Fabulous wine, terrific staff, lovely location. Duck burger comes highly recommended.
Very good chilled....
Delicious lunch and very good value. Onglet with shallots for £12.50. Well set up for covid precautions as well. Cheeky pinot noir to set it off.
Wonderful experience! The dishes were incredible, we were very impressed. Great cocktails and wine list superb. Also quite good value considering how high quality it is. Service was another highlight, both waiters were so fun and friendly. My one negative is the interior wasn’t that nice and the music was far too intense.
Great little hidden bar. Lovely for a red wine and cheese night with friends. Still fairly under the radar so is much nicer than some of the other bars in the area. Soft seating and table service with delicious menu and a wide variety of wines to choose from.
A most inviting welcome from the staff who were most pleasent and attentive throughout the evening. The selection of cheeses and wines were first class and complimented each other very well.A most enjoyable night out.
In summary, if youre going to go for lunch, have the set menu. If you dont fancy the set menu, go somewhere else. My colleague had the set two course lunch for £10 with a glass of wine for an extra £3. I didnt fancy the set menu so chose to order from the menu. The waitress recommend I order 3 dishes (its tapas style). The duck doughnuts were a bit of a non event, with the accompanying spicy sauce lacking in both quantity and spice- it was basically some sort of hoi sin reduction, but there was barely enough to be able to tell what the flavour was. The French cheesy mash and ham dish (the real name escapes me) was pleasant and the black pudding and ham burger was miniscule for £8 and lacked any depth of flavour past the black pudding. I ordered a glass of house red, which was the same wine as my colleagues, the same size (125ml) but more than double the price. It did not taste good in either of our opinions.Ultimately my colleague paid £13 for an inoffensive lunch that filled a hole, but I paid £27 to be quite disappointed with the impact of the food for an establishment which is attached to a Michelin starred restaurant. Im unlikely to return unless I like the look of the set menu that day.
The little brother of the adjoining Michelin-starred Club Gascon, this is a real gem. Head there for the lunch menu and youll leave extremely satisfied, happy and your wallet would be too. A three course meal with wine works out to £14 which is a steal given how much we enjoyed it. Portions are decent and the menu changes daily, offering food based on ingredients from the southwestern area of France.
Good quality food, nice to place to have a lunch with someone. However, the prices are ok, but the portions are small. Also, they serve coffee and cappuccino from all-in-one machine, not a professional espresso one.
Came here for dinner which was a mistake- failed to do much for me and the portions are tiny. Can imagine that it’s a great place for drinks and food as more of a snack though!
Oh gosh. 1973 wants its cocktail menu back. Very dated decor goes well with a cocktail list 40 years out of date. Slow, lack service and premium prices. Ordered a Martini not on the menu to see if they could redeem themselves. Alas, no. One of the worst I’ve tasted globally- over soaked in vermouth. Shame as they are surrounded by superb competing venues and desperately need an update.
Tiny portions but lovely food
Nice bar with good cheeses and good wines.
A real lunchtime treat. Set menu for 2 courses at £10 was an absolute delight. Highly recommended.
My husband and I booked to come here for drinks for our second wedding anniversary celebration. The cocktails were average at best. But the service was terrible. Considering there were only 6 other people in the whole bar, they forgot to serve our cocktails and then they took around 40 minutes to arrive. And on top of that we got charged service charge! Appalling! Wouldnt go back here again!
Wonderful little place, with a very tempting range of small plates, all of which were impeccably presented and delicious. Id particularly recommend the aromatic squid, crispy potatoes, & chive puree, and the barbecued crispy foie gras.
My favourite lunch spot around this area. Just say yes to the specials
Best lunch value in town. 2 courses for £10. Highlight of todays plat du jour roast pheasant legs and citrus mash!
Very nice grown up bar, awesome wine, lovely bar snacks but on the expensive side (understandably)
Lovely wine bar with French tapas - small bites. Recommend the house white as they always choose their wines carefully
Fantastic food for lunch and good service
A classy place for some good quality wine by the glass and some posh nibbles.
Amazing food, surprising tapas! Very friendly and helpful staff too.
Great range of foote gras bites at very reasonable value (£6-9 for some great sharing plates). The brioche burger and the crispy BBQ were stand outs.
Great French tapas. Lovely intimate bar - very cool.
Foie gras is superb, good selection of wine and european music
Foie gras burger very good!
Had a very pleasant lunch, quick service and very tasty food.
