Absolute disgrace of a hospital, I am a carer for a gentleman who is deaf and blind. our last visit was a 6 hour wait after our appointment time leaving the gentle who is 85 and a type 1 diabetic with no food, sitting in a packed waiting room, in 30° heat, with no where to sit . Rude nurses who dont listen. please ask for a different hospital...this is apalling care of patients.

I was visiting a relative for a family function for two weeks and whilst I was there I ended up falling off the stairs and hurting my back very severely, to the extent that I could not even move. The ambulance had to be called and when they arrived, I was still in so much pain that they put the mask on me and gave me ibuprofen to inhale through the mask. With the help of the paramedics I managed to reach the ambulance. Both of the male paramedics were very nice. When I went to the hospital, the doctor who saw me was friendly, he gave me crutches and told me to use them until I am able to walk without them.It was very difficult for me to get in and out of the car; I found it very difficult to put pressure on my right side. But the crutches did help me a little bit.Whilst I was still at my relatives house I and started getting severe back pain and pain on the right side of my stomach, I could not stand properly. So I called up 111, explained my situation and from hearing me they advised to go to the hospital immediately. As I went to the hospital, the receptionist was quite rude to me. It seemed like she did not want to work there. Then when the doctor saw me, I told her the incident of how I fell and got this pain. She touched my back so hard that I ended up screaming in pain really loudly. Instead of apologising to me or checking further she ended leaving the room mention shes coming back. However she did not return, she actually needed a senior doctor. The senior doctor came and told me that Im still young and I should not be using crutches. She was very rude and her comments were rather sarcastic. She would not listen and she did not understand what I was going through . Presumably the junior doctor must have told my situation to the other doctor but she just came and ended up not listening, telling me to leave and start walking without the crutches. I was shocked by her behaviour but I was not able to respond back to her strange behavior as I was in pain. This happened in 2017 and I hope after many years steps have been taken to improve the service because if they are like that with every other patient then it is not something acceptable and some action needs to been taken against those doctors.Doctors are highly skilled professionals and should be empathetic towards their patients. I hope these two doctors have changed their behaviour toward their patients. I’m still confused as to why did the junior doctor felt the need to get the senior doctors after I screamed, perhaps she was scared or didn’t know what to do but I should have been informed. That was very unprofessional. I do not remember any of the doctors names as it was a while ago now. Please train your doctors / staff.Till date I still have back pains! Anyone can have back pains please let your doctors know especially the one who told me I was too young to get one!!

I had a referral from queen Elizabeth Hospital to go to queen Mary ophthalmology for my 9 years old child. I went there last Friday, they refused to see us even If they saw his eye getting worse. I begged the lady to examine my son but her answer was no as she sent many patients before us bk to their home and we are not an exception. she said that she can give me an appointment on monday. since I had too many days off and scared of losing my job, I managed to have a family member to take him to his appointment which she said was scheduled at 14:20. to our surprise, when they went there they said that we dont have any appointment and that it was a lie. I dont know what to say when the one we trust as professional lie to a 9 yo. its a shame first not to help someone coming from an emergency especially a child with horrible eye pain and more you lie to us just to get rid of us. so where is humanity and the sermon you had before . Had dental surgery a while ago here, couldn’t fault the team whatsoever. Had a call for the surgery rather quickly and even was okay about rearranging . The only fault I had was the waiting time it was definitely long as I had got there early in the morning and despite the fact you can’t eat/drink after a certain time it definitely knocks you, as I soon started to get a headache before my surgery. The anaesthesiologist, walked me through the process of what was going to happen such as the process of the before the surgery and after. The team was so well at keeping me calm as it was my first every surgery and took really good care of me after the surgery, the surgeon even came out to see me and told me the surgery went. Called 111 about recurring tonsillitis and throat becoming swelled and difficult to breath. Booked me an appointment for 10 pm, 2 hours later but that not being a problem for me. Arrive 21:55 and eventually get seen at 22:25. Still that is not a problem as understandable being a Saturday night. Instead of being seen by a doctor, was seen by a triage nurse who told me that it doesn’t matter if I have an appointment, that I must wait in the waiting area with 7 other people ahead of me. Without even looking at my throat she made this judgement, as her observation of my blood pressure and temperature was adequate enough. After explaining why I would of waited 2 hours at home and a further significant length of time there when I could of gone straight to an actual hospital instead, she told me I need to take this up with 111. So I did and was told by both the call handler and her superior that this triage nurse was wrong and has delayed my care. Exactly what I had explained about the waiting at home part, they were now repeating to me. Now being 23:30 and no chemist is open nor even being seen by a doctor here, a trip to a proper hospital where I can get treated before my throat completely closes up is in check. My advice is if you want to be seen and treated, visit a proper hospital than this shambles of a centre run by what can only be described as comedians. Wait time I’m sure is still quicker in hospitals. Wouldn’t of given a star because I never got treated but will not let you give 0. Stay clear and get help elsewhere.

Took the wife here to have 3 stitches removed in the Urgent Care department. Two and a half hours later, they were romeved in a 60 second procedure. The reason we had to go to the Urgent Care department wa that an appointment at the doctors would have meant a two week wait when they had to come out in three days. Our surgery has a three week waiting least, which is the norm, sadly. The Urgent Care unit appears to run a triage system, people came in, self-registered on wall mounted computers and waited. My wife never saw a triage nurse and no one gave any idea of how long we would have to wait. Unlike other hospitals/departments there is no indication given via screens. When, after an hour and a half, I had the temerity to ask how long we had to wait. I was brusquely told that I had only waited an hour and a half and it may be another 30-45 minutes. The individual would not meet my eyes and was in fact unnecessarily rude.I think the system needs reviewing.Having said that, other departments that I have been involved with hav3 always been polite and helpful.

There is a notice which tells you to knock and wait but it is behind darkened glass and hard to read. You need to step back down a couple steps after knocking as the door opens outwards.
