Good place old ruins of 1857, revolts many bullet marks and surely a very spooky place,😁😁
Great place old architecture
Area encroached, not maintained....ruined left to waha away from history. Authority ignorant maybe
You will only adore this place if:1) you are with your friends(MUST)2) vist it in winters3) vist musa bagh at night(MUST)Although the place has nothing ohter than a closed well and ruins but these features will give thirll if you visit it with your friends at night.During day- nothing interestingDuring night-G**D PHAT JAEGE
Great place ..i like it
Nice place to hang out
Nice historical place
Historical place and knowledge base point
Good place for exploring.
Place is nice to visit if you like ruins and want some place like residency but with less crowd. Not publicised. Nothing too much to see. But its a calm place, has a village scenery. However, it was totally desserted. No one and nothing except 2-3 locals. Only if some development is done, roads are maintained and it is made a proper tourist spot, it will attract more people.
Good
This is the land of the Department of Archeology, it is the tomb of Captain Baba
Beautiful place away from the city hustle. Perfect for a break out with a small group of friends. The ruins have not been restored giving them the battered look of past.
Standing in the vicinity of lucknow this magnificent sandstone structure is proof of the perils of time and negligence. Attached to it is also a dargah. Although the board outside states about it being protected it has been abandoned by the authorities priorities.
Very good
Musa Bagh also known as Monsieur Bagh, is an extensive garden complex in the city of Lucknow of the Awadh region of India.
Monument are good but dont go alone...looks risky...
Nice heritage site. It has a potential to be developed as a tourist point. However it is in the state of neglect despite having been protected by ASI.
Very Good
Awesome 😎
Good place
Unknown historical place of the area
Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula has chosen this site and had a garden made here. After Asaf-ud-Daula the fifth Nawab of Awadh Nawab Saadat Ali Khan built the garden complex. It is located near the river Gomti. The garden Complex was completed between 1803 - 1804 AD. The structure of the Kothi of Musa Bagh is in ruins today. Musa Bagh has great historical importance.
Good Place For Photo shoot Lovers Otherwise Not Soo Good Bt Dont Go Alone At Night Its Too Risky
Good place
One of the best historical building of lucknow.
For Photo Shoot n CinematographyBut be careful bcs of the local people was roaming everytime there and they do some sort of cause to you that all depends upon the situation
Must visit...on the outskirts of Lucknow....important part of the heritage
This is how I explored Musa Bagh. ASI should seriously look after this site and restore it.
This place very beautiful and so amazing
Musa is Moses in English and it is not clear how the gardens got the name of this prophet. There appears to be no notable person of this name who could be related with it in anyway. A British writer presumes it to be a corruption of Monsieurs garden - meaning the Frenchmans garden, but that appears to be far-fetched, considering the poor knowledge of French amongst Nawabs. There is another name for Musa Bagh which is Baroween and has been used by Europeans, but in this case also, the origin of the name is not clear. Maybe it was the distortion of Urdu Bairoon-e Shehr (beyond the city), an indication of the location of the Kothi and the gardens, being on the outskirts of the city, far away from the main area. The situation has not changed even today, though there appears to be a plan by the urban development authorities to disturb the serene beauty of Musa Bagh by developing a huge colony, very close to the protected archaeological site.Musa Bagh is another five kilometres away, off the main Hardoi road, on the western end of the old city [where now the new Sabzi Mandi is located].
Musa Bagh (Hindi: मूसा बाग़, Urdu: موسى باغ, translation: Garden of Moses), also known as Monsieur Bagh, is an extensive garden complex in the city of Lucknow of the Awadhregion of India.W.H. The complex was popularly known as Monsieur Bagh, which was later, colloquialized into Musa Bagh.
Good place but need some maintenance
Nice historical view & beautiful scenic beauty surrounded by River and forest.
Nothing is here.Everything was damaged now.So dont waste your time and money to visit here
This place was initially known as Monseiur Bagh , It was built in the 19th century , unfortunately its not maintained properly . Lot of people come here and use this place as a picnic spot .Musa Bagh, the Lost Gem, its role in the history of Lucknow and the history of Independent India.Just before the entrance on the left there was garbage dumped (glass pieces), there were storage structures for cow dung cakes and there were two bulls (definitely of the villagers) sitting (properly tethered). Right at the entrance there were two males sitting and observing us.Nawab Asaf-ud-Daulah, 4th Nawab Wazir of Awadh (Oudh) has chosen this site and had a garden made here. Nawab Saadat-Ali-Khan (5th Nawab) built the garden complex. It was designed by the French General Claude Martin (yes a French serving in British East India Company, who had designed many buildings in Lucknow), who lies buried in Constantia or what today is known as La Martiniere Boys School (another one of his designs). The design was on the lines of an English Manor. The garden complex is on a raised mount, close to the river Gomti. Earlier the river was closer, and now it has moved slightly farther (changed its course). Around it are lush green fertile farms (they were there even when the garden complex was constructed) which thanks to unplanned development would soon turn into concrete jungle or barren land, if nothing is done. The garden complex was completed between 1803-1804 CE; far away from the main city, to serve as a country retreat. The structure today is in ruins. At the entrance there are stairs in a shape of semi- circle, broken at many places. The structure is without roof. The walls are made out of Lakhori bricks and had been plastered. The building would in its hay days would have had many floors, the level on which we were standing and a level above (because of the presence of pillared walls on the higher level). Some restoration work has been done by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) more than a decade ago. We could see beautiful Roman style pillars on the top level, having beautiful stucco work. At centre there is a large hall (no roof), which is surrounded by a large wide gallery like area which earlier were rooms. At the corners of the hall, there are two cylindrical chamber with dome like structures having winding staircases reaching the upper level.Musa Bagh played an important role in the revolt of 1857 (related to Awadh region), India’s first war of independence against the British or as the British call it the Sepoy Mutiny. It was here that the revolt in Awadh region started in 1857.
Place to spend time with peace in the early morning hours
Musa Bagh (Hindi: मूसा बाग़, Urdu: موسى باغ, translation: Garden of Moses), also known as Monsieur Bagh, is an extensive garden complex in the city of Lucknow of the Awadhregion of India.W.H. Siddiqi. Lucknow: The Historic City. Sandeep Prakashan. Retrieved 2007-10-18. Musa Bagh The extensive garden complex, now overgrown with vegetation and surrounded by cultivated fields is situated on... The complex was popularly known as Monsieur Bagh, which was later, colloquialized into Musa Bagh. The fifth Nawab of Awadh, SaadatAli Khan (1798-1814) following the pattern of the French General, Claude Martin, in his buildings on the banks of the river Gomti, on the eastern side of the city viz. Constantia (now the La Martiniere College for Boys) and Farhat Bakhsh, his town house (later known as Chhatar Manzil), also built an Indo-European style building on the river-bank at Musa Bagh, at the west end of the city. This building not only had many features similar to the Frenchmans buildings, it also had large beautiful gardens which were highly appreciated by European visitors of early 19th century.Musa Bagh was developed as a scenic spot on a sloping ground, close to the serpentine curving riverside. The gardens presented a spectacular view of the existing grand buildings of the time at Lucknow, such as Aalamgir mosque, Machchhi Bhawan, fort, Panch Mahala, Rumi Darwaza, Asafi mosque, Bara Imambara, Sunehra Burj, Daulat Khana, and the Pucca Pul (Stone Bridge).Musa Bagh Kothi was built under the supervision of Aazam-ud-Daulah for Nawab Saadat Ali Khan, around 1803-1804, to serve as country retreat. It was here that fights between animals like tigers, elephants, wild buffaloes and rhinos were arranged for the pleasure of the Nawab and amusement of his royal guests, quite often Europeans.
The place holds a lot of history if you look at the archives but it is in a very bad shape. Apart from no maintaince by the state organisations, there is dirt all around.
