We had Korean food for the first time and we were glad we came here. The food is absolutely delicious. We had the Kimchi Dumplings as a starter, they were so tasty and still light. Then we had the O-sam Bulgogi as our main, is was so flavourful and delicious, it came with pork and squid and with a side of rice, seaweed salad, kimchi and what I believe was fish cake. Then we had mochi ice cream for dessert. Everything was on point and service was quick. Will definitely come back and can’t recommend enough!

Absolutely amazing food and very friendly, helpful staff. We had the Dolset Bibibap, Kimchi Jeon and Yangnyeom Samgyeobsal, which were all delicious.We saw so many people be turned away due to the restaurant being fully booked, it pays to ring in advance to make sure you get a seat. The meals took a little while due to how busy it was, however the staff were very apologetic and brought snacks out. Will definitely be returning.

It’s our first time Korean food after watching many of their TV series’s. I’m in love with this place, absolutely amazing!Such an awesome flavours!!I’m a South Indian and only like something spicy but this food is so comforting (with or without spice).We are also only chicken egg and vege eaters and still got lots of options to choose from.

Best Korean place in the region!The grilled meat portions are huge, are so fresh/flavourful and give you all the Kbbq thrills without having to grill the meat yourself.They have a single meal menu and a shared menu (grilled meats etc). The shared menu suggests between 2 people but you get enough to split between 3 or 4 depending on your groups appetites.In addition to fair pricing, all the portions are on the generous side and you just cant fault how great it all tastes. Seriously. They also give you free side dishes that they refill which is so nice.Its a cozy restaurant with a great drinks selection (alcoholic and non alcoholic) and very warm, friendly owners.

Really enjoyed the Korean flavours, very tasty food and probably the best Korean Fried Chicken I’ve tried, good size pieces which came out hot and crunchy, smothered in a delicious sauce. Would definitely recommend.

Food was so amazing! Looks like a tiny place youd pass over, but definitely dont as the food is worth every moment you wait.

Have been here 3 times before it was great. But this time we had waited a bit longer than usual, and there was a bit of confusion about our extra order so after finishing our 1st meal, we told the manager never mind about the other order. We still had a wonderful dinner, Thanked him, and left still satisfied.

We ordered beef rib BBQ. It was hard and too sweet. Considering the quality, it’s expensive. They are very cheap with their side dishes. I have been to Korea and many Korean restaurants in Auckland. It just can not compete at all.

Best Korean restaurant in Lower Hutt ever! Their traditional Bibimbap gave me the taste that I have desperately missed it so much since the last time I visited Korea. It’s so delicious. The restaurant is cozy which is suitable for couples and families. A great option for cozy dining.

Kimchi Stew that has 3 meat options means that I could finally eat one of my favorite Korean dishes. This is an authentic Korean restaurant. If you are in lower hut, its a must for lunch or dinner.

Was extremely disappointed. First one to walk in at 12 and had my order taken, sat down, and the restaurant started to fill up. 12:45 came around and everyone else was served before me and my partner. How does that work? Told them we are leaving only to be told that our order is next?! We were the first ones to order and the last to receive anything. Nonetheless we left without eating. Who would want to stay and eat after being treated so disrespectfully. Also note, 2 korean families were served before us even though they showed up 20mins after (us). Cant be a coincidence.. such a shame as I really liked this place and would eat and order there food often. Prices have gone up, service has gone down. would be very hesitant to come again next time.

The food is amazing! Their fried chicken is our family favourite! We also love the soft kimchi stew and kimchi jjiggae. And chicken/beef bulgogi. Whenever we are entertaining or have people over we will order all of these dishes! They never disappoint!

Soju!!!! 😂 havent yet found another Korean place that sell flavoured soju! Delicious food! Friendly service! Recommended! Do try their Mochi Ice Cream Dessert!

Simply the best Korean restaurant in the Wellington area, well worth the travel to Lower Hutt if you live in town. Try the bulgogi, as its a good reference dish, and youll see how well executed, fresh and authentic it feels. Plus youll get to learn a little bit about the Korean culture on the backside of the menu!

My first experience at Han River was amazing! The food was beautiful and well cooked, the service was outstanding and the owners were kind and welcoming. The waiter who served us was very patient and knew alot about the food. If youre after a sweet, spicy, savory or fried, but not oily or greay, meal and you want authentic Asian cuisine, Korean food at Han River is the way to go. Id book ahead if you were wanting to sit in because theyre always busy. Cant wait to return. Thanks for a good night!

Best Korean restaurant in Wellington, their Chicken Sunsal is off the hook and their dumplings are big fat morsels of happiness. I have enjoyed every dish I have tried and the food is always made with love! The staff are super friendly and polite, each time I have gone there they offer myself and my friends little bottles of Yakult for free as a thank you they are tasty too. They get busy too best to book a head for a table!

No doubt the best Korean in Greater Wellington. The Ddukbokki with extra cheese is amazing

Service depending on the boss, he happy service is awesome, however if hes not happy see what you get. Also dont go without making reservation, even there is empty table you will mostly likely be rejected because they are always soooooooooooo fully booked. I also dunno why..... 🤦🏻‍♂️

Went into today, and only tried two dishes, but really tasty service very quick - 10 minutes (approx) so 35-45 minutes leisurely ordering and eating.Wife doesnt do spicy but there was enough choice for her. Front off house really responsive and gave a high level of service.Might be the new weekly lunch date location.
