Totally impressedFrom the service to the presentation of the food to the authentic flavors and taste. INCREDIBLE.A tad on the pricey side for the mains considering portion size as well as desserts but well worth for the quality.I highly recommend this spot, sat outside but would love to try the insidenext...loved the decor inside ..Very cool place
Amazing food! The curry, baos and duck spring rolls were super good. I’m giving them 4 stars because their service was super slow and the desserts were too expensive and not up to expectations. We got the Indonesian pancakes and the chocolate and orange dim sum but they were just decent. Better to get more appetizers or baos than going for the dessert.
There will be queues so always reserve ahead if possible or go before opening time. we enjoyed our food here and I think it was reasonably priced but we weren’t quite happy with the service. they took over an hour after we had our starters to bring us our bao burgers and main. and all we got was an apology. ambience is nice and plenty of seating available. good options on the menu too. it’s a popular place in lisbon so they must be doing something right.
Excellent, authentic food with great presentation, and some very inspired desserts. We had the crispy chicken and dragon bao, a selection of dim sum, samosas, some excellent kimchi, and the laab gai (Thai chicken salad). My only nitpick would be that the laab gai was missing some fresh sliced chillies. The coconut créme brulé and the chocolate orange dim sum were both delicious. The mocktails and fresh soft drinks were also really good!
Probably the best tofu pad Thai I’ve ever had. Got take away but will definitely be visiting.
Great place, definitely worth the wait. Try the dessert dumplings ⭐
Pretty hard to fault! The service was super friendly and even though we had to wait for a table and they were super busy, the team are kind, engaged and attentive. The food was great, decent portions and extremely tasty!
Delicious pho! Not quite the same you would have in Vietnam, California or France, but definitely full of flavor and with a melt in your mouth brisket-y surprise. Their music was a bit too loud for lunch time.Their COVID-19 policies on the weekend are confusing. First they asked for a EU COVID vaccine pass (its the law), I told them it was in my phone and I could show it to them if they had a charger to lend me. A waiter sat me at a table with a outlet and while I was waiting for the charger, another waiter came to tell me they didnt have a charger so I had to go. I was quite hangry, so I rushed to FNAC to buy a charger and came back, connected my phone and offered to show my pass to the same waiter who said they could not serve me without proof of vaccination, but he didnt check. So I just ordered my Pho and ice tea, which both hit the spot.
Another one praising the staff ❤️, great vibe from queue to meals end.The food presentation 🍜 is spotless, and the space all around amazing.⚠️Edit: they are now taking reservations. Well... Perfect asian restaurant in Lisbon, please do yourself a favor when you re around and enjoy 🥰_____________________The only heads up would be to get there early⌚, like every other trendy place is getting harder to get a table. I would personally advise to go there either at opening or no later than 19:30, or you might have to return another day. Even in covid times they re not doing reservations, but its worth every minute of waiting time .
Great place, great food👌💯The staff very friendly💯
Ordered delivery for the first time after wanting to try it for long. Was a total disappointment. The price is excessively high for what is being served. Everything was ok, but ok for the amount paid is not enough. We ordered a Classic Dimsum Mix in which there would be prawn ones. As for allergy we requested to swap the prawn for pork or chicken. That didnt happen.... A part from that, the amount of food on the portions was very small in general. We ordered a eggplant bao, which came fridge cold and that made me very very confused as the restaurant name is BOA-BAO. How could it be cold? Its a steamed bread for jesus sake!
Amazing selection of food. Service is above average. Delicious selection of pan-Asian dishes. Great outdoor seating areas. Really worth going to.
Food and cocktails are world class and world class service👌👍
All the dishes we ordered were delicate and tasty, and as an Asian I find them quite authentic (I personally would expect “Thai beef salad” to have more veggies, but it’s not a big deal). What made us slightly disappointed were the drinks. We ordered two cocktails and a Vietnamese coffee — one of them (a cocktail with tea) was quite good, but flavors of the other two were either unbalanced or watery.A cocktail with ginger and lemongrass had too strong flavors of these two. Usually I don’t mind either, but they just tasted unbalanced in the drink somehow. And the Vietnamese coffee was watery.. while it’s supposed to be thick with condensed milk and sugar. But overall the dining experience was really wonderful. We love the presentation of the dishes, the ambience and most of the food we had. Would recommend friends to come :)
Not sure what the hype is about. Cool restaurant but food was below average. We got 2 bao and a couple mains. Everything was so covered in sauce that you couldn’t taste the actual food. Meat was tough. Even the rice was bad. How do you mess up rice?
Don’t bother coming here without a reservation. Tried calling 5 times. The waiter told us “We are full enough, we don’t answer the phone” - did not like this arrogance…
Food was ok, prices a bit high and service was very slow(even for portugal).
Great food! i tried pad thai & a red curry and it was delicious. one of the best dishes i had in lissabon
From the food to the drinks, everything was incredible. Our waiter fearlessly recommend both cocktails and entrees, and they were out of this world. Cant wait to go again
The food was delicious, the best dinner we had on our trip to Lisboa! The staff was very friendly and the ambience of the place was lovely.
Amazing spot in Lisbon. Great atmosphere, service and great asian food! Make sure to test the top quality cocktails 🍸. No reservations usually, so go there and ask for a spot, if there is waiting time have a drink at some of the many nearby bars while you wait!
Excellent Thai food! Ill be back!
Couldn’t rate this place higher. The food is delicious! Loved the dragon bao and crispy chicken bao. We are here multiple times. Would absolutely recommend!
Great food. Try the buns! No reservations but get there 15 min before they open and you should get a table.
It is quite difficult to book a table. Do not try to call by phone, you will not get an answer. But the food is superb.
Absolutely loved it! Great food, good quality and in my opinion it was decent price. Also, staff was really nice.
The food is good but massively overpriced. I’ve had better bao buns in London for cheaper. Very disappointing in that sense.
A trendy modern restaurant but doesn’t just sell Vietnamese cuisine but also other Asian cuisines. The bowl of Pho was big with a large quantity of serving. The soup was spot on flavour and I really enjoyed the soup. For the rare beef it was delicious and I wish they provided more of this. The dish also contained a cooked brisket or some type of other beef. It was very tough and took the flavours away from the dish. If they left it out it would have elevated the dish a lot more. One big down side was the dried rice noodles they used. It needed to be cooked more to make it less chewy.Their staff was very friendly and accommodating especially with the massive shower that hit right before I walked outside. A solid effort from this restaurant 4/5 stars.
Small chain of delicious Asian food. They have indoor and outdoor seating and we decided on the chefs counter. That allowed us to be seated somewhere warm and we could see some of the kitchen activity. The chefs were all from Philippines or Nepal and we were guessing Vietnam, Thailand, Laos or that region. We had a pork belly bao and a curry noodle dish. Curry dish was delicious but maybe a bit sweet for my taste. Others will love it. Also ordered the large beer but the glass was quite small. You may have to order multiples.
Unbelievable that in a place that is always busythe staff is so kind and professional! Kudos! Also great shrimp Pad Thai:)
One of the best asian restaurants I’ve ever been to, by far the best in Lisbon. Delicious food, superb drinks and great service.
Everything was amazing and very flavorful, my favorites were the shrimp pad thai and the dim sum, hope to return soon!
Veeeeery inefficient but friendly staff. We wait 1.5 hours with big expectations but wasn’t worth. Average touri food
Very tasty food and well servedThe ambiance is nice, well decoratedService is good and prices are fare
Some of the best drinks, food, and ambience we had in Lisbon. We arrived in peak hours and had to wait at the bar which was a neat experience in ìtself with the cocktail passport. Actually didnt wait long at all. Service was functional but not warm (except the bartender who was great). Food really hit the spot and was full of good flavours. Satays were great. And green curry was just the way I like it. Really good Asian food is difficult to stumble across here but these guys get it. It may have been pricey but the food and drinks were worth it.
Lovely place & Great service. From HK passing by Indonesia passing to end up in thailand , having travelled all over Asia, I can vouch for the authenticity of the flavours. They have many vegeterian options as well as fish and seafood options.
A fun dinning experience. The restaurant is really well decorated and you can tell they put a lot thought behind every detail. I found the ambiance fantastic and very much aligned with whole concept but the music was way too loud for me.*Food-wise, these are my two cents as a vegan:They do have a separate vegan menu which makes things much easier – make sure to ask, as it wasn’t offered to us. It seems as though the dishes there aren’t different from those you’d find in the general menu, however. They’re simply compiled there. As a starter, I split the Boa-Bao Delight with my friends (two of the items are vegan). The veggie samosa and spring rolls were good but nothing to write home about. For a main, I ended up getting another starter, the Dim Sum Assortment plus a side of lotus root. I wasn’t particularly interested in their vegan mains as I cook a lot at home and these seemed to be the simplest dishes they have in the house; noodles with veggies or curry. The dim sum was good but I’m really glad I got the lotus root as it was the absolute highlight for me. The flavors were delicate yet complex, umami oriented. Also, I got to say I’m a little disappointed they don’t have vegan/non-dairy baos :(All in all, a good experience but probably only great for non-vegans.
Great restaurant! The wait is quite long, and the later you go the longer youll have to wait in general, so go early. While you are waiting though you can order drinks and appetizers that will be added to your tab. The cocktails are quite good; if you like gin, try one of the options they have. All have been great so far. The wabi sabi is served on a tea pot, so cute. And super tasty. The waiters are really nice, specially the bartenders - who are probably used to making people feel good during the long wait. The food is great. Definitely recommend the pho - which I have over and over. The classic dim sum is great too.Definitely recommend.
Lovely atmosphere, central location and good concept. Menu offers a wide range of options and the cocktail bar is great (although expensive). Food was good not fantastic specially for the price tag. Overall a nice trendy restaurant in central Lisboa with price pushed up.Must say...all staff, very efficient and friendly service!
Food is decent, but pseudo guest selection at the door is annoying. Disengaged and slightly rude host: Tables inside for people with covid certifications or 1hour waiting list for esplanade.Left and had lunch two doors down - cafe di marzano. Plenty of people came after us and managed tables without a reservation. Funny that when I visited with a TV celebrity friend, the experience was very different...
After two weeks in Spain and Portugal, I needed some good Asian food and this place did not disappoint! We had the vegetarian dumplings sea bass bao, Malaysian curry soup with seafood, vegetarian noodle soup and black sesame balls for dessert.
We had a really lovely dinner tonight at this place. Didn‘t get starters and kind of regretted it when we saw them arrive at the table next to us. But our main courses where delicious and instead of the starter we went with a small dessert afterwards. The staff was really helpful and nice - we‘d definitely recommend that place.
Amazing food and service. The gua bao with the pork belly was our favourite, and the mochi for dessert tied the whole experience together. We arrived 19.30 and luckily got a seat by the kitchen bar, which was fun because you get to watch all the dishes getting prepared. We had two starters, two main dishes, two desserts, and three beers altogether, and ended up paying 57€, its worth every penny!
We tried to call for the whole day to make a reservation but they didnt answer. Then we ordered food by boa-bao true ubereats. When we got the food we missed the half of it and when we tried to reach the restaurant they weren’t answering again after many tries. We are really disappointed and hopefully there will be a solution.
Food was good, not the best I’ve ever tasted, but it was well worth the money. Service was excellent and the atmosphere of the restaurant was lovely. Would recommend.
Excellent restaurant with delicious menu! The options are very varied, and the flavor of all dishes is there. We tried the baos, the ramen, the fried rice, and different appetizers and it is definitely one of the best restaurants for Chinese food in the area. The concept is super interesting, with great cocktails and very cool looking menus, as well as beautiful decoration. The staff was very nice and we would come back again.
Great food, friendly staff. Highly recommended!
I came here as a solo diner and ate outside under the heated parasol. The food exceeded my expectations, none more so than the chinese buns with amazing fillings. I ended up eating WAY MORE than I should have; in fact when I ordered my last plate, I watched the waiter leave and literally said to myself did I actually just do that? and then I answered myself with a nod and said yeah, this is happening, and proceeded to let the food train make the final delivery at my table. I have since recommended this place to my colleagues who live in Lisbon and when Im back, I will be stopping in and trying more items from the menu.
Making a guest wait for 1,5 hours because they refuse to take reservations is assuring a negative experience from the start. My favorite Thai soup is Tom yum and this was definitely not a Tom Yum soup - their chicken Bao was horrible, just like their pork belly bao :(We are still giving 2 stars for the Pad Thai that was actually delicious.
Best Asian food or just the best food ever that I have had till now in Lisbon! A bit pricey but worth every penny ❤️❤️.Plus you got an amazing staff, extremely fast service and an amazing date night spot
Delicious Thai food in the heart of Lisbon. A busy spot in the evening, so try an early seating. We had red curry, a black bean beef, spring rolls, and mixed satay. Everything was delicious. Friendly staff. Will definitely visit again!
Had an amazing meal here for my boyfriends birthday. Sat outside and was immediately asked if we had any allergies or intolerances which is probably the first time weve been asked directly! Felt certain being a vegetarian that Id be catered for. The mushroom bao buns were amazing!! Attentive, friendly staff, speak good English. Bit more expensive than the other local Asian type places to eat but well worth it.
Great Pho, good service and atmosphere.
Very delicious! We had the pork buns & the spring rolls for an appetizer. For dinner I ordered the tofu pad Thai and my husband ordered the beef pho. It was very busy and we had to wait 45 min for a table but well worth the wait . While you wait they have a cool ticket system to order drinks and finger foods . We just had a few beers. We will definitely be visiting again!
Great food, a bit expensive
I ordered the vegetarian dim sum and the eggplant bao. The food made a perfect lunch.
Great place! Kind staff, good food, fair prices, nice music, lovely decorated with nice lights. Recommend! Vegetarian options.
Beautiful atmosphere. Casual and cozy, feels like a lounge with nice and approachable staff. There are plants and retro/old looking fancy decoration. The restaurant has two indoor spaces: one with mood lighting, another with natural light in a glass room. Everything seems organic and recyclable (the straws are actual straws). Its easily accessible, close to 2 subway lines (green and blue, at Baixa-Chiado). Use the exit towards Praça Luís de Camões, the one with a longer staircase.Their style is based on the cuisine of many Asian countries, and the plates are well served and worth the price. There are vegan and gluten-free options available. On special occasions (we visited for Valentines) they have limited edition menus. Both those and the usual food and beverages are delicious. We ordered the following:• Qíng and Sotha non-alcoholic cocktails,• Gua Bao (steamed bun) of marinated tamarind chicken with peppers,• Gungjung tteokbokki (Korean rice cakes) with an assortment of vegetables,• Japchae, Korean sweet potato noodles stir fried with beef,• Black sesame dumpling in a lychee, jackfruit and ginger tea.
Definition: Rip off6 euros for a boa with a single tiny shrimp17 euros for extremely tiny portion of beef rendang (about 50-100 grams max)Have no relation to what authentic Asian food is.In summary negative: totally overpriced, small portions, no authentic flavors.Positive: looks really beautiful for Instagram and friendly staff.
Cool cocktail list and menu. Lovely food and interior design. Recommended!
A really nice place to eat Asian food.
Amazing food and very good service.
I have been here twice. The Tom Yam Goong tastes very good. The pad thai is however a bit too sweet. But overall the food of the restaurant is very good. I would definitely recommend others to go here if they are craving for Asians food
