE ZOO1) Waste of money dont go.Positive points:1) Well maintained2) Not too much crowd3) Good for one time visitNegative points:1) Beverages inside the zoo cost too much high. A softy cone cost Rs 302) Ticket cost high it should be Till Rs 50CONCLUSIONGood for one time visit
Good place for kids. Cleanliness is excellent. No plastic policy,so dont carry chips etc anything wrapped in plastic. They wud simply ask u to transfer all the contents into a paper bag which they give. Pet bottles are allowed in with a stamp for 20rs refundable. Once u return the bottle u get ur 20rs back.
Place is good for hanging out though. You have access to the parking area, lots of eateries around gate no. 1, then you have canteen inside the zoo, water machines at every corner, washrooms, ice cream parlor, variety of cats, birds, monkeys, fish, and also they have butterfly section inside for which you have to pay βΉ20 per head to access it.Would give it four stars.......But, I hate the concept of zoo and helding other animals as captive for our entertainment. They were all so bored living in those small cells. And the babbar sher was hurt he was limping and the same happened with the white peafowl. Looks like theyre not being taken care. Theyre wild animals set them free in a sanctuary. Zoo is not their natural habitat.Peace...
Nostalgic for the people who lives in Lucknow for a long time. Although it has very less animals and mismanagement.
The best zoo with almost all types of animal in good health, the greenery is also great with toy train. This is called actual zoo they have 2 White tigers, hippo, Lion, and lot of animals, they also have snake park and fish aquarium in the same premises.
How to spend your day in winters ? Go to zoo π .Lucknowβs zoo is just amazing. You have a lit to see , the museums , fish aquarium, owl house and a lot of animals. At one end you have deadly pythons and on the other end you have beautiful birds around the pond. You can find almost all the wild animals like tiger , white tiger , lion and the jackals. There are lot of selfie spots around the campus including an Air india aeroplane.
Its amazing to visit there n see different type of animals, birds....blah... Blah...Bt for peace its wonderful.
Very good place to visit . Monday, second Saturday and gazetted holiday close
Nice very fun place go and enjoy
Its great experience here, So much to see.Unlike Delhi Zoo there are are no popular animals. But here in Lucknow. Zoo is small as compared to Delhi. But here u can easily see lion, Tiger,White Tiger π etc.
A zoo is a very important place for children. 26 August 2021, nocturnal house and aquarium are closed. No new animals. Dense hedges behind barricades make it very difficult to children to see the animals. Most of the birds in cages are mixed. Birds are poorly identified.I humbly request the Government and the opposition to pay more attention to this jewel.
Very neat and clean. Has museum, train ride ,kids park etc.A package deal on a sunny winter day.
All things is too much intrestingI suggest to other people please visit in zoo in their part timeThanks
Good place for kids, must visit the museum in the zoo. It a must visit place in Lucknow.
