Wahaca is still by far one of my favourite restaurants. The food, cocktails and atmosphere is great and we always enjoy our experience here. This past time, although the service wasnt as good as it always is, the drinks and food thankfully made up for it. They still have the best sweet potato and feta taquito and the margaritas are to die for!
One of the best meals ive had in ages! Amazing options, and everything my friend and I had was so delicious. Staff were lovely too! Will definitely be back again and recommending to others 😊Thanks
Regular visitor to Wahaca whenever I come to London either by myself or with others. This trip was myself, my wife and 2 children. As always the service was fantastic, our waitress went from quite an empty area to cover, to jam packed in the time we were eating and she still continued to make sure we were okay and the that the food came out in good time. The food was delicious, we had a good spread across the small plates section and couldnt fault anything. The one key thing I would want to call out was that we were offered to try some cricket salsa (pictured) for free... I am so glad we did. Normally I wouldnt try something like this but it was genuinely delicious and I can only hope they bring it onto the menu fully in the future.
Lovely restaurant interior, great options on the menu (many vegan options too) and polite, warm stuff. I’ll definitely be going back to try things on the menu I didn’t get to this time.
Well its not cheap but not expensive. £90 for 4 of us (7+9 year old eating adult food). No booze.Food is well prepared and nicely served, flavours are well balanced and Wahaca serves good Mexican food. Portions are slightly on the smaller size. The atmosphere is fine but the building is a bit weird, feels like eating in a basement, which of course it is.Highlights were dessert. All in all the food was delicious and recommended to all. This place is good for families as its very informal.
Loved it! The waiters were so attentive and helpful + they accommodated our table which had some people who wanted the standard menu, some vegan and some gluten free. So we were very difficult, but they were extremely helpful. The food also tasted incredible
One of the worst Wahaca experiences I had and because of that my last visit. I used to like it when the owner lady who won masterchef UK back in the days. Nowadays its just a soulless franchised food concept not any better or worse like Wagama, Costa Coffee or Leon. The welcome was rushed and performed like a robort by a very friendly and chatty guy. After we complied to all health and safety regulations we were ushered to our table.Server arrived and the very charming and friendly lady started her service intro. For some reason she was either very nervous or not well trained. She tried to exain the menu to us on what to order in terms of portion size and variety without great sucess. The daily special were printed on a sticky note and stuck on the table. Drinks order was taken but we had to ask twice for tab water as this was missed when other drinks arrived.Food started to arrive. The favourite menu was choosen which came for two people only. As we had to order the menu for two people food selection should come in even numbers but instead some of these items were either single portions or came as in theee items. Again we were two people. We voiced out our fustration about portion size to a supervisor lady who was very appologetic but mentiomed that even she could not understand why some items were tasteless( Chipotle lime slaw- which we retruned it was simply inedible) or came in uneven numbers. For the rejected lime slaw she offered us any alternative or dessert item on the house which we declined. At the checkout process, which is card payment only we were asked to insert our table number, but that number was nowhere to be found. At the end we had tonasknthe waiter for it. On top of that we were charged a discretionary service charge for todays experience.Well it goes without saying, we would like to have our money back and shall never return. In all fairness I have to say that the service and the two female staff members were very polite and friendly, howecer this didnt make up for the poor food quality and taste, poor portion size and overall poor experience hence the one star only rating.
Really good food, some of the seating is more fashionable than truly functional. Great service, lively vibe. Were out of a few items but we still had great options. Only other minor nitpick, the amount of chips wasnt enough for the amount of guacamole we ordered.
My first visit here and I was not disappointed. In our party we had someone who had a nut allergy and they were great in helping them choose food and great that the manager is responsible for taking the orders. Will definitely come back!
Theres a great atmosphere and general buzz about the place. Service was fine, although they seemed rushed. The food was okay. Maybe it was the dishes I ordered but I didnt find them particularly flavourful. I also felt it was overpriced (1 tortilla, black beans and some cheese = £6) but maybe thats just central London.Having the dishes come out randomly as they are made fresh just feels like a system that suits the restaurant rather than the customer. It makes some sense for a group sharing dishes but as a family of three, I had finished before my 9 year old got her food, hardly a good experience. The pay via the QR code approach is interesting. We spent several minutes, trying to read the code. I witnessed a couple on the next table also struggling. What app are you supposed to use?
Absolutely loved the whole experience. From great ambience, to amazing and attentive staff. And to top it off, the food and cocktails were so good!! Absolutely would recommend.
If you want a decent place to eat Mexican food then I’d recommend this, however, they started charging for hot sauce “salsa set”. 1.99 and it wasn’t even spicy. Standard hot sauce would have done the job. I did enjoy my Burrito but not as good as normal. If the waiter had asked how was everything I would have mentioned it. 3 stars!
Found this place just as we were getting hungry. Had a really great time - portion sizes just right and good value for money. Food was really really tasty and a million miles from the usual, poor Mexican chains.
First time back in Covent Garden in a long time and enjoyed our visit to Wahaca. As usual, food and drinks were great. Fresh & flavourful. As you come down the stairs, you will be greeted by somebody go guide you through the COVID-safe measures. Love the sink right at the front to wash hands, which is great idea pandemic or not. Efficient, friendly and informative service from Andre. Thanks.
Great food delivered promptly (great food can be fast food!) Lovely cocktails and tequilas. Our server Andre was excellent and a real asset to the restaurant. We would return just for him!
Our second visit to a Wahaca this weekend! 🤪 Once again the food was delicious and the team were friendly, but at this location the service seemed slightly disorganised and we had to wait for both rounds of drinks. There was a good atmosphere and we would still recommend it!
Amazing food. We hadnt booked but they found us a table.
The service is OK but the food is AWFUL! We found a piece of rag cloth on one our plates which was taken away and refunded however the food in generally just isnt great. Cocktails are good but Id much rather go to las iguanas. Not coming back again.
First time and it was lovely. Sat outside. Had great service and food came quickly. I cannot wait to try the menu
They were really busy when my friends and I visited but staff were very accommodating and service was great. One of my friends has some allergies so the manager took care of her order personally which I thought was great. They also gave her a menu detailing which foods contained which allergens and which of these could be substituted; a really good touch I feel.
Such a lovely, spacious and colourful space! Would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves mexican food. The menu is great, I especially liked that there arent many main dishes, but rather a lot of smaller dishes like tapas, and it is recommended to order 2-3 of them. Also the desserts are great, simple but tasty. The service was perfect, our waiter Andre was very kind and helpful.Overall a wonderful experience!
Well my food was lovely, however 2 of my friends who ordered grilled chicken enchilada (big plate) didnt enjoy theirs as the chicken tasted bland and not fresh. (I tried it too, and agreed) They did let the server know but he didnt acknowledge and cleared the table. A real shame as this isnt an issue we have had before at any wahaca.
Friendly service and good comfort food! I had the nachos and the vegetarian enchiladas which were both really tasty.
Went to celebrate my friends and my birthday and had a brilliant time. The staff were lovely and attentive and even gave us complementary churros once they knew we had bdays. The food was amazing but especially the sweet potatoes bravas (chefs kiss) highly recommend it!!
Food was lovely, but the service definitely needed improving. With the exception of one of waiting staff. Who was lovely he explained they were really understaffed hence why we got overlooked, but stil, took away from the experience.
Fun, nice food, good drinks menu. Shout out to Nancy who looked after our table, she was great!
Been missing Mexican food since left California. The tacos were just so good definitely going to be coming back
Wahaca a Mexican restaurant which is co founded/owned by one of the Masterchef finalists provides good quality Mexican food
Great Mexican food with very friendly and efficient service 👍🏼☺️
Fantastic dinner!Ordered fish tacos, chicken burrito and brownie for dinner. Happy tummy!
Excellent service and they have a comprehensive allergy menu. The food is fresh, portions are generous and the flavours are amazing. Loved it!
First time I have been there but the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and polite. Will definitely go there again
Went there for dinner with the girlfriend, we had a very pleasant meal, great food, fast service, set us down really quickly and had a nice table.Food is amazing as always, drinks and cocktails great. However I did find the service a bit hit and miss this time, every table had water on the table, and complementary nachos, we didnt, also every table had plates based on the number of seats, we had one...Yeah ok I could have asked for all of the above but this should have been given without us havent to ask, specially it wasnt that busy when we got there. However dont let this put you off, the food is still amazing :)
I really liked this Wahaca. The staff was very friendly, the cocktails were good- also have a great selection of them, and the food was amazing. We ordered “The Favourites” for two, which brings you a number of small dishes. All of them were delicious, some of which pictured below. The reason I’m giving it a 4/5 is because some dishes for reasons beyond me have 3 portions even though it’s for 2. You could add 4 to make it an even split!!!The facilities are also very clean and well taken care of which I believe is essential for a good establishment.P.S if you’ve found this post or the pics helpful please do give it a like. Enjoy :)
This is a huge restaurant of the famous chain right in the heart of the West End, a few steps away from Covent Garden. The menu is the same with all the favourite Mexican superstars that many Londoners absolutely love. The staff here is very switched on and quick. (Maybe because its a branch where being busy is a constant thing.) Very friendly people serving good quality comfort food. You cant go wrong with that.
Very busy so I cant stress this enough YOU NEED TO BOOK A TABLE. The que to get in was huge luckily we got to walk straight past as wed booked a table but the que was out the door. The food was amazing I got a burrito and it was delicious. It was my friends birthday and the staff sang her happy birthday. Our server was so lovely aswell :)
Too noisy, they should remove a few tables to improve the quality.Customer service is good.Food is decent but let down by very dirty glasses and cups.
Great atmosphere. Good service. Tasty food.
Great atmosphere and cocktails. The location is wonderful as well. Servers were very attentive and the food was amazeballs.
Finally got to experience it. Gluten free menu was good and I enjoyed it.
😋 yummy food! Great prices
Great meal and service. Would recommend it.
Delicious food and great service (Leo was really friendly and attentive).
Food was good service was very slow. They add a service charge onto your bill if i want to leave a tip I should be given the choice
Excellent service, food was great, definitely a place worth visiting
Yummy food as always. Nice location, nice friendly staff
Really great menu, great for vegetarian options. Would recommend!
Brilliant food, drinks, service and great staff. Lovely service from Andre and others and really lovely being back in a restaurant. Well be back.
“No priority for people with reservations” makes for a terrible experience.
Excellent burritos and tequila, good atmosphere, charming staff
Super friendly. Good food.
Lovely place, great food and dealt with allergies smoothly
Great service and staff! Accommodated my allergies very well :)
Super food, great staff
Great fun and value for money.
Great atmosphere, friendly staff and the food was excellent
Too crowded even on a weekday and menu was not inspiring!! Waiters looked too hassled and busy. Left after one drink and few nibbles for another place.
Experience 10/10Food 10/10Customer service 10/10One of my best food/dining experiences yet
Service was great and the food was really nice!
Excellent Staff and Service... Chef came out to take note of allergy and dietry requirements.
Ok but a bit of a conveyor belt. food not all that
Its amazing, authentic Mexican flavours, friendly staff and a lively atmosphere.
Excellent service by Andre and food was delicious!
First time at Wahaca , did not really enjoy the food, all tasted the same. Very good service
Great food great service thank you
Attentive service and lovely food!
First time Ive been and the food is exactly want you want with a few beers. Excellent service by Paul. To be honest, if they showed football Id probably stay here for hours spending alot of money. No pressure to eat and leave like alot of other central London restaurants.
Lovely staff, quick food and lots on the menu. We left, stuffed.
Hmm, visited Wahaca because I really enjoy Mexican food and have wanted to try this place for a while. I wanted to try a decent amount so ordered three different tacos and two sides but sadly, nothing that I ordered was moreish. In fact, I didnt feel motivated to really keep eating either. The only stand out thing was that the staff were genuinely absolutely LOVELY. Up for a chat, cheerful, friendly, courteous and it was so nice to experience especially given weve all been shut up inside. Oddly, I would recommend Thomasina Miers other Mexican restaurant called DF Tacos which is infinitely better.
Great food for better value! Would highly recommend the Wahaca Selection, which is £25 for 2 people and includes enough food for a full meal each - the best things that come with it are the tacos and chicken quesadillas. The churros (not included in the combo) for dessert is only ok, as is the coffee. Overall, a good place to stop by for a cheap eat!
Loved it. Be sure to make reservations.
Friendly staff, good service and tasty food.
Aya live the food at Whaca
Good food, lots of vegan options
