Visited nbri for a science festival (IISF 2018).Visited their well maintained labs were some interesting research works are going on. The botanical garden present here is the Indias largest botanical garden, and it was mind blowing. It had numerous different types of plant spieces and they were from all parts of the world. It also had some of the worlds rarest plants which were unbelievable.Ive attached few pictures too, and one of it named welwistchia mirablis (you can see it in the below attachment) is one of the rarest speciest which only bears two leaves and has a lifespan of a thousand years!.A must visit place.
If you watnt to see different types of tree and flowers then its better place and it is also Ecofriendly nd beautiful place..you can see that there are so many varieties of plant are planted..If you are interested in plants the this place best for you..And in annual flower exhibition you can see many attractive varieties of flowers and you can also buy....😊😊
Worst place to work. Scientists are spoiling careers of youngsters by wasting their time in useless research work..no publications are given to them....the seniors make their monopoly in labs...harass juniors to the level I cant explain...they dont want any juniors to flourish because they are unsecured for their position in lab... worst of all...totally dirty place to work. Government should make notice of it and should make strict rules so that such places could be sanitized.
If you are interested in science of plants 🌱 i.e. botany then youll find this place amazing and adventurous too. You can find many varieties of plants here in different areas present from across the globe 🌎 which you can see if you want to research or want to just see it. It will be a very great opportunity to be here for you.
A large, green research area in the heart of the city. It also has botanical garden for morning joggers. I did my research work there and found the place very green and peaceful. There are variety of trees and flowers grown there. The area is too big to be covered on foot. Research labs are good and hold good reputation.
It was good experience and exposure visit to NBRI
Very good place but not very standard to call you it national level
Went for training .......I had very worse experience if anyone considering going for training for the completion of Masters or ph.d plz dont consider it .
Very calm and peaceful place youll find in the mid of a chaotic city, pollution free... At some places it even replicates a forest which makes it more beautiful. And off course for biology students this place can be a fun learning hub. But on exhibition days, only exhibition sites are available for the visitors, nothing else (apart from the exhibition) they can visit, and exhibitions on certain days of winters too are worth a visit. Being a biology student, I personally liked it a lot. Great place.
This is one of the oldest and premier research institution of CSIR for drug discovery and research.
Beautiful pollution free lush green neat and clean atmosphere .Various rare botanical and herbal plants are available here .
The National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) is a research institute of CSIR in Lucknow. It is engaged in the field of taxonomy and modern biology. NBRI developed a new variety of Bougainville, named Los Banos Variegata-Jayanthi.National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) is also the state botanical research institute of South Africa. Originally conceptualised and set up as the National Botanic Gardens (NBG) by Professor Kailas Nath Kaul on behalf of the State Government of Uttar Pradesh, it was taken over by the CSIR in 1953. Dr Triloki Nath Khoshoo joined in 1964 as the Assistant Director, shortly afterwards becoming the Director. Initially engaged in research work in the classical botanical disciplines, the NBG went on laying an increasing emphasis in keeping with the national needs and priorities in the field of plant sciences, on its applied and developmental research activities. Due to the untiring efforts of Dr Khoshoo, the institute rose to the stature of being the National Botanical Research Institute in 1978, reflecting the correct nature and extent of its aims and objectives, functions and R & D activities. Sikandar Bagh is a famous and historic pleasure garden, located in the grounds of the Institute.
Good
Best place for research
The place is under national vigilance . You will not be allowed to enter even if you are a tourist. The garden is good but the Director or Officials are trash. They kept no provision for tourist visit.Lack of planning for travelers, which is the real INCREDIBLE INDIA.Must avoid. It will be a wastage of time as you will be prohibited. It opens at 5AM & closes at 9AM for visitors.

I do my research work here and I love it
National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI) - an institution under CSIR - is one of the premier research institutions. Situated near historical Sikander Bagh, the institute carry out research and documentation of plants. Though the institution is not open to public, its adjoining botanical garden is open, with some restrictions albeit. Once a palatial garden during Nawabs era and named after one of his queen, the Sikander Bagh was destroyed during the first war of independence in 1857. Bullet marks can still be seen on its wall. During its recent renovation work old bricks were found testifying its monumental nature. Some of the bricks have been cemented there for display as well. After the British recapture of Lucknow, the garden was razed and a road constructed through it. Later, after independence, a portion of the garden was taken over by the government and BOTANICAL GARDEN was established under NBRI. Every year in December and January annual Chrisenthemum/Colius and Rose/Gladiolus show is organised here. These flower shows are very colourful which pleases people. The ambiance inside the garden is peaceful and secluded. Variety of plants and trees are there with scientific names affixed on them. Numerous freely roaming peacocks adorn the garden. It is a paradise for nature lovers.
