Always a nice atmosphere in this restaurant its a nice bit of calm away from the hustle and bustle of upper St. The food is always beautiful and very filling served with a nice cold beer or red /white wine. The staff are very attentive and friendly too I recommend this place for special occasions or just a quick lunch .

Delightful spot in the heart of Islington. Walk from Angel.French food a delight and a wide choice. The set menu has great choices and represents great value. However, be sure to check what you want to eat against the set menu price as what we ordered was less individually than the set menu. The staff were great agreeing to charge seperately.Great cooking. French tastes. Good scenery. Good service. Highly recommend.

Fantastic lunch deal for very solid French food all around, we had the escargot, moules frites, as well as chicken liver & bacon salad, and grilled chicken baguette. The mussels were cooked perfectly, no empty or unopen shells. Highly recommend for a nice, affordable lunch!

Dreadful service. I have a medical condition that means I must not be exposed to cigarette smoke. On Saturday afternoon, another couple arrived, were given the table next to ours (literally one foot behind me) and started chain -smoking. Le Sacre Coeur had been empty apart from 6 people (us and 2 others), so there was no need to place smokers next to non-smokers. I complained, explained my problem, and asked to be moved to another table, expecting an apology and to be moved to the other end of the restaurant. But the eldest waitresses got visibly annoyed, complained that all the other tables were booked (they were empty then and were still empty when we finished our meal) and squeezed us into the smallest table between the other non-smoking couple and the front door, at the same end of the restaurant as the smokers. The sort of treatment you might get 30 years ago, not the 2020s, so we wont be back. Btw the other waitresses did a good job; the problem was just the oldest one. Now the food: this was generally good and with big portions, but the mussels were very small, the potatoes too salty and heres a photo of my pudding, as delivered, so avoid getting desert.

A fantastic french meal. Every course was delicious. The french onion soup was full of flavour, the calamari was amazing, steak was cooked perfectly with great fries and desert was spot on. Went for an early dinner on a Saturday. Good service, cute little bistro, but those were the only positives. We had steak frites, a savoury crepe and creme brûlée - all were mediocre at best. I struggle to understand how this place is so highly rated. Maybe the mussels are good? I don’t think I’ll give it a second go though.

A delightful little place - we had a fairly early dinner booking and stayed until close! The staff were really lovely and never rushed us either. Food was delicious (special mentions for the prawns and steak)and the house rosé on point. With the warm weather we could have almost been in France! Nice to see them still being good with covid measures too. Thank you for a lovely evening!

I’ve been coming to this restaurant for many years. It’s Always excellent food nice wine. I’ve noticed since it opened up again after lockdown their wine and beer prices have gone through the roof. A bottle of house white £19.00 A small bottle of Stella £4.50. I can only think they’re trying to make up for their losses during lockdown at our expense. Please stop ripping people off or you might find we all start asking for a jug of water.

In one dinner I’ve eaten 3 different kinds of meat, frog’s leg, duck and rabbit. I was impressed with the variety of unconventional dishes! For a Sunday night it’s a good choice of restaurant as it wasn’t too busy. This bistro has a nice French vibe, with soft light and pleasant background French music. The food was tasty and a good sized portions, it arrived quickly. The French waitress treated us well. I do recommend!

Wonderfully true to French classics at an affordable price, with lovely staff. I recently ate rabbit casserole here and it was fresh, tender, tasty and generous. Ive never had a bad meal here in at least a dozen visits. On my last visit drinks were a disappointment hence 4* not 5*. Tonic was flat in our G&T and the glass of house red was not off but really disappointing. The house white was better. Also, we were disturbed by a seemingly constant stream of Uber and Deliveroo riders walking in and out. The staff seemed frustrated with this too! Small improvements would make this a must visit place in London - let alone Islington.

I spent my birthday there and truly dont want to be negative but besides the cosy atmosphere and fairly friendly service, I am finding it difficult to say anything too positive, ALSO nothing too negative but cmon guys - when was the last time you looked at your menu, plates, presentation.Room temperature champagne -WHO drinks that, who, tell me who? Most food was below average, horrendous presentation, EVERY dish needs a slice of thick lemon and half cut cherry tomato upside town. Too much sauce, wrong sized plates, badly seasoned. One of those places that one day will die because next door pops up that actually cares. Sorry, you have charming location, place and pretty nice staff but lets be honest - you stopped caring long time ago.BUT, at least it was very decently priced

Cute little French restaurant with delicious food and good service. The two or three course meals were definitely bargains. The portions were massive and we were stuffed after starters and the main. Highly recommend trying the chicken liver salad, they are really generous with the amount of chicken liver. All the dishes we had (mushroom starter, mussels & chips and salmon & mushroom crepe) were absolutely amazing too.

Second time Ive been to this place where the food has been poor. The chilli prawns were so tough, I almost needed a steak knife to cut through them.I asked for my steak to be medium, it came to me medium well/well done. The sauce on the steak had the consistency of dishwater with no real flavour. There are better French restaurants in Angel.

We came to Le Sacre Couer recently for my 29th birthday. Being a party of 17 must have been a challenge for a small restaurant, but I must say the booking was handled in exemplary fashion from start to finish. They agreed to let us choose our meals on the night, whilst most restaurants I spoke to demanded we order in advance (which would not have really worked). Top work guys!

Pleasant staff and ambience but the highlight is superb food, tastes like home cooking, generous portions well presented and sensibly priced. Definitely worth a visit.

On the positive: The place is cute and the food taste very nice. The young waitress and the young waiter are very nice as well. How ever we found that the staff was a little overwhelmed and took as a long time to get our order taked. The duck taste very good and the portions and price are very good too.On the negative I ordered the Pavé de Saumon à l’aneth but I got the salmon saldad instead, and it was so difficult to make eye contact with the waiter to tell him that the dish was not the right one, that I ended up eating the wrong dish anyway. Both drinks where warm with no enough ice.

I came here with two colleagues/friends for lunch and have also dined here once before. In honesty I have mixed feelings about this place. It is very authentically old style French, which is both good and bad. It is cosy and distinctly independent, but the service is pretty inattentive and the menu is a little dated. I had snails followed by muscles. Both were tasty, but its hard not to make food tasty when youre using that much butter and cream. Overall I like this place quite a lot because its charming, but if you took that charm away the food alone wouldnt make this a brilliant restaurant. I feel like they need to reduce and freshen the menu and put a little more effort into the service. If they did that this would be a truly wonderful restaurant in a great location.
