This is a heritage mosque located in the heart of Lucknow,on the banks of River Gomti. It is know as teele wali masjid because is stands tall on a teela(a raised area above ground level). It is believed that once the Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb offered prayers in this masjid when he was passing from Lucknow. This is the most famous Sunni Mosque in whole Lucknow.
This mosque is no less than some Mughal monument. Beautiful in its entirety , this is one place you can retire to for peace and tranquility.A spacious and well constructed mosque that has also become a favourite spot for many to offer Jumá prayer. A wonderful place to visit. Take a break from the busy hectic life and enjoy some quality time in here. Beautiful landscapes and gardens with ancient structures. A must visit place to go and cherish.

One of the most famous and beautiful mosques of Lucknow... Grand architecture... Situated on an elevated piece of land ( thats why the name Teela) with the Gomti river flowing adjacent to it .. Near the entrance on the right hand side, mausoleum of two saints is present..The most attracting part of this mosque ( usually of other mosques too) is the serenity and tranquility that you feel here... Usually Visited by very few people... Dont know about festive days... Do visit it during Asar time and pray Namaz here... Peaceful atmosphere...
Very very good Place and you visit with Faimly
There was a Hindu temple under this teele wali masjid, the temple of Lakshman ji. Which has been forcibly destroyed by the Aurangzeb.

Its a historical Mosque.A Glimpse of Mughal Architecture :—On the bank of river Gomti near the Hardinge Bridge, most popularly known as Pakka Pul or the Laal Pul, stands a beautiful mosque known as the Jami Masjid or Teele Wali Masjid. The exquisite monument is surrounded by the Bada Imambara, Rumi Darwaaza. The entry to the campus of the mosque is adjacent to the Laal Pul. This mosque has been attracting thousands of Muslims not only from Lucknow but from adjacent cities and states. On the occasion of Namaaz-e-Alvida or Juma’tul Vida (the last Friday of the Holy month of Ramzan), the number of people attending the prayer is considered to be the largest in the city. This beautiful mosque was constructed by the Mughal governor during the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb (1658-1707). Like many other Mughal monuments in the city, the exact date of construction of the mosque is not specified.
It was under renovation at the time we went to see this, but the overall experience was something to remember for.
Ma Sha Allah very beautiful and historical Mosque🕌, Muslims must visit and offer the prayer once. There is also Imambaras near this mosque, one is just beside it and the other one is at a small distance(Bara Imambara). This Artitectural monument is in existence since the time of Nawabs. The beauty of Lucknow.🤙🏻And please Muskuraye Aap Lucknow Mein Hain! 😁✌
Serene and pretty place. A stones throw distance away from the Asifi Imambara (better known as Bara Imambara) in the heart of Lucknow, this Dargah and Masjid complex is spacious and provides a scenic and slightly elevated view of Gomti River on one side and the city on the other.

Very good and beautiful masjid with a huge ground for functions. Just add few washrooms in the ground so the people coming in the functions can use it.
Looking great but there are some issues besides masjids land so new creation is stopped by Police/Court. Peoples says that the besides this masjids land was a temple named Lakshman Teela.Overall this place is nice for Namaaz and calming plavce.

A mosque. Primarily the name was Lakshman Teela as Lakshman, younger brother of Bhagwan Ram, created this city from this high rise point. After mugal invasion, a mosque was built here. The mosque is beautiful and white in colour. Have not been inside, but I like this place.
As the name suggests it is located on a small hillock on the banks of Gomti river. Imposing structure with big lawns around it. Historic Mosque Mughal Architecture and a tourist attraction.

Like many other Mughal monuments in the city, the exact date of construction of the mosque is not specifiedmosque stands on a mound or a Teela and that is why it is called as Teele Waali Masjid which means the Mosque on the mound. It is stated by few historians that the mound was formed when the Britishers bombarded the eastern gateway of Bada Imambara in the year 1857. The mosque must have been built as the main mosque to provide to the religious needs of the people of the Mughal localities which were built during the Mughal reign. It is also considered that the mosque would have been built for scholar-saint Shaikh Pir Muhammad, who attracted a number of students of higher studies not only from India but also from various other countries.
