This place was very lovely and welcoming. The quality of the sushi was great, however the portion size was not that large. Cost was average. This wasn’t an all you can eat place. The seafood tasted clean and more fresh than other places I have tried in Lethbridge. The chicken bowl was flavourful with a good sauce to rice ratio. Chicken tasted fresh and moist. We finished it off which some ice cream and the green tea ice cream was delicious and perfectly sweetened. The server was very kind and knowledgeable. This is the place to go if you want to sit down with a friend for a quick bite. I also had a chance to try their appletini which was pleasantly delightful.

I tried different Japanese restaurant in Lethbridge, this one gave me a comfortable feeling of seats n environment. Their food is good. I will go back n try more different items next time.

Passing through Lethbridge wanted to try a non chain, non fast food restaurant and this fit the bill nicely. We had the set dinner for two and loved every dish. Service was attentive and friendly. Value for money was good for the quality (high) and the quantity (reasonable). Highly recommended.

I don’t recommend this place if you want authentic taste or attention to detail. I was shocked to see their signature roll that costs $14.25 was very small and plain. I also ordered two dinner sets for take out and both were missing the miso soup. Disappointed and will not return. Highly recommend you go to Dono Sushi instead. You get better value for your money, it tastes very fresh, and their attention to detail and presentation is a night and day difference.

This place used to be quite good but the past several times weve went weve been disappointed. The most recent time the tempura was soggy and 90% of it was undercooked batter, the beef teriyaki was way to salty to the point where we couldnt eat it, and the chicken katsu was the complete opposite having no flavor whatsoever other than the tiny bit of sauce we got with it. When we got home my wife and I both were nauseous for the whole night...presumably from something we ate. On top of the disappointing food, we could constantly hear the kitchen staff swearing and being excessively noisy in the back which made us question how much care they were really putting into everyones food. It also somewhat ruined the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. Unfortunately this place is not what is used to be and we are sad to say we will likely not be going back.

I’m so glad we have this sushi spot in town. It’s a gem and a favourite for date nights or lunch with friends. I’m a huge fan of the lunch box - great value! I’ve tried a lot of different things on the menu and I’ve never had something I don’t like! Great service always too! I love this spot.

Still good quality food. But the portions have gotten alot smaller in the last 2 years, and the prices have gone up. Their negiri especially is now cut super thin and has a chick pea sized ball of rice beneath it. When you are charging 3.50$ for a single negiri you expect something more. Spicy rolls are the only thing that brings me back.Dono sushi is a better option for price and quantity with all their rolls and has better quality negiri and salmon.

By far the best quality in the city. Absolutely incredible food and service! I wish the city would have given some thought into what their construction schedule does to their business with no patio or parking. Because of this I will go out of my way to support them!

This place is a good one to go to if you like Asian foods. The waitresses checking in making sure everything is going well and drinks were always there. Its a nice place with great design, clean, very good setup and the traditional Japanese food tasted great. I had Unagi Don which is bbq eel and first time eating it, Ill easily go back! The prices are quite fair for the food and service you get.

The portion was pretty generous, and came with a variety of items.The dinner for 3 set came with soup, salad, rice, California rolls, sushi, sashimi, edamame beans, gyoza, beef teriyaki, chicken katsu and tempura. The price for this set was $70.

A really nice small Japanese restaurant very a good atmosphere. The food is good, Ive tried their lunch special, which isnt any of these pictures unfortunately, and is very filling.The dinner for three was able to satisfy the four us when we had it. The beef teriyaki sauce was pretty salty, the beef itself was nice and tender. The chicken catsu was very good, tender, flavorful, and crispy. Tuna and salmon sashimi and nigri werent too bad, kind of taste the same as any other place that sells sushi but did taste a little less fishy and a little fresher.The soy sause was also quite salty like the beef teriyaki. The wasabi is spicier than any other place in Lethbridge, which I personally enjoyed. Food is reasonably priced for the amount you receive.Overall, I would recommend this place for a nice date or youre craving Japanese food.

Suuuper unimpressed with the food we got, or more so lack of food we got considering we spent over 100!!! Always heard good things so my family was really looking forward to trying out. My kids Looove sushi and we were extremely disappointed in the 3 small containers that showed up to feed us. Never again will order, such a total ripoff and the food wasnt even that good. Considering there was 2 adults and 4 kids we still had leftovers... Thanks Dono sushi for saving the day.

Best Japanese food and The only place which serve real Japanese food in Lethbridge. I recommend you to try the Japanese style grilled steak, its different with the traditional style of steak that you can eat in any American restaurant. It tastes exactly the same as we have in Japan. Their sushi and sashimi are so fresh; if you dont hate the smell and taste of raw fish, I highly suggest you to try.

Lighthouse always produces amazing quality sushi and their service is always great! My husband and I used to go weekly before kids, but since having our babies we dont frequent nearly as often. When we do order though, it sure is a nice treat!

Ordered takeout. Rates as average. The agedashi tofu was good, as was the seaweed salad - but the portion was unbelievably small! Nigiri sushi portions were okay, but nothing outstanding. Nice staff!

Went for lunch with my coworkers to have a post meeting discussion. The atmosphere was nice for discussion. Private feeling with the partitions between tables and no ambient music. I ordered the lunch special and my two choices were: vegetable tempera, crab salad roll. It also came with a steamed rice and salad with a house dressing.

Just finish eating and wanted to say the food was really good. I had several pieces of sushi and their lunchbox as well. The waitress Sarah was very friendly, and knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend eating here.

Server could have been more polite. She was very rude and aggressive in informing us about the covid guidelines. My family and I are in the same group of six but she felt the need to shout at my mom THREE times to maintain social distancing within our group. After humiliating my mom, she realized she can sit six people at the same table and told us to do that. She also forgot to ring in an order. Food was good but experience was completely ruined by the server. Please be polite, everyone is going through a rough time during this pandemic.

As always, my order was perfect, and the staff were friendly as always. However, this review is to THANK and appreciate the over and above customer service that I experienced today. Today I saw on a whole new level, how much Lighthouse cares about their customers. A special shout out goes to Ryan who changed my flat tire in the -20 weather. There was no hesitation what so ever and I so appreciate it. Once he had finished changing the tire, he left and when I drove around I saw him pushing a truck to get out from a snow drift. It is the small (but not so small) gestures that make this restaurant my favourite in town! Thanks again!

I have yet to find a sushi place in Edmonton that I like half as much as the Lighthouse. My parents are regulars, and I can see why. The sushi, especially the Lighthouse rolls are phenomenal. Im always sad when I realize I only have room for one more. The service is impeccable, the decor is awesome and the food is top rate.

I remember the Lighthouse from the last owners. They did an exceptional job.Fortunately, the new owner with Lighthouse is keeping the same standards.The fish is fresh. The beef teriyaki is well balanced. I am a big fan of the service provided here as staff are helpful.

Really good atmosphere too!EDIT: they upped their prices, which wouldnt normally be a problem except they never told me when I had been in there, and I usually go 2+ times a month- not one employee ever mentioned the price increase. And of course they havent updated their website yet to reflect it, so it was very confusing as to why I was continually being charged so much (I usually order pick-up), all they did to justify the insane price hike on the lunch special (it went from 11 bucks to almost 14!!) was to add 2 gyoza, and they arent even good. And when I asked the waitress about the price and told her about the website she just shrugged and said they havent updated it yet. I think that if youre going to advertise a lower price on your website you should honor it. Or put a freaking sign up so customers know, and arent guessing. Not happy about it, Im definitely going to quit going there so much for a while, or may stop going altogether indefinitely.

I had heard that it had the best Sushi in Lethbridge. It wasnt inexpensive, but it was excellent. Simple, clean, modern, & cozy setting. Great presentation for the food. Service was respectful, but nothing extra.

I was in Lethbridge for a funeral, and was in the mood for some Japanese food. I naturally used my Yelp app to find a Japanese restaurant. I had been to two others that came up, and decided to try something new.If youve ever been to Lethbridge, youd know that if their were 3 Japanese restaurants downtown they would all be within a few minutes drive.I believe they open at 4:30 P.M. for dinner. It was a Monday when we came, so it wasnt busy at all. I looked around and found only one other table with a couple sitting there.What we ordered: California roll- on par with any otherTamago sushi- The tamago was sliced thicker, and was made in house. (sometimes you can get the stuff that is very generic and brought in)Agedashi Tofu- appetizer (tasty, sprinkled with bonito flakes)Miso soup- also on parBeef teriyaki bowl- rice bowl with stir fried beef and veggies. (not very much beef)Katsudon- rice bowl, with pork cutlets, then steamed with an egg on top. (the breaded pork was tender and tasty)Tea for all.All in all a good experience at this Japanese restaurant. I will definitely come back here, if ever in Lethbridge.Side note. While dining the restaurant did get busier by the time we finished. Also looks like they do a decent take out business.Also saw a couple who were just married take a couple wedding pics with a photographer at one of the tables. (maybe its where they had their first date ?).Better than average decor.

My first time there the food was fresh delicious the service was excellent. I would recommend anyone interested in going for delicious sushi this is the place. Theres a lot of variety on the menu but we chose sushi.

Excellent quality, high end sushi that is priced really well. Keep an eye out for the fresh oyster specials as well.

I am no sushi guru. Ive only recently treated it as a staple, but I know enough to know what I like, and I LOVE Lighthouse. I was a little apprehensive because of some poor reviews I found relating to their service and location. I can happily report that I did not share in their dislike.It looks like theyve recently decorated, and the decor is very tasteful and relaxing. I found my chair not overly comfortable however, but it wasnt terrible either. The benches lining the walls were comfortable Our waitress tonight (Chloe) was exceptional. Friendly, but not phoney. Attentive, but not cloying. Helpful, but not pushy. I found her an absolute delight, and our evening only improved from there.Our orders were taken, and the food arrived VERY quickly. Ingredients were fresh, and I especially enjoyed my order of lighthouse rolls and their unagi (would recommend to anyone). EXTREMELY tasty. The other waitstaff was helpful also, clearing plates when Chloe was otherwise occupied, and we saw some of the chefs coming and mingling / chatting with patrons (I was disappointed they didnt stop at our table ha ha).I feel I could write for hours, but I urge anyone who is looking for a sushi dinner, do yourself a favor and give Lighthouse a SERIOUS consideration. I would take them over any other Japanese restaurant in town, hands down.

Absolutely terrible. Went in on a Wednesday evening at 6pm, only 4 tables had customers, yet somehow got served at 6:45 pm. Ordered the udon, sashimi dinner and spider roll maki, all were a joke. Out of the 10 pieces of “sashimi”, two were tamago, one was a thin piece of smoked salmon, and two were imitation crab. Soft shell crab was hard as a rock, and udon was undercooked (btw udon is just some noodles thrown in hot water with pieces of onion floating on top). Don’t bother going to this place, save your money and go somewhere nicer instead. Whole meal costed $50 for 2 people. Will never return and I urge you not to come at all.

I absolutely love the sushi at light house and frequently come. Usually I have decent service by the guy. The two ladies that work not so great (blonde and black hair). But today was by far the worst I stood at the counter for our online pick up they we ordered at 6 for 730 pick up. I stood at the counter for a couple minutes no one said one Ill be there in a second or even acknowledged me, the blonde lady even went behind the counter and used the cashier and made drinks and didnt even ask if I needed help. It was like I was invisible. Then finally a guy came out to tell me that my order wont be ready for another 15 minutes (he was at least polite) and in his defence he didnt see me at the beginning and was very apologetic. But the girl was so rude. Im not saying this to be mean Im saying this so she doesnt make the same mistake with someone else

The food is always fantastic and the staff are so friendly. The atmosphere is good for a casual lunch or for a fancier outing. They are great about accomodating our gluten free needs. This is no doubt our favourite place to eat in lethbridge!
