Zuari was lovely. Delicious flavours, wonderful service, and a very local feel from a family-run restaurant. Two of us ate 3 courses with beers for €30 - a bargain!

The owner is as authentic goan as you will get. The food is good but not the home cooking I am used to but still lovely, especially the chicken curry.

We frequented Zuari this September. The food is excellent, we loved the mutton and chicken entrees, and the wonderful samosas. The owner and family are really nice people, and make you feel welcome. Zuari is far enough from the tourist parts of town to feel local and authentic, yet easily accessible by foot or bus. Go!

Zuari makes you feel like you’re in a Goan home, and mom just cooked you a delicious meal. The samosas are crispy and delicious, the mutton was tender and spicy, and the price was right. Super casual and satisfying.

Our first time having Goan food and it did not disappoint! It was fun to taste how Goan food is distinct from typical Indian food. Everything we had was delicious and the staff was so really helpful and kind. The samosas were the best we have EVER had! Definitely try this place and be sure to look up the history of Goa and Portugal, adds some interesting historical context to a great meal.

I went there with my bf and we both loved the food. The owners are very friendly and chatty. The place has a simple decor but the food more than compensates for it !!!

Excellent Goan food in this small, family-run restaurant - probably the best i’ve had outside Goa - best samosas , and all curries were delicious : we had pork vindaloo (hot n sour ), chicken xacuti (my favourite) and a coconut shrimp curry - can’t recommend this place enough ! if you’re looking for something a little different in Lisbon !

Incredibly delicious samosas and top notch curries. I especially enjoyed the 40 egg cake for dessert, with which the ginger and cinnamon ice cream pairs amazingly. Theyre both excellent on their own!Clearly a family affair, the service is friendly and quick.

Was staying outside of Lisbon by a beach town and was craving for some Goan food. I looked it up on Google as I thought there is bound to be some Goan food here in portugal!So out of the the 5-6 options I chose Zuari because of the reviews and mainly because its run by an actual Goan family. Bingo!So we travelled to Lisbon and found the place. Its a small locale with a home feel. I had to control my excitement to finally eat some fish curry! I ordered the Zuari curry, katchori, papad and beer.It took me home, to the jungle shores of Goa.The katchori was delicious with all the right spices and the curry was sooo yummy, the fish so fresh...I was so happy!I then met the chef (Sheila) and we had a lovely conversation that made me even happier! They travel to Goa to acquire the spices and mix the masala themselves hence the authenticity! Thanks for the awesome food! Will send any Goan in Europe your way...and Ill be back :)To the rest of the world visiting, if you know Goan food and crave authentic curry..try Zuari!

A homely atmosphere ( it is run by a family ), very pleasant, the best Goan food in all of Lisbon, easy access from the centre of the city. Prices are reasonable. You are not likely to regret the visit if you like Goan food. The dessert is particularly easy on the taste buds after a nice, spicy meal!

I had a choice between 2 restaurants and I chose zuari because of their amazing reviews and mahn or mahn I wasn’t disappointed. The food is the greatest ever. Reminds of home straight away. Orlando the owner is an amazing host and Shelly his wife cooks along with him. It took me about 30 mins to decide what I wanted to eat coz I wanted to try everything and the menu is the shortest ever. That’s saying something. If you’re in Lisbon for even a few hours, you need to try Orlando’s heartwarming food. It makes you fall in love with the food . I wish I had more time to visit zuari again but alas I have to leave but I’ll be back and you’ll find me where else? At Zuari with my man Orlando . A complete family restaurant . Much love

I normally visit Zuari whenever in Lisbon. Authentic goan cuisine. Their cabrito, sarpatel, and chacuti are delicious. Samosas are my favourite.It is a family run and the owner, namely Orlando, is very helpful.

1st point this criticism is aimed at those who do not know Goan food.This is made mostly with fresh ingredients and takes thousands of ingredients including spices, THE SAUCE is decadently rich and velvety, a true hymn to the palate to the point that I am sure that God will go there for lunch or dinner.2nd point this Restaurant is one of the best if not the best of all Goan food, because the food is made by the own wife of Senhor Orlando who is the owner and is always kind, generous, good listener and an excellent conversational family and home environment because this family makes us so always feel at home, generous doses well seasoned and spicy good to liven up those bitter and gray days of our life.I strongly advise the CHAMUÇAS that are the best in the world and surroundings and I am quite traveled; the AMBOTIC de Cação Divinal, the SARAPATEL; THE VINDALHO XACUTI AT LAST ALL THE DISHES are very good, of the desserts I recommend the BEBINCA THE SWEET GRAIN AND THE MANGO ICE CREAM AND SO MANY OTHER THANKS AND WELL THERE! This is my first choice when I go to Lisbon. Simple place but six star food, at fully justified and honest prices. It has existed for about 30 years and maintains quality, this is not for everyone. At this level, in Portugal there is only Mendi, in Porto. Everything else that has come up is mere staging, as far as Indian gastronomy is concerned.

Once again, I had the pleasure of enjoying a great meal in this visitable space. From the special menu on Fridays, today was chosen, nothing more and nothing less, a very special tuna loin balchão. A true delicacy of the gods. The tuna perfectly matches the aromas and flavors of Goan cuisine, making it juicy and tender. In the end, I chose for dessert, the excellent cardamom ice cream, noteworthy.It is therefore urgent, for those who have not yet had occasion to do so, to visit this gastronomic temple.Many thanks to friend Orlando, wife and children, for the friendliness and art of well serving a gastronomy of choice.
