Very, very nice food. Well worth the money. I go along way to to eat their food. I have been going to Raiez for about 30 years. Even my children go out their way to go there. They are all grown up now with their own kids. My boys knew the owner from 30 years ago. My first house i bought was not far away. You want great food for you or your family go their. Love the friendly service to. It should let me give them 10 star. 5 or 6 stars is not enough.

Went there for the first time with the missus, extremely good service, fresh food and delightful conversation. Staff will go miles out of their way for you. Highly recommend if you like the old school currys with rich fresh ingredients. Anyone who gives this below a 4-5 stars is being nit picky and stupid. If your sat on the fence, deffo worth a try at the very least.

I’ve been coming to Raies for at least 25 years and it’s my favourite place for curry probably in the country. Max and Zahida are two of the loveliest people you could ever meet and work so hard. I always order the same thing: Karahi Gosht which is a citrusy lamb and onion dish. Absolutely brilliant. Thank you!

Raies is our favourite local Indian Takeaway. The food is exceptional and authentic and the delivery quick. We have gone through the menu and all dishes have been 1st class. Too many amazing ones to recommend, however we love the Chicken Masala, Chicken Jalfrezi and Taaka Daal. Great options for meat eaters and vegetarians. You wont be disappointed!

We asked for delivery few weeks ago and enjoyed the food on a Saturday. We ordered recently and had to wait more than one and a half hour for delivery on a Friday evening, though they promised a delivery in 45 minute. I should note that we live in a nearby area. The food tastes good but delivery is pathetic.

Been going and ordering takeaways for over 15yrs (delivery around 3miles), great service and a good tasty curry... This time i ordered a spicy chicken tikka masala (saucy) arrived piping hot made exactly how i asked for it....

We had a lovely meal at this restaurant, the owner and his wife were very hospitable, Raies’s best food is their grills, and we loved their fish too. Okra is my favourite dish, I wanted it spicy but it turned out to be very mild for our taste hence I have given 4 stars but will definitely go there again.

Ignore any poor reviews, this restaurant has by far the best currys in Leeds. We have been regular customers for well over a year. Always friendly service as well. 5 stars!

The food is amazing, every time Ive been Im always impressed. The service isnt always as quick as you would hope, and if you go with a group of above 6-8 they seem to struggle with service times,as Ive only seen up to 2 chefs working. However the quality of the food makes up for the waiting. Not expensive and the staff are all friendly .

Genuinely one of the best curry houses for flavour in Leeds. A small restaurant with friendly service, however it is the quality and taste that stands out more than anywhere else.Unfortunately take away service is same great taste, but theyve messed up a few times getting the order correct.You have to try it out if you take your curry seriously, or you even just want good value. Just check your orders when they arrive.

We ordered the fish masala, onion bhajis and chicken biriyani and it was delicious! The staff were very friendly and polite. The lady even gave my 3 yo child some ice cream for free! I think she may have read my mind about the possibility my son would do a cartwheel on her tables! Nevertheless, food was perfect, freshly cooked and very well seasoned and the customer service was second to none. I couldnt have asked for better service ..and hats off to the chef!

Top notch food, every time - the karahi gosht is the best I’ve tasted anywhere and Max is the best host you could hope for. His lovely wife is charming, too, so not sure what some of these other restaurant-owning reviewers are on about. 🙄 Highly recommended. :)

Visited at weekend for first time to order takeaway for family members (their choice and they enjoyed!).Small restaurant with nearby street parking in Harehills, Leeds. Established 40+ years. Brightly lit and busy when I was there. They also deliver: free within 1 mile for £10+ orders.

Food is very overpriced, for a £5.50 fish grill, we received 5 small cubes of undercooked fish, very disappointing. On a better note, the lamb biryani was lovely, but for £9.95, it ought to be.

I have travelled the UK for years had curries in Scotland Wales Ireland. But none of them get close to RAIES by far the best in UK great food value for money Max (the owner) n staff make it like your in your own home so go try it

Used to order from here all the time was excellent. Last order was dreadful. Rice was missed and the curries were wrong. Waited over an hour for it to be delivered cold. Called up and was told the manager would call me back, never happened. Was the second time the order was messed up. Used to be my favourite take away. Will not use again.

Very rude lady owner, just told me to leave her shop as soon as I and a friend walked in. No explanation why we where not welcome. We have come here before in the past when the male owner was on duty but this was the first time we where meeting his wife.When we asked why?? She started to scream and shout that it is my shop and i can kick anybody out of here. She seemed stressed out and ready to burst into tears or something.So me and my friend left as gentleman but will not be going back here again

I came to Leeds for 3 days and my first day i entered for the first time in Raies restaurant. I ordered 1 papadom ( my first papadom in my life ) , 6 portions of chicken masala ( curry , it was so good that after 1 portion i ordered 5 more to take for some friends ) , and also 1 Alabama fudge cake. The food was extremely delicious! But i mean super extremely delicious! The staff was so friendly. I arrived there at the closing hour but they let me order and stay until i could nt eat anymore. And they made that curry ( a.k.a. masala) so fast.... I never saw so much speed in making curry at any other restaurant.... It was a great experience! I will definitely come again here! Thank you so much Raies!

Shockingly bad service. I placed an order and they missed my rice. When I called to inform them they basically accused me of lying by saying the chef said he definitely put it in the bag. My order came up to nearly £25; If i was going to lie about something that was missing, then Im sure I would have picked something more expensive than the rice ! Also I ordered a bottle of coke for them to send me 3 cans instead !! They didnt even call me back to inform me they were doing this ! I will never use this place ever again. The portion sizes were also an absolute joke for the money. And to top it all off, the rice never even arrived l. So an hour later I had to warm my food and make my own.

Ordered food for collection. On collection food wasnt ready, staff unorganised! When we got home realised had not got the order right but we were charged for items we hadnt got! When we spoke to staff customer service was horrendous and was told what do u want me to do about it. Absolute shame because food we received was nice but poor management and customer service. Will not be ordering from here again 👎🏼

I came here lastnight around 1pm. I couldnt find nowhere open which was decent. I heard good things about this place so decided to try it out .. i wasnt disappointed as soon as I walked in the door I was welcomed by the lady owner she was so lovely and welcoming! All the staff were really friendly and great customer service. Wasnt waiting long for the food either when it arrived it was piping hot .. the best chicken tikka masala and naan bread ever! I would say this is the BEST place in Leeds for curries and milkshakes. I cant wait to come back and bring my family and friends.

I’ve been eating at Raies for the better part of 3 years at this point with my family/anyone who’ll let me drag them there, on a minimum of once a fortnight though there was a year in there where I was going once a week before my working commitments changed. Spoiler alert for the review (though the score should give it away), it’s among my favourite places in Leeds.When it comes to Curry and the assorted accompanying foods, it’s hard to cater for everyone because each individual has their own desire as to what they want in a curry. I make curries a lot in my own kitchen, and naturally when you can make something yourself you don’t want to go elsewhere. I’ve also been burned a few times when I’ve ordered from what looks like a promising Asian Cuisine Provider, only to taste what I suspect I could have made with a Patak’s jar from the supermarket.My family vary when it comes to choice: dad’s a Balti-enthusiast; younger sister’s a vegetarian who likes a bit of choice; I’m the masochist who’ll order the hottest thing on the menu. Thankfully, Raies caters for all of us. I’ve never had a bad meal from Raies, and I’ve sampled practically the entire selection of Curries to identify a favourite. At present I’m torn between the Jalfrezi and the Dopiaza, though Bhunas have been a new challenger. What I love most about Raies though is that you can tell each curry tastes distinct, unlike many a takeaway where the extent in variety in the food is how much tomato you taste and how little cumin they’ve stuck in. My dad and I can each have a Balti, but when I want mine drier and spicier, the staff have no qualms in making sure my food is more suitable to me.Perhaps what has kept me going more than anything to Raies though is the staff. Max is the person who I’ve had the majority of my interactions with, and it’s refreshing to see that he’s not above serving customers himself, but rather will get involved socially and recognise a familiar face. I’ve had no shortage of positive nicknames from Max, and every time I go I feel I’m valued as a customer as opposed to another mouth to satisfy to keep the money in. Max will even make the effort to accommodate my tastes, suggesting additions or alternatives to expand my tastes, even if it means suggesting a less expensive option. It’s a good sign when the chef not only takes an interest in your taste, but is focused on your enjoyment as opposed to upselling. The rest of the staff are just additionally great personalities whom I look forward to greeting with a handshake at every visit.I can’t recommend Raies enough. It is my go-to place for Asian Cuisine, and I will be bringing my friends at multiple opportunities. Keep greeting me with pickle trays Max, I’m going to be coming here for a very long time.
