The best hostel experience..so good that me and my friend chose to stay in the hostel more than we wnated to venture out. They made the stay so so so beautiful and comfortable. The infrastructure is brilliant and spotlessly clean (very important for me). Starting from the breakfast to the ambience to the lovely hosts, everything here seems to be carved out from the heart. Its been 3 years but I havent yet forgotten this place. Will forever be thankful to Hearth for making the stay so memorable :)

Its a nice little hostel. One can really enjoy staying here if traveling with friends. There are a few cons along with few good things about this place. Donot expect a lot of professionalism from the staff, its a hostel with a little laid back attitude. There is only one working staff who works really hard but if there are too many guests he struggles to manage and be on time. If you are traveling in winter like I did then you are bound to face one serious issue of clean washroom. There is literally no cleanliness in the washroom due to scarcity of water as all of it gets frozen. Also the rooms werent cleaned on daily basis. Its cleaned one time when you check in and that too the sheets and blankets covers werent changed which I guessed was due to scarcity of water again in the extreme cold conditions in mid February. There are three friendly dogs who are always playful. Also the interior is really cool with this traditional room heater (Bukhari) to keep you warm when its freezing outside. Food served is just fine to go with and also one has to eat what is cooked and not on order basis, so if you are very particular about your food avoid eating here and order from outside.The scenic beauty is overwhelming around the place. Location of this hostel is great too. Its situated just 4kms from airport and at a two minute walking distance from Leh market and taxi stand. There is also a common room with indoor games for hostel mates.

Hostel looks amazing. Have some amazing wooden interior. Loved the Bukhri - traditional heater. Cons- Same breakfast each day ( Bread omelette) and service is quite slow.

Finding a hostel during winters in Leh is a tough ask. Just walk towards Shanti Stupa, you would understand what I mean. You will find closed hotels, hostels and bunch of dogs to greet you. So it was a delight when I got a budgeted hotel near the Airport and close to market. This is my first visit to Leh.Thanks Purnima who offered me a half day stay in the hostel even though my booking was 10 days later. How many cups of tea can you have at a tea stall.The hostel is at a walking distance from market and located near Polo Ground. This is where I met Pema and Bunty bhai. They are the backbone of the hostel. They made my stay comfortable and peaceful during the freezing winters. I cherished my four nights.Leh is ♥️ and so is HearthPeace and happiness 😊🙏

Its one of the best hostel in the heart of the city, its just 10 mins away from airport and almost in the middle of the market.Location - market is nearby, taxi stand is nearby, airport is nearby and if you need permit to go khardungla or pangong then authority is nearby too.Comfort - my stay was amazing here, place is nice and clean, although washrooms are bit conjusted but still manageable.Food- food was pretty decent i would rate 3/5Owner - he is just amazing one of the most intellectual person can speak on anything, travelled almost everywhere in the country.

I cannot explain my experience with words. It was like family. Pema (hostel manager) is one of the best people I have met in my life. She is adorable, she is helpful, she is funny, she is just amazing girl. The hostel is very well built with wood, looks amazing, location is very good, you can see Leh Mahal from the roof of the hostel. The hostel is next to the Polo Ground. Overall excellent experience in the hearth Hostel. 101% recommend staying here if you are a solo traveler.

A humble hostel near polo ground , has a private room and 3-4 shared dorms with 4-5 beds in each dorm and shared bathrooms . Stay in hostel provides a good environment as you get to meet new people and discover more about their culture . The place is quite clean and open . Variety of seating options are there to hangout and relax and its quite economical . The best thing was its location as it was very near to the main market merely 250 mtrs and also to polo ground which is the taxi stand .

In the coldest place, hot hospitality.. Comfort stay.. A place definitely echoes you stay back or come back.

If we go as per the budget ie Rs. 450 / day, you will get much much much better hostel. For visiting customer following is the must requirement which Hearth Hostel is missing,1. No source of drinking water2. One day you will get the breakfast n next day no one will ask you3. No cleaning of room and bedsheets on daily basis4. No clean washrooms5. No soap in washrooms7. Holes in the bathroom8. Most of the time staff is absentAlso, if drinking is not permitted then please mention on board. Because we saw everyday peoples are drinking there. So it is quite obvious for new people to understand that drinking is permitted.

I came a day early on 9th August to Leh for acclimatization for Stok Expedition and found this hostel the best fit for my one-night requirements. The staff were very helpful in onboarding and got my bunk bed immediately. The room was clean and the bed was fresh + comfortable. I had a very good view of the mountains from my window. Bathrooms were relatively clean when compared to other hostels. Fellow hostelers were from different countries and had more fun in interacting with them. They have this apricot tree which was full of apricots during this season. Breakfast was decent. One of the cozy hostels I have stayed so far with wonderful hosts who prayed for my summit attempt.

Hearth Hostel is a place that provides community living. It has been thoughtfully designed to be less burden on the ecology and accommodative to a big group of people. It provides basic facilities to backpacking travelers with an amazing view to the range of Stok, Himalaya. This establishment has a beautiful Apricot tree and a small garden as well.

A very Good example of Worst Hostel !!!Bad Experience...! Indifferent Staff..! Arrogant Staff...!I wish there would have been option for half star.If you want to die due to malodorous smell, book this hostel.Zero cleanliness, Washroom stinks more than any dumping ground.Unclean mattress, blankets and pillow covers.

I had a wonderful stay at Hearth Hostel for eight days this September. The place with its lovely hosts, Purnima and Stanzin, along with new people you meet and share experiences with, makes a warm and welcoming impression on you. By the end of my stay I felt so much at home there and left Leh with a bit regret that I couldnt stay there a bit longer :)

By far my most enjoyable stay in northern india. Great community vibes, generous owners that truly care, access to in-house travel agency services, perfect location in the old Leh market (less tourists), walking distance from the new market, old palace and Tsemo monastery. A little haven of peace–plus theres an apricot tree.

Sunny and Purnima were great hosts and helped alot during our stay with them in Leh. Hostel was kept in good condition and they accommodated us pretty well.

Never underestimate the importance that people play in a place. Yes, Leh and Ladakh are fabulous and you must go. But when you visit you must stay at HeartH with Stanzin and Purnima.The owners and operators of HeartH, Stanzin and Purnima, have deep roots in the Ladakhi community while having a modern outlook on tourism. That combination is invaluable.While at HeartH we could not have been more comfortable. The food was healthy, nutritious and customizable. The beds were new and the linens were spotless. The building is a sprawling Ladakhi home that has been tastefully renovated to facilitate guests while retaining the original charm.In addition to being our hosts, Stanzin and Purnima also served as our guides. They arranged for a scooter to rent and sent us off on four different day trips with customized maps and a briefing of what we would see. When we wanted to go to the Zanskar region, one of the most remote and beautiful sections of J & K, Stanzin and Purnima arranged for a driver who was actually from the area who also had a great car. When his holiness the 14th Dalai Lama was visiting they arranged for taxis so we could watch him arrive from the airport and hear his birthday speech.Only people with such ties to the community and such an open mindset could have done all of this. My wife and I could not have imagined a better eleven days. We give HeartH our emphatic endorsement.

I am staying in this hostel on 8th 9th and 17th August .I am on my stok kangri trek .I must say this is the best stay in leh for backpackers .very nice beddings .open environment and host are very helpful and friendly.i recommend this place to all my backpackers Friend.

Currently I am staying here.I stayed here for 5 days. From 7th Aug to 10th Aug and 16 & 17 Aug.1. Wifi: It doesnt work or hardly works. Unable to load WhatsApp messages and Facebook2. There are two washrooms and one of those remains out of service most of the time.3. One of the toilets has wooden walls which has holes4. The cost says the price 450/- per head includes breakfast but I didnt get breakfast in these 5 stays.5. Drinking water is not good and it is unfiltered., If you ask the caretaker he/she will fill your bottle with tap water.6. The caretakers are not approachableEdit1:1. I dont drink so I never brought beer or rum bottles2. The water container was never full to fill my bottle otherwise you gave water from the sink or basin.3. I am not using hostel wifi to write or edit this review4. I didnt climb any tree in hostel premise

Staying here for 10 days is the best hostel I have ever stayed in and they have a great team of staff. Take the time and effort to help me make the wrong trip to Nubra Valley and Bangong, take me to buy a ticket, in fact, the staff does not need to do these, but they treat you as a friend, and every morning, come back and say hello to chat . Handmade Indian breakfast every day, panatha is delicious! The accommodation conditions are not very high-end, but in this kind of hostel with old Ladakh reconstruction, I think it is more unique and worth living! If you are thinking, I believe he will not let you down!
